MAS Air Filter Sensor
normally if its the maf you get a lumpy idle where it doesnt settle down. im not familiar with the 1.6mpi, but removing the maf is normally pretty easy - disconnect the jubilee rings (or similar) either side of it and unplug the cable. if youve never done anything with vag wiring have a quick look on youtube on how to disconnect the plugs, theres a knack to it. then youll have your maf and follow the instructions on the cleaner ypu got welcome to brisky from Tipp, btw

Looking for advice
hi @Climber what engine code do you have? sounds like either the vanes are sticking (dependent on engine code and thus turbo type) or actuator solenoid is failing

HELP - Rear Badge Replacement
once you get the badge off, have a rattle can of brilliant silver and one of clear coat ready. give the whole area a good clean, and rub it back then spray it up with the cans. take your time and it will come up much much better with your new badges on too

Mac's Running Diary - edit jan '21 cycling too - edit jan 23 back @ circuit training,
on a frosty slightly foggy monday morning, running slightly behind schedule, i got a nice 16k in. and today we went 3 in a row with a better time. noticed a vibration in the pedals though, thought "ah ****e my vintage 30 odd yr old crank bearing is letting go" but no! turns out the rear axle slopped a bit on the frame and the tyre is rubbing on the tail fork rest day tomorrow morning so might get it adjusted and tightened up if i get a chance

Electric seats in Mk1 Octavia
I had a feeling you were slightly off... so had to check - Elegance is the 3rd up trim level - classic - basic ambiente - med low (mine was this) elegance - med high vrs - shportee L&K - top end the "lx" ones below are the preFL trim levels. however... theres no electric adjustable seats optioned for the elegance or L&K taken from parkers. so... those electric seats were taken from another vehicle and retrofitted - possibly not very well if theres play in the mounting..
