Cruise or Limiter - what do you prefer?
I always do left foot braking because i have no right foot. As to the Semi Automatic DSG,s it is fine if you are sure not to brake and accelerate. Are you saying you are on the brake and on the accelerator. Is this with the Kodiaq? ? Did you trail brake using a DSG on track? Was it a wet clutch or dry clutch DSG. The VW Rally Teams used Golf or Passat,s as reccy cars, cars with DSG,s and they could not Map out at that time so they could use Brake and Accelerator. These days anyone with a DSG should just find a safe road and then use the Accelerator & Brake at the same time, you know what you are doing so it is not like someone doing it in error.

Mpg 1.6tdi
I have had 2.0 TDI,s and in cold weather it could be 15-20 miles before the oil was showing 90*oC. They could do 55- over 60 mpg and used just for short trips like 3 - 5 miles might use a gallon every 25 miles. Averages might be 45 mpg from a tank. On a long run over 60 mpg.
-
Mpg 1.6tdi
The oil is taking a while to get to the Efficient operating temperature. It would not really use 4.56 litres to go 17 miles only, the coolant is heating the engine and oil and then you are getting the mpg you are or near the indicated. Warmer weather and it will get the good mpg figure quicker if the ambient temp starting is not so cold. If you brim the car and do however many miles, say 400 and then brim it and see how many miles a litre you get. The average MPG once you do the maths.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
There is no way that there are enough ground floor homes or ones with a ground level parts and vehicle access to the property, be that a drive, parking in England to get the numbers they suggest with high rise flats, blocks, properties split, flats over shops, offices etc etc. There are properties that have occupants with multiple vehicles etc. There are housing & accommodation areas without a road that takes you to that close to the property and those are everyplace and anyplace around the UK. There might be emergency vehicle access and deliveries etc but not car parking.

TSI engines

TSI engines
^^^ Interesting. @CaptainPrice On a phone you can not see your location or vehicle. I had no idea you are in Ireland but that does not matter. VW Group have a nice economic 116ps 2.0 TDI engine. I had never heard of the 115 ps 1.5 TSI.

the truth about electric cars
^^ They not only get their thanks in heaven, they get directorship, consultancy work, lobbying etc & jobs for family members. Sometimes even while still a MP or MP and Minister. They do the merry go around and some get the Brucie Bonus and then get back into the Commons, or go to The House of Lords, the best gravy train of all. I listen to Gordon Brown the other night. I always thought the Son of the Manse a snouter. He was. Now the involvement with Food Banks and Everything Banks with the help of Amazon & others he has was quite touching. He does seem to really now feel for the poorest of children. Obviously him and Blair, Alistair Darling, Peter Mandelson and the rest have caused much of the poverty.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
The idea was to keep the oil and gas where it has been for billion of years for a bit longer and not let Westminster p!5h it up the wall on daft projects just for the benefit of England like Train lines, or hiring ferries from companies without ferries or putting thousands of EV chargers into London where nearly every person seemingly has a car and a drive and the streets are not only paved with gold but heated so that where a cable needs to cross a pavement there is no snow or ice. Heated from Renewables generated oop north and cheap down south.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
^^^ Exactly. They crapped themselves that Scotland might go and now they know that NI could go to the EU and part of GB Energy with it. Scottish Budget going through it seems as Scottish Labour abstain. Scottish Labour needs to split from Labour and the 2 child benefit cap, Winter Fuel Payment cancelled etc. After all the Barnett Formula is just money back to Scotland that Westminster got from Natural Resources from Scotland taxed and the duties, food, beverage and oil and gas.

the truth about electric cars
We have a Labour Government now and a Prime Minister who knows about a Beer and a carry out while having a break on a busy day where others are knocking their pan in. . Times must be changing, Perks are for politicians not plebs. A fair pay for the few and taxation benefiting the best off.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
Right now Darren Jones MP The Exchequer Secretary for the treasury was speaking about UK Energy and The Crown Estate bill in the House of Commons, Westminster. He had to be reminded, Crown Estate and England, Wales & Northern Ireland and not Crown Estate Scotland that has been dealt with at another time.. Borrowing etc, for 'GB Energy'. They really are a pretty hopeless and hapless bunch. They need to Stop saying The Nation, or This Country if it is only 3 parts of the UK and not the whole UK. RE 'GB Energy.' This is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
84% of any figures published by civil servant on behalf of the UK government should not be trusted and the other 17% is because they can not count. Know nothing really, even how many houses or accomodation should be paying council tax.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
'16% of the nation' That is the Nation of England not the UK. The guidance might by for UK wide Local Authorities, but actually even if it say it is i think it i not.

1.0 TSI 95hp Camshaft Slow Response
The recommended schedule of 40,000 miles / 4 years might seem to often but there are those with 1.0 TSI 3 cylinders seeing a plug failure long before that. A failing plug can reduce the inginition coils life.

the truth about electric cars
It is ridiculous if Dundee City Council have not made an allowance for WAV Diesel Taxis. Passengers that are Blue Badge Holders or have Taxi / Bus / Train passes as Disabled should be able to have the exemption used by the Driver by texting a code. http://tiktok.com/@stvnews/video/7420368493553421600

the truth about electric cars
'Perception' I think he is talking guff about Dundee and the LEZ as he sits at the Forfar Road / Kingsway traffic lights and not at the city centre. Aberdeen and Dundee City Centres being quite different. I never understand why drivers carry on to Dundee to then head towards Perth and cross the Tay when they could have turned off at Forfar and headed cross country. Especially in an EV which does it using less electricity and does not mean being in the snarled up traffic in Dundee. Same be it going to Edinburgh, Perth or to Glasgow.

BEV Estates. There are only a few.
No they never did because they were 9 3/4 inch longer than the hatch and with different rear springs and Skoda had false Kerb Weight published for them. I put one on a weigh bridge. Maybe Police / Military Dog Handlers will get ID7 Estates instead of an ID4. A Light Commercial Van version would make sense for VW Group in the UK to make available. That will help them reach the Sales percentage of BEV,s required.

TSI engines
Welcome. Is that a typo and is it 1.5 TSI ACT,s with 150 ps, or which 1.5 TSI have only 115 ps? There are 1.0 tsi with 115ps.

1.0 TSI 95hp Camshaft Slow Response
Welcome. The VW508 00 / 509 00 so 0w 20 FS IV oil was recommended by VW Group / Skoda because your engine has a GPF. (& because they went to that for WLTP Certification.) The oil changed should not have made any difference but then you noticed it. ? Has your car had the Spark Plugs changed now for the 2nd time?

LED Front Fog lights
Then you do not have Front Fog Lamps though & as it is they are the wrong reflectors.

Amazing Fuel Efficiency 1.5 Petrol Estate
Not just 1.5 TSI manual though, a 1.5 TSI ACT manual.

BEV Estates. There are only a few.
I reckon many a director, self employed person or employee could not give a monkeys back end about the VED after the first year. Look just at the Monthlies and do they want or need one and off they go and get it leased. The Accountant will be the one that might say yae or nae to that vehicle. As to private individuals there are plenty who get what they want and when they want it. Cars / Estate cars are actually just a tool of the trade for those that need them and they are not driving something uncomfortable if they have a choice.
