  1. If servicing and maintenance has been done and all is well it should be good for a long time. It depends on how many miles annually you are doing. The thing that would be my concern is the SCR / Adblue system. I would want to have a Warranty on the car that covers failure of that, or the DSG or Haldex. At least for the next year, but longer if you can buy one.
  2. Best assume nothing. You need a print out if on the Skoda System, or invoices. A Full Service History needs to show to the Manufacturers Guidelines, Recommendations, Specification or Schedule, not just anyone saying Fully Serviced. The Haldex Service is at 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner, and should not just be the oil changed, but actually serviced. If it is a DQ500 DSG that is serviced @ 40,000 mile intervals, & if a DQ381 @ 80,000 miles or sooner. 2021 prices & just as a general guide. Fixed Service regime, not flexible / variable.
  3. Welcome. Is there a record of the DSG service and when was that done and has the Haldex been serviced 2 or 3 times?
  4. He is partly my inspiration for getting a MINI electric [with not a great range or size of battery because i am more chilled now about taking time when i go further and if i need to go on a 11 kW AC i will. The other day i easily got over 4 miles per kWh in the MINI demonstrator without hypermiling. 120 miles + potential. It was ideal conditions but i am OK at only getting 90 miles between charges when those that is the max i can get when really just out driving without really being in a hurry. If i need to be someplace further that would require charging & time is tight i will use an ICE vehicle. Around 4 hours or so to get 28-29 kWh in with a 7- 7.4 kW AC charger. so 0-100% Less than 3 hours max with a 11 kW AC charger. Simple maths really.
  5. There used to be a member that made them. If you want a Rallye / Track stylee hanging down strap permanently on the car then is a VW Golf / Polo / type from Demon Tweeks or the likes not all you need to buy?
  6. There are people that sell Guide Dogs for the Stupid. Again i am not that keen to increase his viewing figures, He is a vlogger, a journalist and he gets a story to tell by making it sound like he has been cheated. Maybe just drive a car because you need a car, and drive it normally and it will not eat tyres.
  7. Too much car for me and no cloak of invisibility. (I need a car that has an option of LARGE PRINT on the information on the dash i want to look at while driving, not just a big number showing the speed.)
  8. It is important to know sometimes who is making the vids and writing articles and making statements. Especially when they might be making inaccurate comments and stating things as fact when they might be anything but.
  9. Various VW Group cars with DQ250 or DQ200,s had the gear indicator show D1 - D6 or D1- D7, or S1-S6 or S7 and then is coasting just go to D. Others might show E1 - E7 when coasting.
  10. Sorry, Typo. South Korea. As in Kia / Hyundai who probably build the best EV,s in Central Europe.
  11. Lent a BMW for 3 weeks. Last time i got it with Grand Children and dog i was getting 54 mpg but this time i chose Sport Setting on everything and was not on Average Speed camera roads and it is 44 mpg it is showing. Pot hole avoidance very much required. & kerbs.
  12. Haldex is every 3 years or 30,000 miles, but someplace it might say @ 38,000 miles like when it used to show @ 4 years.
  13. The Japanese, North Korean & Indian car manufacturers are going to be building cars in their own countries and globally in any countries for a long time into the future.
  14. People seem to keep talking about TSI,s & TDI,s as though the Advice, Recommendation or even specification and schedules are the same. Be sure the Current / Recent stuff from VW Group refers to the engine you have and not some others.
  15. There is never going to be concrete proof. Go by what the Manufacturers did advise or now advise, you decide. Have an extended warranty valid, and if VW,s advice, guidelines, recommendations or specification prove to be wrong for you it is only money. People on this forum, section and on others need maybe to stop talking about cam belts as though Advice or Recommendations cover them all. The TSI,s and TDI,s advice might not be the same.
  16. There was a 'chip' shortage during the Covid years of manufacturing so no guarantee all models / cars got all 'standard features' of stuff showing in an owners manual
  17. Skoda UK Fixed Price Servicing and Maintenance in 2021 had the Brake Fluid change @ £65. £60 in 2020. Is it not at £72 or £75 now in 2023?
  18. Maybe some help in this thread, or from @Carlston http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/513739-octavias-punchin-
  19. It appears yours does not, so just top it up, and do that occasionally. Not everything needs warning lights. More stuff to go wrong. Unless you do actually have a warning light / sensor and it has gone wrong....
  20. Welcome. Others might be able to help. How many km has this engine done and has it been good running up until this point in time? Is the Low oil a red herring or an issue? When was the oil level checked and at the right level? ? What is the reason for the flat battery, is it as simple as a battery going dead?
  21. Real world UK. Much cheapness. Not great range, but not everyone needs lots of range, or just deals with what things have.
