  1. & the tank capacity is the capacity of a tank even if out of the car. How much the tank holds. When fitted in the car there is the Up the Pipe capacity to add, and be careful you are not Venting a Tank if filling it til you can see the fuel.
  2. Welcome. What engine has the car got, a TSI or a TDI? 1.2, 1.4, 1.8 TSI or 1.6 TDI. How many miles has it done? I take it since you say a 7 speed DSG and a 2010 you have a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG. There was a Service Campaign in 2014 for those from 2009-2012 to change the oil from Synthetic to Mineral & do a software update. Check in the spare tyre well and see if there is a sticker with '34F7' on it and a date. It could need a reset, it could have a MCU (Mechatronic Control Unit) issue, it could need clutch plates. It might need all or none of these. ?? Who are the DSG magicians in your area? They should know all there is to know if they are that experienced with DSG's including DQ200's. They should know what can save you lots of money with repair kits if they are all your DSG needs.
  3. @hanfIs it a Skoda Approved Used Car with a 12 month or 24 month Warranty? Does it say FMDSH (Full Main Dealer Service History) ? I would ask if that is serviced to the manufacturers recommendations, so as a customer would be told it needs to be to have a Skoda Waaranty, not just a history of stuff done and stuff not done, like the AC service they tell customer is required. ? Was the Haldex service last year or are you getting it done this year by them now? It is @ 30,000 miles or 3 years or even sooner, and properly serviced not just the oil changed. THIS MIGHT BE MORE IMPORTANT THAT ANY CONCERN ABOUT THE DSG, MORE LIKELY TO FAIL. Hopefully those at the dealership were able to correctly advice you on that. ................. What servicing has it had? Like, Pollen filter changed at 2 years or last year and maybe getting changed now. Brake fluid changed at 3 years or maybe being changed or at least tested now.
  4. Welcome. No need to be worried about Wet Clutch DSG's which anything above 180 ps will have. (180ps or less FWD have DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG's. Avoid a 1.2 TSI older than 2013 then or a Euro 5 1.8 / 2.0 TSI if you are worried or get someone that knows what is what to help you with a cars history or service history. You have a good budget but are buying at a time where there are crazy asking prices.
  5. ^^^ As above, it is DQ200 DSG 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG's that have no service intervals, no recommendations for Oil Changes. (Fitted to FWD (front wheel drive) vehicles with 250 Nm or under and 192ps or under, 1.0,1.2,1.4, 1.5,1.8 TSI or 1.4,1.6 TDI's.) The DQ200 DSG is not used with AWD's so cars with Haldex. ** so 1.4 or 1.5 TSI with Haldex do not have a DQ200 DSG.** So is it a 40,000 mile or 80,000 miles Oil Change DSG? Best get a Service Desk Person / Receptionist to ask the Master Tech and not another Receptionist.
  6. It is months since I have been out on my bikes because of the weather and other circumstances. So diabetic bloods given last week, blood pressure checked which I knew was a bit high. I have my artificial leg for cycling sorted out as that was an issue and the bikes are ready to go. Up early ready to go with a plan for the next few weeks of getting into my usual routine of routes and trips as the weather and my fitness improves. So torrential rain this morning and now on hold until tomorrow or maybe it things dry up later. Appointment made for bloods check in a month's time. I do not want any changes in medication other than reducing to what is was on when doing a few thousand miles a year by bike.
  7. All Continental European cars should have the Speed Warning for 'Winter Tyres' as otherwise a Sticker is required in some countries. I am surprised if any Skoda Models but especially the biggest and in the past the most expensive models do not have that in the system someplace that an owner can set as it is required in some countries and is not just for owners to be aware what tyres are fitted but for anyone driving that vehicle.. Lesser Skoda models do have the options of 2 Speed Warning Settings. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/447176-winter-tyre-speed-warning http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/445641-winter-tyre-setting http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/401414-turning-of-the-winter-tyre-warning
  8. @MarkBuck9Welcome. The issue is if the small leak was from the MCU that is something that needed checking out and not just telling you about, or after you were told you needed to agree to more of an investigation. They did the Oil Change at the Dealership, took your money and really by doing so they are now a bit responsible as in the guarantee their work. Their employee should have spotted the leak and maybe not done the DSG service if the leak needed investigated. Speak with the Dealer Principal not the service desk manager or Workshop Manager or the Master Tech before they do a diagnosis. Just so they know that they can not wash their hands of the issue by saying there was a leak. If it is the clutch packs then so be it, but the engine or DSG is not supposed to leak oil / transmission oil.
