Skoda Fabia vRS trouble code P226100 discovered
You have no issues just a fault code logged. What was done when fully serviced?, As in parts replaced. Oil & Filter, pollen filter, air filter, brake fluid changed, were the spark plugs changed? If the car was not plugged in for a diagnostic they would not know there was a fault code showing if there was then.

How long has the code been there? Water pump probably but maybe not? Has the water pump / magnetic supercharger clutch even been replaced? ? How long have you had the car?

Indeed, And 50 mph is the Max speed you should travel at with one on, but common sense might well have you slower in those conditions. As you should do with any spare even with the same width of tyre but maybe Green / Unused, with possibly a different pressure, compound, tread & wheel if a steel / weight.

DSG delayed response
I have driven only 2 pedal cars since i lost my right leg when 17 and like pulling the gear shifter back to a lower gear. As i do with nearly every Auto, CVT or Senso Drive i ever own or drive to lower gears. Including the Toyota iQ CVT / MMT where B was back. Electric cars as well for B / regen braking. When i shift a shifter back it is to a lower gear to decelerate off the brakes, or dropping a gear or 2 before booting it without using kickdown.

Delivery times?
@BRSEngineerDid contacting him expedite delivery of your car, or just get you more info regarding delivery? At least Lesley Hardwick has been with VW UK Executive Team for over 12 years unlike many of them. She can not be unaware of issues, she has knocked back Warranty claims often enough. Has Kate Laws been moved on as a Resolution Manager?

DSG delayed response
I just use the shifter even when there are paddles. I like to slap it to the left and up or down gears, usually down to slow down ten back to D for upshift, maybe back to S for just some reduction of speed when off the accelerator. My left hand is doing little else really and i feel that it comes naturally like using a gearstick and no need to look at a gear indicator to see if the paddle did 2 down shifts if i ask it to or holding a paddle to go back to D. Makes me feel like a driving god, not just like on a Playstation..

Delivery times?
How many VW Group are importing is all that matters really and are the Skoda members are waiting on among them. Are there as many EV's and electrified cars as VW need for the UK Fleet average arriving from their factories or the partners in China to allow them to first register higher Co2 emission vehicles. So as much as VW Group bring in cars from Europe, they need the cars arriving from the Far East that allows the Kidology that they have the low emissions with the UK Fleet.

Even though temporary and going only to a safe place or for repair at a reduced speed there can be issues with Haldex & systems if not near enough the correct circumference. No CC / ACC that is OK, but if the brakes are nipping, over heating that is an issue, but that should not happen. Some says it did. The thread is somewhere from last year on one owners car having issues with the spare on i think a Superb and how the wrong size spares came with the new cars and the discussion do you put it on the front or the rear and do the car jack up and wheel change shuffle.

New car help
A Skoda Warranty. VW Group owned Warranty Company. Maybe not the 'Skoda All In.' They do sell them though, and knock back claims saying faults were known. Yes known by Skoda / VW. ? How much does a warranty show on here with the cars reg number & miles? http://insurewithskoda.co.uk/extended-warranty

New car help
If the servicing is not to Manufacturers Guidelines, Recommendations, Specifications or even schedule and i could not buy a Skoda Warranty and have the DQ381 DSG covered. Because Arnold Clark are torture when there are any issues. But if they use their System and the VW System and pull up the full history then good. They can do that, they have Skoda Dealerships, they have the system, but sometimes they will sell at Skoda at non Skoda Dealership & then pretend they know nothing.

End of the Fiesta
Ford might be dropping the Fiesta but Renault are updating the Clio and they will be hybrid only. Not a Hot hatch but 145ps used to be and warm enough for UK speed limits.

New car help
I might just be giving that one a miss. See if a record of the VAQ serviced and the spark plugs changed. Find out from Skoda UK / Dealers if there has been any Warranty work and their History of the car if they have that service and warranty history.

Mk2 facelift superb, what to look out for?
Service & maintenance history documented. Not just the Oil & filters, but the DSG serviced at least twice by now, the cam belt and water pump done, brake fluid changed, fuel filter etc etc. Then condition condition condition of stuff now that will cost you if you have to replace. Tyres, brake discs, wiper blades even, windscreen for chips. Then is it priced according to it's condition and service history or at the price allowing you to spend on what there is no record of being done. Be sure of invoices showing the DSG serviced.

Meteor Grey chips
Well then yes the paint is different, you now have Skoda / VW Group factory quality prep, protection, top coats, finish. 'If only everything had Mercedes quality paint' as Volkswagen never say in their adverts.
-
Cam belt
It is a TDI and Skoda / VW are going to say at 5 years. ? How many miles has it done and have you had it from new and keeping it for a few years? You looking at this sort of price.

Fabia VRS 5J offset question
EDIT, I can not find any showing other than ET41 other than people selling used ones and some say ET 45 & other ET48. The OP has the car and the wheels and can look at the back of them and see if they are ET 43 or ET48. As for scores on the doors, or in print they mean nothing other than to those without the car or the wheels. @Carlston Can you find the Parts Number for the Factory Fit Gigaro from 2010 , or the ones you bought as Parts and which came when Skoda replaced wheels under warranty that were not identical? Nice options for Mk4 Fabia. but then a totally different platform.

Fabia VRS 5J offset question
Re Mk3 Fabia. They have a wider track and have 18" alloys as an option. Mk2 Fabia vRS came on 205/40 R 17's and the Sister Twinchargers Polo, Ibiza & A1 cam on 215/40 R 17's. There were as i remember OE Gigaro on the Mk2 Fabia vRS are 7J x 17, ET48 , 5x100 with a 57.1mm Centre bore. *My memory can be wrong, as can Skoda and what numbers they show.) Dark Chrome, Black, Silver or White. See the advert at the bottom showing ET41 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/425042-17-or-18-alloys-tyres-question-mk2-vrs

Oil Leak
@JamesGornell I can answer with certainty that the new MCU did fix the leak. That under warranty was at the time of the Service Campaign '34H5' being introduced which was the software update because of failures. There are Kits now, 'actuators', refurbished MCU etc. ? Are you having an issue with a DQ200 DSG? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/511614-fabia-vrs-mk-ii-dsg-gearbox-failure This is an earlier DQ200 that was part of '34F7'. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509953-dsg-maxidot-gear-blinking

BYD EV's. Cheaper but still not cheap in UK Electric Cars maybe just all the transport many need in the UK.
I drove Rear Wheel Drive Automatics almost all the time when young, i preferred Mini's Austins, etc etc. then Jimnys in RWD unless AWD selected, i am driving my Shogun in RWD and the one thing you know is do not boot them early or when still turning unless you want the tail out, or to do a 360 when the surface might not provide grip. My reaction time with short RWD vehicles was never great and is worse now.

You have this now, or VW Group UK has the issue. http://www.cardealermagazine.co.uk/publish/dealers-complain-new-vw-audi-and-porsche-cars-stuck-in-huge-port-backlog/282757

around 200 ps / fwd / 60 kWh battery, efficient, and not a big car just what i will be happy with, estate preferred.

Back subframe question
So everything is going to have to be checked for the correct fit / tightening. The new springs might well have the car sit higher than as was. Be sure they are the correct springs, correct sitting. Dampers correct, tyres not reinflated and over inflated, if directional on the correct side. Maybe someone other than those that did the work need to cast an eye over the job.
