  1. 2023 Ford Puma ST have 170ps now from 3 cylinder 1.0 Eco-boost petrol engines and with 7 speed dual clutch auto's. But they have learned over the years from their failures and acted on them and kept developing and evolving. VW Group can maybe learn more from them now that they are partners.
  2. Tyre pressures can be adjusted whatever tyres are fitted according to the load carried, roads driven, weather conditions even when the car is the weight of an elephant unladen and maybe 500 kg or greater when loaded.
  3. Best drive the cars and maybe buy by condition, service history etc & what you think once driving them. If the 1.2tsi or 1.0 TSI has 110ps then that does not mean just a city car IMO. 4 cylinders vs 3 cylinders will be down to what you think when driving them. The difference with a 1.0 TSI to look for might be is it with or without a GPF and does that matter. Anything over 5 years is due a Cam Belt change according to Skoda / VW UK recommendations / guidelines.
  4. They are due you a gesture, Minimum your fuel cost to return to have them be sure your car was safe. As it is i would have had them sending out their Technician to check the car or have Skoda Assist or some other recovery service get the car in as it should not be run overfilled with oil. As it was the AA removed oil you say, but they still had to remove more. They are actually due you an extra Free Gratis Service. Cheeky barstewads. Be sure the Dealer Principal is aware, they are in charge of incompetents. ? Did the AA responder take the oil out via the sump plug or out of the dip stick tube?
  5. If it is a 1.6 TDI with a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG then there is no service schedule, guidelines or recommendations for servicing. No Oil changes required at 40,000 or 80,000 mile intervals as with a wet clutch DSG.
  6. Be prepared for various quotes on replacing 1.4 TSI cam belts. Prices are all over the place and a 1.2 or 1.4 TSI / 1.5TSI can be cheaper than a 1.0TSI and much less than a 1.5TSI ACT. Many on a Service desk seem bot to know any difference so be sure you do not pay more than needed. If they say Skoda Fixed Price Servicing & Maintenance price, well fine if cheap enough, not if some of the recent prices being quoted, and wrongly quoted. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/482371-timing-belt/page/4
  7. Thankfully the only thing Fog Lights require to do is work as Fog Lights when visibility is poor like when Foggy and you can see and be seen. They are all about the function and not being Stylee. Surely other road users could not care less if they match the colour of the Dipped Headlights & Sidelights.
  8. Real world Used cars prices are what actual private sellers can get for a car selling it to a private buyer, dealer or at auction. What dealers / traders are advertising cars at sale for only matters if you are paying them that or someone else is. Looks like a lovely car for someone looking for one of these. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/511908-superb-ik-estate-20-tsi-dsg-280ps There are others advertised in Briskoda and often owned by enthusiast of Skoda or other brands.
  9. @STEMAC The Workshop Manager or Dealer Principal should have given you their Dealership Demonstrator and got a bus or had the incompetent drive them around while they get trained on how to service a car. What is the story. Was this overfill @ your first service on your 1.5 TSI PHEV on Fixed Servicing so @ 12 months /9,400 miles or sooner as they have to be, and are you paying for servicing or have a Service Plan? How many miles ago was the service carried out? ? Does the invoice show the quantity of oil charged for at the service?
  10. People use Yeti to launch watercraft on slipways and that includes the Coast Guard / Flood Rescue etc. They are capable. Front wheel slip does have the rear wheels getting used and that can work pretty well even with a Yeti reversed into water and then pulling a trailer and boat / jetski out. Tyres are obviously important.
  11. Eyes and nose & fingers helps when you take out the dipstick and sniff and feel the oil. You really should notice if there is diesel in the engine oil. You need to get a good check of the oil level / quantity in the engine. ? Did you check the Oil level when cold or when hot when it was refilled at the service by whoever & it was new oil ? You might have to drain the oil.
  12. I would think a Yeti 2.0 TDI DSG will be perfect for there & anyplace else. Just be sure any you are thinking on have had the DSG serviced every 40,000 miles and the Haldex on a 4x4 is at 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner. PS My automatic Jimny's were from when they came with a shifter for the transfer box, so pre switch / electrics, has no ABS, & also had the vacuum system done away with and ran in AWD in 4 low or 4 high, different locked front hubs fitted. The Orange auto one had Axles off a manual Jimny, Detroit lockers fitted and the gearing was very low.
