European Road Trip Car Advice
Welcome to the forum and have fun. You are going yo have to check a AWD system in a Skoda or any cars is actually working and then service it before going. This is particularly true with a Haldex System. So in good condition and servicing recently done it certainly should be reliable. Whichever car you choose to take needs servicing before the trip.

Zoe ZE50 First Impressions
Something must give, like lack of grip / traction / friction and basically the vehicle being a ditch finder but maybe not quite as bad at 40mph. I would rather be charging 50 miles sooner than driving something with crap braking because of crap tyres.

Fabia mk4 pricelist
About time a right hand drive was tested before What Car / Autocar have it as car of the year and nobody has one in right hand drive.

Zoe ZE50 First Impressions
40 mph max on the right road of more downs than up might get you 5 miles per kWh at mid teens celsius. Stuffed if the return trip needs the use of the same route. http://renault.co.uk/electric-vehicles/zoe/battery.html

Temperature inside an airbox
Black OEM Air filter boxes like some cars have sitting at the back corner of an engine compartment can get very hot inside. Dark Bonnet closed and sitting in traffic with sun beating down, or before or after a Sprint or Run up a 1/4 mile. Many ways to get intake temps, OBD etc, i use the simplest, a £1.99 Digital Fridge Thermometer works. That is good for reading Cold Air Intake temps, engine compartment temps and many other things like, tyres, brake discs or a passengers temp. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/282048-induction-kit http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/469736-forge-induction I have used them in a dipstick tube to check oil temp. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/461244-help-a-new-2011-vrs-owner/page/4

DSG holding gears
'Faults' are covered by warranties. It might be a feature some do not like but that does not then become a fault.

Large brake pedal movement on heavy braking.
When was the brake fluid last changed? Had it it tested even for h20 content. Has there been any inspection of the brakes and any servicing in recent times?

Delayed ignition cycle... start motor issue?
@J.R. Some will just call their nearest or dearest & sit in their car and wait or call the 4 or 5 emergency service when they have a puncture or run out of fuel.
-
Delayed ignition cycle... start motor issue?
Remember that when the car has sat a while as and you get in the car the fuel primes. That is the driver's door. The car had sat using a small amount from the battery. Opening the door uses some and then priming uses some. Then the ignition on. No idea why having checked a battery a few months ago had anything to do with checking now. Now is when the issue was posted.

Ordered my Scala mid July, still no factory build week
Stored exactly like new cars are for weeks or months on Runways of airports. As happened just the same for months but over a winter as Skoda waited for WLTP Certification then export just a few years back and those vehicles are just going out of warranty now. So new cars not yet run in. Rather different from used cars that no longer are new so less protection on them that sit at Dealerships / Compounds / Car supermarkets or Car Hire pounds for weeks, month or even years as some have now during lockdown. At least in the Czech Republic the TSI's will not be sitting with a few litres of pre winter spec E10 95 ron petrol in the tanks maybe just pre winter spec E5. The TDI's might be getting Winter Spec Diesel put in at the factory in expectation of them sitting out in what might be a hard winter. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/green-row-over-scots-council-25072357

Any value in my Fabia?
It costs very little to advertise it and ask for offers and see what is offered if anything.

Delayed ignition cycle... start motor issue?
Actually checking that the 6 year old battery is ok would be an easy start to a diagnosis. If on the way out best not get stuck.

Any value in my Fabia?
Briskoda forum classifieds would be a good place. Repair need not be too expensive. See page 8 of the pinned thread on the DSG service campaign. Your car will be one of the ones that was built and part of the service campaign 34F7 and might have had it done and before those that did not need it is or those that got 34H5. Built between 2013 -2015. Look see if a sticker in the spare tyre well. 34F7;was the synthetic oil changed to mineral and a software update. @Mickmartinmight be able to give advice. @Nige1003 Where are you?

Build Date and Delivery Time to Dealer
Welcome. You had best look at the delivery threads in the various sections including Kodiaq, Karoq, Scala, Octavia Mk4 and Enyaq. eg http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/490411-delivery-times/page/32 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/497928-ordered-my-scala-mid-july-still-no-factory-build-week There is a shutting down of the factory again being spoken about. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/498184-skoda-production-to-almost-halt-for-the-rest-of-2021-due-to-chip-shortage Finishing the cars that are built and stored waiting for chips before more are built. There are members that ordered months ago with possible delivery dates in early 2022, now even Summer 2022. Best you speak again to your dealership, but maybe fingers crossed you will e lucky.

Cupra 280 vs Octavia 245
Well now that can not be said of Mk4 Octavia can it? Maybe once Skoda get snagging issues and quality control sorted.
-
Cupra 280 vs Octavia 245
@DC04R Is that SEAT Leon Cupra's of the same age as Mk3 Octavia, or Cupras in general now when not with SEAT before their name?

Can I change from 18" wheels to 16" wheels?
Welcome. Who you ask at a dealership matter. (Asking local drug dealers might be better as they can get you wheels in any size or know someone that can.) Asking someone at Skoda Dealership needs someone that knows about cars, so not a salesperson, service desk or parts person. maybe ask a tech. The Car Valeter or the cleaner in the showroom likely knows more about wheels. There answer might not be about what you can do, or what fits, but the 'Official Line', Car type approved for this size or that, emissions / VED etc etc. Look at the size that the Owners Manual says is the size that Snow Chains can be used on. That is an Approved Size. If your Spare fits then you know the issue is not the size of the brakes. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/485362-kamiq-all-season-tyres http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/488988-ride-quality-18"-and-17"-wheels http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/474398-1965r15-tyres

Get it Ready For Winter
That time again. Lots of mornings with condensation inside or freezing inside even in dry cars time is near. Time for carpets out and rubber mats in. Door seal holes cleared at the bottom of Skoda Models. Treat the Rubbers / Seals, hinges, locks. Winter Screen Wash. Coolant / Anti freeze strength checked. Oil checked, Check and fit Clean / dry Pollen Filter. Clean Air Filter. Fuel Filter maybe. Battery Condition. Spark Plugs. Basically a pre winter Service / Check. Wheels / Tyres, pressures, condition, do the wheels actually come off if there are rear drums on? Get in the De-icer or Pre-ice if you use that. Extra stuff not needed out of car and winter essentials in. Demist Pads, cloths etc (remove when wet and dry) Torch, shovel if you need. Damp Traps bought & maybe one in the car & one in the boot , while supplies are good and price low.

Replacement Windscreen
Discussion it with your insurers will let you know their thinking on it. The windscreen gets fixed you pay the excess and you can tell the Police how much your loss was. Do you have a Crime report number, officers number etc. Likely you are stuck with the £75 or whatever.

2022 model
Elsewhere someone has posted their car arrived with 1 key with the second to arrive later. Simply clever,. If Skoda deliver 1 million cars a year then 1 million chips to be used later. Multiply VW group vehicles X 10 and more cars can be finished and delivered and paid for. Short term solution.

Front Assist and automatically activated (False alarm) in a busy Centre London.
Since you know of the risk you have to do one or both of those of those things if the sensitivity can not be adjusted.

Superb IV DSG left in neutral issue?
@aerofurb It would be the e-brake / parking brake that would be on. Rear wheels, not 'auto brake function' if you mean Autohold. P front locked, e-Brake / rear parking brake.

GETTING THE BEST OUT OF KAROQ DSGs
Not really as you have a 1.5 TSI / ACT. Different modes for different roads. Should be a song.
