Thinking of moving to Enyaq, madness?
It is not very much to pay for VED on BEV,s. The new VED cost on new Petrol Diesel and Hybrids from April 2025 is going to be something that might bother those looking at getting a New vehicle.

the truth about electric cars
^^^ The same back when Pitlochry was pretty much cut of as in the A9 traffic not moving & the filling station down as the shops. hotels, chip shop were because power off. Blair Atholl filling station had pumps working though because they had a generator and fuel obviously. The Isle of Arran was really hit with power down, and the thing people forget which was communications with land lines and mobile reception down. .......... Might as well help him get the 911. £1,200 a month on a £120,000 vehicle for business purposes and a prop for the videos, the reason the videos are made. £277 a week. or the £39.45 each day of the week, plus insurance maintenance and his charging. Bl00dy bargain for the Prop & Transport for work.

My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
This is the lowest state of charge I have gone to. 3 miles showing, 5%. I stayed in Sport and there was no reduction in power of heating disabled. Warning at 16, then 12, 8 and at 4 the restricted range massage.

Spark plugs for 2020 1.5 TSI
The Bosche Spark plugs are not an issue performance or efficiency wise, and neither are the NGK or the Denso. Just get the right plugs, checking the pre-gapped gap is correct and the plugs do not get knocked fitting them. A nice clean fresh air filter also.

the truth about electric cars
Fail to plan and plan to fail. There is starting the trip with a full tank, but with the amazing 800 miles range, or even 1,500 miles as in a video posted then really unless you are down to the last quarter tank even a 100 mile diversion is hardly an issue. It can be in Scotland if trying to get someplace like south from a Ski Centre and the snow gates close and it is an extra 120 miles you need to cover. These days there are a few Filling stations about. As to EV,s and a 100 miles or so range and the Motorway or dual carriageway closes without any prior warning then that does cause a bit of a panic if you are not familiar with roads that you have not used since you used to with a liquid fuel car & you know you are heading someplace where you know or think there is charging and hope that there is or you might be heading even more off the route or direction you had planned on.

Empty roads. 99 miles in 140 mins @ 3.6 miles a kWh showing. started with 109 miles showing an on the charger with 12 miles & 14% showing. Rain all the way and misty, and needed AC on sometime to clear windscreen. 12*oC at 2am on west coast and down to 6*oC at the East Coast.

Normal engine sound?
@rapidlyf just asking incase someone had messed up doing the cam belt. No warning lights, so not enough misfired logged in a cycle. ? Have the spark plugs been changed?
-
Spare wheel and accessories
No it does not make it a good brand. Global though. Plenty sell them, globally.

Normal engine sound?
Sound terrible and I have poor hearing. Tell us then, how many miles done, when were the spark plugs replaced? Someone has not replaced the cam belt have they? Best go see a mechanic and that is one familiar with 1.5 TSI ACT,s.

Cool points. ID Buzz all around these days and this is a busy place and through routes for such a poor number of Rapid Chargers and you have to go 20 miles or more up or down the a77 to get Ultra Rapids. Actually 22kW so 11kW for me, but occasionally has been 7 giving only 3 6 per point. Unreliable. So the AUdi has unlocked when I got back. Blocking bay but I am going. Place getting ready for Fire work display tomorrow. I will not be surprised if the whole car park is not closed out of bounds and anyone needing charged is stuffed, as they did Gala time. Seemingly new chargers getting installed here soon. Ki Got my fivers worth. Just,

Parked this way was the only way to get on the rapid. I could not start charging until the Audi cut out after 4 hours on that AC, then the rapid would start. Not locking and unlocking car as that has stopped the charger before now and I get charged a £5 minimum. Hopefully will get charged to 100% as needing all the range later. If the Audi was not locked in I would have used the AC and paid 31 pence a kWh rather than 37 pence. Waiting to see it does not stop at 80% as the AC has last few times

VRS front diff question
@Reeky No point telling me what i might think about tyres. Been there, done this or that there, done it wrong sometimes, had, it and tried it. Managed to live to be older and wiser & still occasionally have fun driving when alone in a car. Drive with one leg and that was from the early years, i have been in a field or 3 since and upside down in fields and ditches.

the truth about electric cars
The Prestige Car Showrooms and Online Dealers / Suppliers are not going to be closing down in the UK from Spring next year. Just this week on here i read of someone trying to keep their new vehicle to under £40,000 and saying that had not been necessary really because the VED was included in the monthly for the lease / rent of the vehicle. Real world stuff.

VRS front diff question
Fantastic stuff. Enjoy the roads. Oop here they like putting Road Safety Partnership camera vans just were there might eventually be a good straight to get past on. & on the best of Driving Roads they can put up the drones and give the Officers a nice view way ahead of when they are going to stop the spirited drivers and riders. Ahh the good old days of narrower tyres and less power and being able to go into bends fast and come out of them again with only the occasional dry stone wall or fence demolished or a sheep or wildlife killed, occasionally the person walking home from the pub. If you get a chance to try one of these then do, they are just something else, even at 60 mph into and out of corners as long as not slurry or diesel spill in the blind bend.

the truth about electric cars
There is too much joy about. Here is the Reverend I.M. Jolly to stop that dead. Those struggling to pay the rent, heat or eat best not go buy a New High Emissions car with a First Year Road Tax costing Thousands of the GBP then. Lay off getting those new big gas guzzling SUV,s and such for your trips to golf & sailing club, livery stables and going to the races. 'Buy him a coffee.'

All in one service plan
All the best with that then. Do you own the car or is this on some contract and the car needs serviced to the manufacturers Guidelines, recommendations, specification or schedule,? Was the pollen filter replaced at year 2? A MOT 1 month early of the 3 years is sensible and picking up with a service and the MOT anything that might be a Warranty claim item while in the Manufacturers warranty period. Be sure a Service includes them logging the Body Inspection, that is for the sake of any warranty claim for corrosion with future keepers. Actually often not done, but should be because it is Skoda UK that says no record of being done, yet they know who do not do them.

VRS front diff question
If there is naff tyres there can be naff traction and this amazing sporty on normal roads that a Nissan Micra can get around corners at safely at 60;mph or quicker. What a lot of parallel universe roads some drive in the UK. Most of us learn eventually when driving like they are a rally driver on public roads that there are others doing the same coming in the opposite directions trying out opposite lock, or a Scandinavian flick.
-
VRS front diff question
Just for clarification. A GR Yaris and a Yaris GR are chalk and cheese. Here maybe the GR Yaris is the one for those who are getting their thrills on the 60 mph NSL hills.

All in one service plan
What was done with the immediate service you needed and how much was it going to cost? 3 years old, was it an oil and inspection service with extended scope. Did it get brake fluid changed as the only extra?

Inner Edge Tyre Wear
£450 to set up and do the check, or to have the adjustment done because they know wrong ? They are taking the pith. I suspect they do not even have the equipment and need someone else to do it. If the spec from the factory for alignment had required a change due to UK roads / cambers then that is an issue for warranty work. Skoda / VW UK are the importer, as far as Skoda CZ wanting paperwork that is an odd one.