  9. @komoornik Would you be changing coding or using VCDS to alter the Speedo /milometer to suit the different tyre circumference? If it is the 'Winter Tyre' speed warning setting you are thinking of that is a totally different thing.
  10. Car dash showing it having done only 12,003 miles & a service spanner, so over 11,000 miles clocked off the car and showing a range of 118 miles. On a slow charger now but later I will put it on a 100 kW charger and see if that shocks it back to reality.
  11. This morning as i check myVauxhall phone app to see how the charge is compared to last nights 92% and 124 mile range it is showing 180 miles which is nice as i have not seen that even at 100% since last summer. Odd thing is the car is showing as having done 3,000 miles less than yesterday. Last week at one point the car dash showed 10,000 miles lower than it had done at 12,000 miles. I will see what the car shows when i get to it. Over the air updates gone wrong. Last week parked near a major route the car locked me out and everything was shut off and back to factory settings. ie in Spanish.
  12. Motability Cars are not put to the back of the queue. Motability Finance buys the cars outright, the money transfers as the car is handed over. The UK is Skoda's 5th biggest market and Motability is the biggest group buyer in the UK. (Skoda is still a low volume seller in the UK though.) Motability are getting good discounts on cars but then Motability Customers are the ones that are often ordering the poor selling models that Skoda need to get first registered and getting the ones as they did in the past 2 years that Skoda / VW Group needed to get First Registered when they were chasing the Low Average C02 figure. The Karoq, Kodiaq or Enyaq are not available this quarter from Motability. 63288 SK Motability Price List - Q1 2022 - AW v3.pdf
  13. Motor at the rear but still there needed to be plenty packaged at the front as with any VW EV's.
  14. @kentaylor Welcome. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/486314-yeti-commercial
  15. The chain tensioners got an update / upgrade, the issues were before your car.
  16. @Noddydog You have a 2013 Mk2 Fabia 1.2 TSI Euro 5 emissions so a cam chain and not the later 1.2 TSI with a cam belt. If the cars runs fine and there is not rattles then chill. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/468857-timing-chain-issues
  17. Confusion can be from 103 bhp / 105 PS if that is what you have. It is a Cam Chain Engine. (Plenty threads in this section on them. Plenty about chains and rattle and early ones to 2012) From the Wiki page.
  18. OK, we are off track again and back to the cost of EV's and travel and not just a place to find the Price Rises. So 50 pence a kWh taking you 3 miles means that £7 takes you 42 miles. (4 miles per kWh = 56 miles.) the 3 miles per kWh @ 50 pence is pretty near the £7.25 a gallon cost of travel if you get 42 mpg. What we will see is how much the costs rise in comparison this year if we are working on 50 pence a kWh for people needing to get someplace and pay that and the now 160 pence a litre for petrol that might have a litre take you around 10 miles. so 45 mpg. PS Business users, people going places and doing stuff might well have to charge where and when they can. Maybe those getting mileage allowances are going to be perfectly fine with the cost of Rapid public charging, but those paying from their own pocket might not. Home and workplace charging costs are a totally different matter for Commercial Public Chargers or Local Authority provided ones.
  19. @ords Only if you do not have the Services carried out to the Manufacturers Recommendations @ a VAT registered establishment etc etc to the Warranty T&C's. Nothing says you can not service or do oil changes between Oil & Filter changes 'to the manufacturers recommendations.
  20. @Ju1ian1001 Sorry to hear this. Was your car one that was part of the Service Campaign '34H5' started in 2017 on some DQ200's from 2013-2015 ? This was a software update introduced because of heat & pressure issues which could cause breakage and cracks and failures after the Service Campaign in on 2009-2012 DQ200's changing the oil from Synthetic to mineral and the software update.
  21. Hopefully @Carlstonwill be along with all the info you should ever need.
  22. @SkOmk4 I never said anything about the car coming from Russia. The factories in the Ukraine manufactured parts for Skoda, and that is the important part of it. Russian and Ukraine supply materials required for the manufacturing of parts. FAQs – Ukraine - ŠKODA Storyboard.mhtml
  23. If you have 17" rims & If you go 215, to 225 or 235 you can not keep 55 each time as that is 55% of the 215. 55% of 225. 55% of 235. ie the circumference of the tyres is getting more and more, the tyres are to tall. https://www.willtheyfit.com
  24. Things have moved on since the fire when Russia invaded the Ukraine and car parts and car manufacturing is stopping in factories.
