  1. Welcome. A mod will be able to move your post to the Fabia Mk2 section. Loads of threads there that you could maybe look at, and there is the Fabia Project Section as well. EDIT. Sorry if a Mk3. There is a Modifications thread on page 1 of the Fabia mk3 section that should help you. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/433171-modifying-your-fabia-mk-iii
  2. @OrsoncartThe pressures really are not important, like the 60 psi in the spare it is just the circumference really that the cars ABS system so / ESP/ESC is concerned with. ? What size tyres does your Karoq have and what size of space saver do you have?
  3. Lots around Scotland are in now Hire cars and cars from Car Clubs and should be getting shown how to charge before setting off or trying too before they go places. Now that Charge Place Scotland chargers are quite likely to play up and not read a card or even start from the app i have have given up trying to help people who are sometimes clearly upset by their first experience of trying to get a charge.
  4. Then to confuse more we can add in XDS or XDS+ from Skoda / VW Group. But maybe not relevant here, or worth thinking about. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/490648-xds-or-edl-or-xdl-differential-lock-is-it-supplied-at-all-in-the-uk http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/425322-xds
  5. So now Petrol / Diesel is still between 170-210 pence around the UK and 135 pence a litre is a wish and a dream. There are calculators to give the comparison of an ICE vs EV and maybe someone can link one. Business / Commercial users / drivers and EV / ICE comparisons will be a totally different kettle of fish. PS That average new Petrol car 49.2 mpg in 2019 looks like rubbish to me.
  6. It is good if the FSH is a history of proper servicing and not just Minor & Major servicing (Oil & Filter changes. So Pollen filter sometime in the past 2 years, a Air Filter, maybe the brake fluid changed. Paper History might well be better than the Skoda Online just showing it was at a dealership, unless that comes with the paper print outs. Just an idea of Skoda Recommendations, not guidelines or a schedule.
  7. ^^^ Those are nothing. Not minor. Is there a paper record of servicing and maintenance, invoices and receipts? Is this a manual gearbox car? ? How long has the current keeper had the car and are they a bit of a trader or just a private owner?
  8. I would pay to have the car put in for the MOT and be prepared to lose that money if you walk away, or buy the car if there is nothing much. A buyer that is sure about the car they are selling should be fine with that. Maybe not so much if they know the MOT might show up issues and get a failure.
  9. ^^^ Damn expensive. I grudge charging at the Council Chargers nearby at 23 pence a kWh but i would use them before paying more than that on my home tariff. Now to get free local charging at the supermarket i have to be there early or late or often just not get it as cars are now left on the charger for many hours. Come February i will be going homeless most likely and taking to the road from free charger to charger.
  10. Turning off TC/ Traction Control, ASR is just the front wheels is it not. ESP is different from TC. When you fit that Spare which is not too much of a different circumference if you have the right one remember to reset the TPMS as well. Even if near enough identical it is still a Temporary Spare so you will be wanting to limit your speed to 50 mph max. Different width, compound, tyre type and pressure and maybe an ickle circumference difference. Even if you go Full Size Spare if it does not match the wheel / tyre on the opposite side treat it as an Emergency Spare'. If it is a Brand New / Unused tyre on the Spare wheel then treat as a 'Green Tyre'. With care. ........................ Resetting the TPMS when fitting the spare has nothing to do with having Haldex or just FWD but just the TPMS. Then reset when back to your cars tyres all set at whatever pressures and the spare off.
  11. Enjoy the car. Look where the coolant is now when cold. Check the oil when cold and then again at operating temp then you know how it was at hand over. Check the tyre pressures suit your driving and reset the TPMS. Check the tools and security socket are all there.
  12. The issue is really when people get handed over a car that they have to go someplace with and sometimes from someone that knows nothing about them and charging. I meet people like these almost daily rocking up to a charger and with no idea what charging they can use and how long it will take them to get some miles into the car. A big label in the car, even on the sun visor telling them what the car is and what to use might well be 'Simply too clever' .
  13. I go to several hubs with 4-6 50 kW CCS chargers with 43 kW AC chargers on the side and some with 22 kW AC. I know there are Zoe drivers that get peed off because they are occupied by drivers using them with cars that just charge at 7 or 11 kW while there are 7 or 11 or 22 kW chargers there that they could use if the bothered getting their cables out or even knew what was what. 6 50kW DC chargers @ Edinburgh with 30 mins max charging time, then there are 3 22 kW posts so 6 plugs that have a 3 hour max charging time. Then there are the plentiful 7 kW's that you can be on for 12 hours. ............... Fortunately here the first row of chargers are 22 kW ones but the 2 EV's are on 43kW AC chargers getting their 11kW if even that.
  14. 22 kW is perfectly fine when you have access to 22 kW chargers if your max charging speed is 22 kW AC . There are not that many of them at hubs already or going into charging hubs in the UK. Businesses / fleets and individuals might be fine with them now but the issue will be down the line when 2022 /23 22 kW AC cars go on the used market. .................... 22 kW AC charging would be lovely to have some places where there are virtually no 50 kW public chargers like near Macduff / Banff (1 in Banff) but you get a couple of chargers posts with 22 kW points (Macduff) . Not much help for those wanting to get about a tourist area with just 7 or even 11 kW AC charging.

  16. ^^^ Private drivers using their own money to buy or lease cars and buy the electricity at home or at public chargers. Business / commercial EV drivers who have a vehicle as a work requirement are making saving with tax and are getting VAT back on public charging. As high users they might well have subscriptions for charger networks and are paying lower prices. Businesses and individuals are getting Grants & Loans to buy EV's for their business's or work. http://parkers.co.uk/vans-pickups/advice/electric-van-grant http://gov.uk/plug-in-vehicle-grants Scotland. http://insider.co.uk/news/scottish-government-pledges-30-million-27168802 Used EV's. http://energysavingtrust.org.uk/grants-and-loans/used-electric-vehicle-loan
  17. @Superb2022Welcome. ? How many km has your car covered? ? Has the DSG had an oil change @ 64,000 km?
  18. Best that you give some more clues. So how many miles has it done and how long have you had it? ? Has it just started doing this and how soon after you start it and have driven is it before it just stops or cuts out, and is this at any speed? ? In what way are they messing about, have they no idea what is wrong or have they done some checks? EDIT. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/495643-car-wouldnt-move Is it still this Yeti?
  19. http://heycar.co.uk/guides/what-is-skoda-approved-used VW Group own Heycar....
  20. They always have these 'offers' and you need to find the T&C's that applied to what you got when you got it. This is on a website now.
  21. Receipts for what was paid for at Services is sometimes all you get as an idea of what was done at a service, and the Invoice for the parts and consumables. A Variable Service if just an Engine Oil & Filter Service and look see and report is not that much. Minor, Major Services with the Major having a Pollen Filter change was only too common. Then the Haldex falls into being at 3 years as does brake fluid changes (then they are at 2 years) so that does not tie in with 2nd year, 4th year, 6th year servicing. All just, recommendations, guidelines, suggestions until recently when Skoda use the word Schedule.
  22. Cracking has always been an issue with tyres as long as there has been tyres. Not always the same brand or tyre type and maybe not on identical cars that have the same tyres and get used in the same area or get parked in the same parking place. Hit or miss really which tyres people might have that end up with cracking or shorter lives. But then tyres are made all over the world by lots of different factories and that can even apply to tyres from the same Manufacturer.
  23. The Paper Work showing work done or invoiced for is very important because the Online Service Records are not always that good. Skoda Main Dealers only do what they get paid to do and not all tell customers what is required such as the DSG servicing or the Haldex or if they do the Haldex actually do it properly.
