  1. Lots will come out if the Proposed Action gets to the courts. TESLA will have to defend but those bringing the case will not just have GPS or cars data but likely to have to provide from their phone or other devices their times and places as and when is relevant. Amazing that if this was going on that fleet operators, hire, and commercial or private drivers were not aware or caring. I had an EV that lost lots and lots of miles from the dash display but surely not from its ECU after an over the air update and a dealership carrying out software updates.
  2. Surely there is something on X or Truth Social.
  3. The Registration Number and DVLA Data Base is a good start to it being a 1.5 TSI PHEV. ?? Could it be a MHEV, not a PHEV? The Seat Cupra on fire in Dundee at the weekend took one hose reel to extinguish it in just a few minutes, so i suppose just yet another ICE vehicle set alight in the area where there have been several.
  4. Rev I M Jolly put this up 5 hours ago on youtube. It is not 'a terrible video'. It is and excellent video of a terrible event. The UK Media did report the incident. So he is getting the story out 12 hours later than the press.
  5. The car properly serviced and running the hardware / consumables it will pre remap is important. So plugs, coils, air intakes fitted and no misfires pre mapping. Know what the car has power wise before and after. or just Splash the £400 quid and maybe then have issues / regrets.
  6. This is after the Green one. Still total guff. No mention VAQ diffs. DSG,s are not all at 40,000 miles, & 4 years not relevant. DQ200,s no Service, DQ381,s at 80,000. Or sooner obviously. Cambelt changed. (Here in prices, book for 2 days with a 1.5 TSI ACT.)
  7. Welcome. Hopefully someone can help. Personally i would set it to 19*oC and leave it like that. The weathers hot is it not?
  8. I do not have it to share. You pay and get the info. But the Skoda Schedule has been nonsense since they changed the Minor / Interim, Major to Oil & Inspection services and Extended Scope. Check an Air Filter annually, or at Services. Just not as easy as the old days for many, even techs / fitters. How many / few cars get the Roof Serviced or even told to.
  9. Re the Merc. When i drove one exactly like that it felt like the BMW 1 Series i borrowed that was pretty like the car i think @Tilt has. 1st to 2nd gear away from junctions / stops was horrible.
  10. How it was pre June 2023. Just not according to UK Main Dealerships.
  11. Skoda / VW UK were taking the pith. The UK is counted as a Dust Free Country & should neverhave been @ 5 years / 50,000 miles. But it was a money maker. Then the 1.5 TSI ACT,s were 6.5 hours to do, £850- £1,200 quoted and not the £550 as before. Not only were owners not doing them at 50,000 miles, they were trading them in and Skoda / VW Group then have Used Cars that they would need to spend their techs time doing. Even if quicker than in 6.5 hours. If not done then FMDSH and stuff done to Guidelines was out of the door. So Simply Clever, change things. Hey presto, no more 5 years / 50,000 miles. (Check different engines, eg TDI,s)
  12. Just for clarity. This thread is about a 1.2 TSI. The 1.0 TSI is a different kettle of fish, or an engine that some have messed up doing a fan belt on and ended up with wha tis more like a bag of nails.
  13. Lasting longer means formulated to last longer. Assuming a higher quality of oil is not necessarily correct. My reason for disliking Long Life oil is not because it can cost more. I am more than happy to buy oil not long life that costs the same. Castrol as VW Recommended was and is nothing special. The French will recommend Total & Toyota even Mobile. VW Group have a reputation for warranty claims out of the manufacturers warranty, and actually through the Euro 5 generation there were plenty issues with various engines. But then that is as much the components as it is the consumables / Oil.
  14. So they have 97 ron Min. showing on the pumps & they say they have the same additives in both unleaded,s they sell. Meaning that they can have 99 ron in their tanks at some locations. Just like Tesco Momentum 99 can exceed 99 ron if buying in from Refineries or Stock for the UK after Winter Grade Petrol is not distributed on Continental Europe or elsewhere. You might notice the difference on what you get where once you have the remap. The Winter Spec petrol is mostly stopped being distributed during March. 6ca06d648b9541e78fa838fece4a1a23 (1).pdf 388380a097b04fe693a8c27db8bb4974 (1).pdf
  15. Slightly lower emissions during the WLTP Regime or the RDE2. But is it out on the road, lower fuel use, and lower emissions, and not using more oil while doing it. Win win win all down the Carbon trail.
  16. @cnc Thanks. Good to know that Tesco PLC has no financial interest now, not even in the new owners. Have they actually no financial involvement now?
