  1. i had a Cordoba waaay back, a 2003 1.2, from 2007 to 2012, before i got my first octy - 2004 mk1 1.9. ive looked at seats since as well, but, imo, skodas feel more solid built. the trim plastics and fabrics feel thicker and more durable, less likely to rattle and squeak over time. this may not be the case, but thats my feelings when i compare them on build quality.
  2. absolutely definitely 100% broken wires in the bellows. Breezy pete posted pinout diagrams in another similar thread only in the last couple of days, so check that out too if you want before any potential erwin problems...
  3. as a new and not paid "freedom" member, you can only edit a post for approx 60mins. thats why i asked one of the moderators to do it for you. should try to avoid putting phone numbers or emails and home addresses on the internet, bold people search for info like that to use for bad things
  4. @john999boy could you edit the posts to take out all personal info, maybe pop gav a pm with that info?
  5. put up some photos of the entire thing when its done Pete, could end up handy for someone along the way
  6. Hi, what car have you got? also those changes as a % are not exactly massive... if its over a journey its going to fluctuate more than that along the way, more moving around the more "unsettled" it will be. changes in road gradient alone will alter it. i really wodnt worry about it
  7. in other words a purely opportunistic break in for a rummage where they got lucky and were able to "have a bit of extra fun" hopefully theyll have been thick enough to leave something identifiable behind and a prior arrest for similar so their details are in the system already....
  8. thats a bittersweet result... "weve found your stolen car" "brilliant!" "its been wrecked, driven around fields and is now beyond repair" "bostords!"
  9. those 95 aeros were such an underrated, natural sleeper, hot saloon. i could never justify the running costs, otherwise id probably have one. and now with the age and difficulty to get spares... 😞 i wish they hadnt gone to the wall.
  10. little bosturds. a kindly mod might pin this one for a week or 2, to help awareness? @cheezemonkhai for example?
  11. have you the tracking done? i know there much "adjustment" in the rear end of a mk1 octy, and probably not in a furby either, but it could worth checking?
  12. that is very frustrating, i suppose in terms of the vehicle - for it age and milage its done very well. but in terms of "your purchase" its pretty ****. the unfortunate part of purchasing cars in that age bracket is you could have a fully dealer / genius mechanic mollicoddled car that has never wanted for anything and its still a gamble that you get 4 more yrs of no hassle or it eats itself the day after you buy it. and that across the board with all manufacturers. i would more say Skoda is the audi the day after the pretty dress outing, hangin around in trackies and flipflops eating leftovers and no make up on.... a better image of reality i dont mean that in any kind of sexist way..
  13. reality is, if they want to get in your vehicle, theyll get in your vehicle.. just like if someone reeeeallly wants to get into your house, theyll get in.
  14. thread bump... i ordered the below off amazon germany (the B word makes using the default .co.uk a minefield of customs or not). i ordered 2, not realising they come as a twin pack in that size, so i now have 4... but did a test today when they arrived - they work 100% as advertised. even with the pouch top open, sitting the car "no key detected" message until removed fully from the pouch. pressing the buttons through the pouch outside the car - no reaction. so im a happy bunny, may give the extras to the inlaws for their keyless start mazdas... link https://www.amazon.de/gp/r.html?C=3KS82OZ9FHPVW&K=NUCOOOLALB2R&M=urn:rtn:msg:202207250754039876ecc09de24850945ff35d3500p0eu&R=32NUX0C0JJ1MZ&T=C&U=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.de%2Fdp%2FB08FT6YCQZ%2Fref%3Dpe_27091401_487027711_TE_SCE_dp_1&H=3VG1BJEQWVYEK7RRUCU2RRLG8RQA&ref_=pe_27091401_487027711_TE_SCE_dp_1
  15. as soon as i saw "CTS" and "one from ECP" i had a feeling the next bit gonna be "its still not working". VAG engines have always been fussy about non oem engine sensors. i think the different thicknesses of metals in oem vs aftermarket can make enough of a change to the resistances the ecu expects to get that it just goes "fk that, its broken" i cant say if youve accidentally put the new one in the fuel sensor hole, but assuming you havnt, try unplugging it and see how the engine runs?
  16. one of my colleague's who got covid via his 2yr old's creche in late Jan ended up catchi g at least 4 non covid chest infections within 2months of his infection...
  17. unfortunately its worth what someone will pay for it... but it should still be a good little bangernomics bus for someone. have a look at some ads for cheap ones, and expensive listings and gauge yours for where it falls between the quality / age / price brackets.
  18. yeah, but youre in borderland arent ya? about 4 yrs behind the rest of the country 🤣🤣🤣
  19. it sounds though, like your throttle body might be sticking.
  20. start with the basics - have you checked all the fuses both cabin and battery box top? when was it serviced last? is it speed /gear related, or does it happen in any gear or speed?
  21. ah ball cox... hopefully it isnt too bad though 🤞
  22. i thought the "agri spec" look had been and gone already? it was very mid recession over here, among the few boy racers that couldnt get to Oz, or afford to run petrols any more. "ratted" (just ****boxes in reality) mk4 golf tdis and 307s with turned up exhaust tips covering the back of the car in black gack...... fk me it was ridiculous.
  23. i do, except my aircon is currently o/o/o as i havnt got around to replacing the radiator following its mangling by a fox a couple of months ago
  24. i put a front set on my mk2 octavia 2 yrs ago. hekos, and the little clips were a tad annoying, but a good shove with a flat head screwdriver got them in and even up. wind noise is a bit worse alright, but the main benefit is - leaving the windows open an inch and not worrying about it raining inside. and the lack of fogging up on the move.
  25. i just went back and checked... sunday 19th July 2020 i did my first 5k attempt. so im 2 yrs and 3 days into this journey.. i had set myself a target for the end of this summer to make an attempt at running up Slievenamon, starting at the Church we got married in at Kilcash. it would be roughly 550m meters of uphill trail, so tough, and more than my average gain since starting the hill/trail running a few months ago, but if its not tough it doesnt work for me. i need there to be a target to build to, and a challenge at the end or ill get bored and give up trying to improve without noticing it. and now im realistically a good 6 weeks behind on that challenge. so when i do get back its gonna be mentally tough for me knowing that im behind where i want to be. but im alive and have everything attached to let me keep pursuing the goal so i have to keep that going too...
