  1. There are EV drivers still with ICE vehicles and will drive ICE vehicles. They are having a discussion not preaching. It is good to talk, and listen to their debatable points. They are not doing the scare mongering stuff, just talking about the real world now, and maybe what is coming.
  2. It is well past time that Main Dealerships were advising owners / keepers of Sun Roof Servicing. They are usually trying to Up-sell on AC Services or Brakes which are supposedly 80% worn when not even 20% worn. Karoq. But as relevant for any model. (Cambelt not so.)
  3. Not all about CO2. You just quoted. read what you quoted.
  4. An average longer life expectancy is guff. Only time will tell if the scientists have that wrong. Just check out now how many are getting to over 75-80 year old compared to those over 90 that were born before WW2 and lived in the UK when there was less sugar in foods. Go into nursing / care homes and see how few much older men there are compared to women. See just how poor health some are in that were born in the 1950,s and 60,s. There are people doing better that were born late 1930,s early 40's. Really the pollution is not so much about on our way to death having breathed in what we have and maybe healthy or on our way to health issues, cancers, lung or heart disease etc. Maybe work related or lifestyle or just location location location. Those generations before's behaviour and practices. Transport, Coal fires, Coal / Oil / Gas Power Stations etc. Maybe even the young are on their way to what ever, lack of exercise, food / drink / sugar, environment, circumstances, smoking / vaping etc. The future generations so these being born in the next decades should not suffer because of those that could not give a damn now. The 'I like Rolling Coal', I love my gas guzzler or my supposedly low emission vehicles which in cold weather is likely not green.
  5. As much as Dave annoys me, here he is.
  6. Hydro mechanically controlled. Yes an ECU controls the changes. There is a MCU / Mechatronic Control Unit. No servicing schedule for the DQ200 Twin Dry Clutch DSG. 2 different oils. Unlike the Wet Clutch DSG,s where the same oil is in the box and MCU. Not as troublesome as the Electronically Controlled Ford Durashift Automated Manual was.
  7. Be sure there is no water left trapped in the doors. Or the spare tyre well. Get as much out of the car when you can leave the doors or windows open. Do not have the mats in. Get some damp traps. in the car and in the boot. Once full of H20 replace them.
  8. @Buddxrs What brand of lowering springs are on now? Maybe go in and see Eco-tune. http://ecotune-scotland.co.uk
  9. There would be more pumped storage in Scotland if there were not those blocking the developments. Often Councillors. Same with battery storage. As it is there is so much possible electricity generation going to waste. Not being used because the National Grid does not take it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_power_stations_in_Scotland Just yesterday these vids came online. Where the communities do not want pylons do not compensate them if they go up, just triple their tariffs. IMHO. Just Hydro.
  10. All you need is things to go right with charging and the right BEV. Has Bjorn Nyland done 1,000 km challenge in an ICE car to compare on his Statistic Table against the best time BEV ?
  11. BMW i3 or MINI Electrics with a 50 kW max charge speed can be a 33 kWh battery or 38 with the BMW. 18 kW Smart EQ,s but they are AC only charging. if a 30 kWh battery charging can take 60 mins to get a charge then 15 minutes charging is taking the Michael really. 100 mile range but maybe only 90 taking an hour or more to get.
  12. Just get a TESLA. or Just get one of the Newest Renaults, you should have Just got an electric car / taxi / van from the last few years but you if have one from more than a few years ago or you are just so out of step with things. Remember you are likely below average in what you have and maybe even the owner of the vehicle not a renter with the assistance of the HMRC / UK Tax payers to run your cheaper cost transport.
  13. @lol-lolAverage.! i do not think so. Plenty not just MINI Electrics of which there are many thousands in the UK max 50 kW charging. @Stonekeeper There are still Stellantis cars with only 7 kW AC onboard and then 100 kW DC Max charging. There was only 7 kW AC up to 2021 before the 11 kW option was available. Then we have PHEV,s that need charged. Maybe bigger batteries but not that fast charging. LR ones, Skoda / VW Group. @lol-lolPS, it really is not all about and your business miles and paid much more than the electricity costs you if we take the AVERAGE of your Offpeak & Public charging.
  14. Karoq. But so often missed on vehicles with supposed FMDSH. A full main dealer service history of stuff not done, and owners not told about sun roofs.
  15. Dealers in Ireland & the UK and Customer Services were taking the p!th for years with the 5 year / 50,000 miles in this part of the EU / Europe. This was for the 1.5TSI ACT which brought it to a head when Dealers were quoting £800 - £1,200 and Owners were not getting it done and the Dealers were getting in cars and not a Full Main Dealer Service History, they did not want to put a tech on the job they said took 6.5 hours. Plus they had not always staff with all the gear and any more then ideas.
  16. The person maybe never read the stuff they should of in June / July last year. Cam Belt Guidance change (1).pdf
  17. ^^^ tosh. Total tosh. Lots of the. 1.2 million EV, wil be from the slower max charge generation.. the people maybe without home chargers.
  18. @Neily03 Is there something wrong with my post? Are you a dealership tech or fitter that accepts in new cars and does PDI,s?
  19. Guest_ replied to Alban's topic in Skoda Karoq
Maybe lower quality than older models, maybe different bolsters than other seats, maybe cheaper material than in an Audi or Porsche. Different people of different body shapes and seat positions. Maybeeven the Leather Option if available would be worn. Just add Seat Cover, a Heavy Duty one.
  20. EV Chargers properly ICE'd.
  21. Guest_ replied to Alban's topic in Skoda Karoq
So 6 years wear and tear. 71,475 miles worth of getting in and out. Depends clothes the driver wears / rough / hard wearing & how they get in and out. ? Have you had it from new and the wear is all from your usage?