  13. The Yeti will be fine with a 6 speed wet clutch DSG & good tyres, just put it in D and off you go up that hill and round those corners. Is your old Pajero a manual or Auto? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/434939-towing-with-a-yeti
  14. Welcome. Whatever phones Czech Car engineers had in 2018 or 2016 when they started with the design / engineering of the car you have has little to do with your big phone now. Phones were getting smaller. As to a 2022 Jeep Trailhawk. Everything is bigger in the United States...
  15. I am not an expert, but was a Car Sprayer and did wheel refurbishing / spraying so did many using professional equipment and also rattle cans.. So spend time on the prep, sanding, filling, sanding and do not just try to cover damage with more and more coats. The wheels are not stripped back to bare metal / alloy so you need the first etch primer just enough to get a key, and then a light covering, same with the colour coating and then you want the lacquer. Mask the bolt seatings and the centre bore properly.
  16. With a Twincharger playing up and the engine not running right because of misfires and the Super Charger / Turbo not operating as they should when they should it is not unusual the DSG is going to behave differently. Plenty have no issues with their DQ200 DSG's. Others might need parts and repairs, but then Skoda manufacture more than 2,500 DQ200 DSG's a day. 2010-2012 they might have had Service Campaign '34F7' carried out from 2014 on, that is synthetic oil changed to mineral & a software update. Then 2013-2015 ones might have had Service Campaign '34H5' done starting from 2017, a software update. This can be in any model of VW Group car with a DQ200, so no more than 250Nm or 192 ps, FWD and petrol or diesel.
  17. Have you watched plenty of videos and read up on what you are doing. Light coats. Not even half of what you have is needed for 4 wheels.
  18. It is an Etch Primer you need first and very lightly applied. Then the primer lightly applied, more is not better. More prep is more important than loads of coats.
  19. Neither can i really other than using a search which has them associated with Chris Knott Insurance a Sponsor on Briskoda & Lancaster Insurance.

  21. Unfortunately being able to unplug makes no difference if you can not get your charge port near to plug in at an neighbouring bay or maybe behind the charger and plenty of places where you can get to behind the charge are not where you are allowed to charge at. I am charging in what is marked as the disabled bay, but many seem to not see the marking on the ground before driving in. The cables reach around to the bays behind the charger which is good as others can wait for the charger to become available.
  22. The whole thing is lost in translation with 'Destination chargers'. Location location location and chargers near where people want to actually park or be at. There are places with loads of 7 kW chargers, but getting back and fore to these are not suitable for everyone. But then using chargers and charging to full is not what everyone needs either, but plenty do need to get a charge and go. Like 'Wash & go in the shower'. 'Idle fees' are perfect IMO. Sadly there are those on chargers that can set the charge time to match the max charge period at places, the car stops charging and yet the car stays parked for hours hogging that charger / bay. eg Edinburgh Airport Park and Ride with only 5 Rapid chargers. So no £30 fine for overstaying 30 mins on the charger but the car can be there all day. East Lothian Council at least try to make some sense of it, but then where drivers could not care less it is just still a muddle.
  23. @seneca009Is that even when the engine / engine oil is hot? ? When did it get an oil & filter change last? You want to be sure that the oil is not getting diluted by diesel. This will kill an engine rather quickly.

@oldstanDid the showroom staff have the steering wheel furthest out and down when you were getting in the Yaris Cross, and did you then move the steering wheel to its higher position. I was in one the the other week and the wheel was down, as it was when i got in a Kamiq & a Arona and a Karoq. I always move the seat back fully before getting in a showroom /demonstrator, try the steering wheels movement, adjust the seat, then try getting in and out cars as i would drive them, then try driving and see what is what.
  25. I give them publicity on PlugShare & ZapMap with pictures and even get replies on posts that these are busy people who can not just be sitting charging like people with nothing to do like me. Personally i think that if they are company cars and they get their VAT back and help from the Tax Payers / HMRC, then they should be a bit less greedy, a bit more thoughtful, and maybe get chargers at their own properties / land, or use the slow chargers if they want to dump their vehicles for a while and just leave them.