  17. Running E10 95 will not do damage, it is a road car is it not, not far from London. Maybe just stick to Sainsbury, Gulf, Esso, Tesco, Shell, Taxaco, BP stations with E5. Or do you travel to North of Scotland where even their we can get E5? Costco was 99 Ron Min, is it really back to 97 ron MIN. ? 97 Min can be 99 Ron E5, they are buying in from who is selling them at a good price. Like Greeenergy (Tesco part owned) that produces the 99 Ron min for Tesco & Esso. (not Esso in all of the UK.)
  18. Best go to a tuner with a dyno. If you want better performance and your car runs well now on the Plugs, Coils Air Filter Intake then running Tesco Momentum 99 or the likes is surely worth the under £3 a tank fill extra. If you see a 98 Ron Super Unleaded & the possible ps / Nm then i take it your are looking at some ready to upload map. E5 is the UK is 97 ron min or 99 ron Min. There has been no 98 ron min on sale for well over a decade.
  19. Welcome. The 1.4 TSI iV / PHEV is never going to be underpowered as a road car in the UK. If you are carrying 4 passangers and luggage you will still be travelling at the speed others are. But are you planning on charging it at home, or work? Annual oil changes, 9,400 miles / service regime with them. Spark plugs should be changed by now. 6 speed DQ400-e 6 speed DSG should have been serviced at 40,000 miles. .................. The 2.0 TDI 7 Speed DQ381 DSG service regime is @ 80,000 miles.Plenty having premature failure. Out of Manufacturers warranty @ 3 years. You need a very good warranty covering either of the ones you are looking at IMO.
  20. Ignition coil puller required. You can make a home made. Or red neck cable ties. Best use the correct tool. Will the Auto Electrician not let you use his 'Puller'. All the tools and more than just an idea. Helps diagnose issues, not just the computer says no. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/446996-coilpack-remover=mk2-vrs Do you run the car on E5 Super Unleaded?
  21. A mile downhill in not too cold weather to get this. Going back it was ill be 4 miles a kWh.
  22. A very very good clean and rust inhibitor applied before fitting, and check if the Fuel Filler area is already rusting from behind or has been painted.
  23. Likely many will be getting leased for NHS / Carers / Social Work and local authorities as the leased MG & KIA Niro EV,s are returned. The advance payment will drop for them from Motability as well and tens of thousands will be bought by them to lease. Obviously dealers will have plenty Pre-registered sitting ready to go out. If the actual 'Winter in London', or Winter in 'Aberdeen' or more importantly not in these not very cold places the efficiency is 3.7 miles a kWh then it is 160 miles from a full battery. As the reviewers / motoring journalist well know. As they know that if the centre screen is annoying while out in the sun on the full inclusive hotel and free travel job then how is it in a right hand drive car for right handed drivers who buy / lease their cars or are given them for their job.. Good to see the space available with both or 1 rear seat down. If talking 4 in the car then show with 4 large suitcases in please. Scratchy plastic does not matter. Plastic that scratches easily if touched does. Sound Bars or Fabric Dashes are OK as long as not dusty. Easy wipe / clean scratchy plastic or rubber touch is preferable IMO. ............ There is 1 pedal driving if you want. Rear drums and front wheel drive, so sensible. As far as reviewers there are often those that comment about disliking braking and others that are positive about them. Odd really that many of them use brakes to feel them in towns, or even for spirited driving in a car that feels sporty IMO. Slow down for SPEED BUMPS, that is the point of them! I do listen to him 'Nobby on cars'. as i do to Tim Roddie, others i take with a pinch of salt. BUT, No matter is listening in the UK or Outer Mongolia, 300 km is a little under 200 miles, not a little over it. 186.4 miles if converting...Using actual conversions. He says Flat Rear Floor. Another reviewer says otherwise. He finds L for more regen, but no mention of 1 pedal selection via the screen. So is there 1 pedal to opt for, and if not opted for still more Regen at you finger tip, to use like a 'Overdrive switch' on Autos for slowing, like dropping a gear. So 1 pedal, or not one pedal, and even more regen braking? So again. 220 miles is 354 km, not 300 or close to 300.
  24. If it is a Mk2 Fabia vRS 1.4 TSI Twincharger it matters not if spark plugs were changed 20,000 miles ago. Get them out and inspect them.. 1 might be burning the tip off. Pinned thread at top of page. and so many many threads on the spark plugs. You can not rule out the plugs unless all 4 were out and inspected. ? What age of car and how many miles / km done? EDIT. I see a 2014 so a CTHE. Important to put info like that in your post / question.
