  1. @wyx087did the cars you were driving show the tyre pressures on the screen or did you know if they were at a sensible and safe pressure before road testing? Too many peoples impressions of cars handling are based on cars that roll out of dealerships with ridiculous pressures. There has never enough journalists or bloggers that actually check just what they are driving and then name and shame who handed the cars over as they were.
  2. @VGMFIs it on when you unfasten the Seat Belt or open the door? Is the car a manual or a DSG?, not that it matters.
  3. Some guy at Skoda Finance did that was making decisions that day. He might go far and become a boss, or if he costs the VW Group enough money by dismissing stuff he might be gone. But then VW are their own worse enemy & they really would rather pee off customers / renters than actually be spending out on parts and labour on having stuff right.
  4. Fleet / Leased / Motability Vehicles at hand back are often photographed by the person doing the inspection and these pictures are what people are looking at when buying cars at the likes on BCA / British Car Auctions online. The spindles are a fault even though only a cosmetic one and i doubt a Dealership employee or a Skoda / VW Customer Services employee would accept that on a car they owned and paid for with their own money. If those renting a car just ignore stuff like that then so be it, but pointing out stuff where there are quality control issues that should matter to the VW Group is the right thing to do. So employee dismissing things like this is sadly only too common and why the buying public lose confidence in manufacturers and there aftesales.
  5. Pleased to see him mention the delivery tyre pressures. Ridiculous they were handed over the pressure that they were, but surely as a car dealer he knows the Transit Pressures are for the sake of strapping the cars down on ships, transporters etc.
  6. CVT's have never been something that bothered me as everyone i have owned or driven were very efficient and i never expected them to sound like a manual or auto. The cars went forward and picked up speed which is all that i was wanting them to do. Loved my Daf & Volvo CVT's and they were certainly not rubbish.
  7. If he bothered to check the tyre pressures cold and set at a pressure for the conditions & put the interior heating to 18*oC as i do the range might have improved. (But i am comfortable at 18*oC, others might not be.) Little changes make important differences when trying to get places. Arriving at chargers charging slow or blocked by EV's parked on chargers for hours is a PITA. Today at 6*oC i got 4 miles to the kWh going just 25 miles to the coast but only 3.1 miles kWh on the return journey. Last week at over 10*oC that was 4.5 miles going and 4 coming home, same speed and time taken each time. Miles covered and time is all fine with the car and phone app but the phone app has gone all wrong / optimistic with the estimate on range available. I only have a 45 kWh usable battery and at 4 miles per kWh that would be 180 miles. 3.1 miles would be 139.5. (That is unless an over the air update that had 3,000 miles off the cars actual miles covered since new has allowed more usable battery in the calculations. Something to do with Stellantis saying the new models perform better or more efficiently, but i doubt that and it will just be a brain /IT fart.)
  8. As i was starting to read this on here the video popped up on my phone so i will take that as a message to try one. The range at motorway speeds in an empty car on winter tyres with the temperature above freezing really is not enough for winter travel in Scotland IMO. Even doing an average 50mph in cold Scottish winter weather it will need charging too often. If using only 50 kW max chargers if that is all that is available the charging is too slow if you are in the Highlands with a max 45 minute charge time.
  9. There is a linked article about production from the 1st and from the 3rd of the month, so maybe Statements from Skoda 2 weeks on are relevant. The Neon Gas exported from Ukraine or not as the case might be is going to have a major affect on the production on chips.
  10. The driver of the white Mach-e that parks on the 43 kW AC at Stirling also parks up at the Rapids @ Ingilston Park & Ride for hours. ............................ In Angus even though the Council Car Park charges are suspended there are Parking Wardens putting tickets on EV's / Hybrids at chargers charging but if the CPS chargers have cut out early because of faults which is common they are putting tickers on the cars and the drivers /keepers are not getting these overturned at appeal. The notices do say you can only park in the bays if charging but then they were and still would be if the charger never cut them off and the warden sees a Green Light for Available rather than a Blue, or even a Red light so put a ticket on the vehicle.
  11. @Calvinmk2 Welcome. Have you looked in the Fabia Project section to see what others have done?
