  1. the bike using for my exercise battle is 30ish yrs old too... my dad bought it to replace his road racer after it was written off following a pothole hole related incident. it became my bike when i outgrew my 5speed raleigh mtb at about 12. it became auld lads again for a while after i finished uni and the bike was at home. he got a new one a few yrs ago, so i took the emmelle back again. shimano brakes and originally shimano trigger shifters that were changed to twist grips as he was struggling with his arthritic thumbs. i dont really like the twist shifters, but cant be arsed changing them
  2. have you checked with Chain Reaction up there in nordy land? buddy told me they are good for equipment. @UndertheRadar link added to their shifter listing, in ascending price order. https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mobile/gear-shifters?sort=pricelow
  3. well, i slept okay, until swmbo woke up at 6. shes had a sinus issue the last 3 days (not covid, been tested..) so has been waking up to blow her nose frequently.. i got up at 630, and off i went. i bent the lockdown regulations a bit though.. needed a route change so went the river route, which exceeds my 5k limit by a little bit. was nice though, had a race with a Heron on the return leg, he won... 18.6km route, i can make it a 20 tomorrow morning
  4. was it definitely the same noise though? a bit odd (to me) that a noise that present in a particular wheel speed range regardless of engine speed (dropping to 4th) is also present revving in neutral? was it a cold start revving or were you up to temp at the time? my senses keep saying check your wheel bearings..
  5. morning @szeta86 screenshot of page 39 from the manual for your bluetooth kit - according to that yes you can if your phone supports A2DP and you have the cable for the aux input on the radio. hope that helps
  6. another few days of terrible broken sleep and eveni gs too busy to get out... managed it this morning.. felt it in legs after the few days off
  7. but was it getting power? could you hear the motor trying, or was it fully dead? did you try putting 12v directly to the motor? dude, you even bent the door frame :(
  8. jaysus you went to town on that... what were the symptoms before taking a sledgehammer to it? and what did you try?
  9. is it worse turning to one side or the other? if its constant in all gears, comes in at a speed and then fades at another, its likely resonating. try listening at 30-35mph too...
  10. just left it a bit loose, and only cut an x in it to tuck around and seal it
  11. sound, i'll google the arona setting for swmbo's car, need to do that one too. doubt its much different to be fair..
  12. on a similar note... is there a torque setting for the seat bolts, i must take out 2 to put in car seat tether anchors (instead of the pita anchor ties)
  13. it used to happen me with my 2litre inshi7nia too, it was the boost actuator solenoid- ie a turbo issue...
  14. tuesday morning was very tired so i noped out. last night was horrific. spud jr woke up at 155am.. couldnt settle, he got a bottle at 225am.. swmbo took over at 310am. i took over again at 420am. i got back to sleep at 515am..... lets just say i wasnt in the mood for pedalling at 630am... but i got out earlier on about quarter past 8 and had a nice 16k lap. gave it as much up the long hill as i could. hoping for a decent night kip now...
  15. any chance of getting it plugged in a scanned for any fault codes? if you do have a fuel leak it may be running a bit lean. the sdi doesnt have a lot of power to lose god love it, but by god they are overall bullet proof.
  16. if your up to temp when hmthis happebs, i would be utterly amazed if the glowplugs have anything to do with it...
  17. ftfy.... outside of dublin dab is pointless.... jackeen p***ks
  18. well later never happened last wednesday. it didnt happen thursday either. so Friday i got out, nice ride out. then saturday morning was a bit nicer.. and today was a fun one. i couldve done with 4 hrs more sleep, but it was an enjoyable pedal. avg speed was up a bit too, which i put down to dropping a couple of sprockets and getting ip outa the saddle for a 500m "sprint" to the top of the bypass hill. felt that in the thighs...
  19. no hassle.they really did fit very well, even the front seat squab covers which are baggy af on most covers ive bought. and the 60/40 split for rear seats went on really well too
  20. and this help was brought about only because of @Wino finding your mention of not being familiar with "doors" being a bike guy funny
  21. mine was a back door, but i didnt think the fronts were different? or is there an "uprated" foam version for the front doors???
  22. google 7zap, and go digging there for your part number then fleabay for a chinese pattern job. they are nominally about 30quid (last time i was looking for one, for an octy) and work just fine.