  12. Talk with the Dealer Principal and see how they want to deal with the issues. Not the Service Desk Staff. They might need a Master Tech to explain cars to them. The temperature sensor should not have the TPMS giving warnings. ? Have you had the Haldex Serviced, not just the oil changed?
  13. @rogerdyer At the service did they check or reset the tyre pressures then reset the TPMS. Or have you reset the TPMS. It needs doing. Their issue as they caused it if the car was all fine as you delivered it. How many miles difference from you handing the car in to you collecting it? As in how far did they take it on a road test? ??? 2nd variable service on a 2019 car so has the Haldex been Serviced? 3 years / 30,000 mile interval or sooner.
  14. @charleybourneYou said in the OP that you had a letter from Skoda that the car is delayed again, so what was the Build / Production date that the car had been given before this one in 6 weeks? It seems very very optimistic from the Dealership.
  15. What ever the budget brings will be what it is. Since the other Hybrid thread has been locked i thought while charging at a public charger about EV's & Hybrids. Something i notice is how friendly those charging can be, not all obviously, but i do find that Hybrid drivers chargers seem to be friendlier than EV drivers. For singles or just those that like to mingle maybe getting an electrified vehicle and doing public charging is as good as dating sites or the likes. @Lady Elanoremight already be aware of this and just how many George Clooney look-a-likes there are about. ................................ When my Corsa goes in for a service & recall actions i am hoping to be able to arrange getting an Astra Plug in Hybrid to drive for a few days. I would like to try the New Astra for comfort in a non-crossover car as i am thinking on an Astra Sports Touring EV next year when i change cars or maybe sooner if i hand the Corsa back early.
  16. Towed with front wheels on a dolly I hope or on a trailer/ flatbed.
  17. Even more of a case of apples and pears then.
  18. @Routemaster1461A 1.5 TSI with ACT and a totally different DSG as in a 7 speed dry clutch one if that is what you have is really comparing apples and pairs with a 2.0 TSI 7 speed wet clutch DSG.
  19. Any Euro 5 engine car is the old emission standards and any early Euro 6 before Euro 6d was discontinued (In the EU but maybe not other World Regions) as emissions change and we get to Euro 7 in 2025 or whenever engines / vehicles prior to that need manufacturer support. VW Group will still be producing parts or having them produced. So an 8 year old car gets a new engine. As has happened since 2010 with 1.4 TSI Twinchargers, and can happen now 8 years after production of the Mk2 Fabia and others with this engine stopped. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/449229-new-engine-is-not-a-new-engine The VW Group have a factory in Germany that refinishes / refurbishes engines and these are for global sales. Many Warranty Replacement engines are from this source. The Engine blocks are retained and rebuilt with new internals and are sold as base engines. There is no difference between a new engine and a refurbished one. They are readily available and will continue to be long into the future. There are companies all around the world that will rebuild engines. @Yogi-BearDo you really think that the VW Group do not support owners of vehicles in World Regions that do not have the WLTP emissions as the World Harmonisation test is not actually world wide. They even have to supply replacement parts for vehicles that they built and sold illegally and had to withdraw from sale. There are courts / authorities around the world that could tear them a new one. http://bbc.co.uk/news/business-34410390
  20. The Oil Change interval is @ 40,000 miles / 65,000 km. It would be nice if it is a battery on connection issue. Best find where the leak is from and if it is from the MCU and there is any pressure issues. Your box has the same oil in the box and mcu. ........................... The DQ200 DSG's that do not get oil changes have 2 oils, 1 in the MCU and different oil in the dry clutch box.
  21. @MarkBuck9 I know what they are, i just fail to understand why anyone doing the work 4 months ago never did an oil change. Finding where the leak is needs doing.
  22. @MarkBuck9 If the clutches were replaced 4 months ago why was the car at the main dealers getting the oil changed was the oil not changed 4 months ago. Seems like it is the person that did the work 4 months ago that you might need to be talking with after you have words with the Dealerships manager.
  23. It looks like you are going to have to leave that to the professionals.
  24. Any plans for the Lithium Oxide & hydroxide coming from the Ukraine any time soon might need a rethink.
  25. Welcome. It can not be moved to manual when the shifter is in S.
