You can not have 'Cheap AC Charging points' where anyone and everyone just leaves an EV parked and plugged in for as long as they like, and then also for those just stopping a while. Well the whole of the UK can not, but it looks like London will get, even though supposedly more than half of everyone with a home has off street parking. I do wish some lazy barstewards would bother using their cable and actually use the AC Ports and not park for hours using tethered AC or DC and then stay once fully charged, Locked in, not charging, not getting Fined for Overstaying.

What a plastering about for the 'about 10*oC, colder earlier' in the video posted earlier. There really is reasons that people can not be bothered with all the car about EV,s, cold weather etc. Loads of guff about pre-conditioning etc. ........ freezing is sort of cold weather, not 10*oc. 'Once a week to 100%' Is that it, every 7 days regardless of usage, miles covered, how often charged at what ever speeds?

The Dealer might not know, but does a Mechanic. It is not as though the same has not happened for many years now with TDI,s and diesel diluting the oil. They as in the dealership will need to talk to Skoda and resolve the issue. ? Is the car out of Manufacturers warranty before this started happening.?

@Dines Am i missing something? Over the decades when i required wider bars i fitted exactly that and cut down to what i required so as not to have too much over the cars width.

Pretty common cars top speeds might be higher now than 40 or 50 years and further back in the UK but many are still only doing 75-80 mph at the highest on roads with a 70 limit and occasionally doing that with overtakes in NSL,s, or risking it for a biscuit. As to older cars on UK roads, yes there are ones used occasionally, taken out for tuns. Really the number of cars used as dailies are few and far between from the 1970,s / 80,s.

3rd car been parking up now wanting to charge, they are heading for ferry. Big battery cars. AC tethered out of order for at least 3 days and I thought I would need to go to AC posts as CCS cutting out when I used ElectroVerse. After 3 attempts used the CPS card and started charging and had stayed on. Just going for a walk and will keep an eye on it to see light stays blue till charged. I need 100 miles of range.

I think that getting a used gearbox that is more than 12 years old which a Tiptronic will be is not worth it. It might never of had an automatic fluid change as VW never gave Tiptronics a service schedule. ? Has your gearbox ever been serviced,?

Google removing mould from car interior. Plenty sites online with advice and also YouTube's. There are various products. IME on fabrics best start with water and lemon juice and cleaning off and drying out. Properly drying. Wiping down plastics can use the same, or non string detergents, baby shampoo. You only go stronger once you see if this works. Plenty internet advice if you look. But do not go soaking stuff to start with. How long has the car been parked up without airing ? You are making going to have to get moisture out of the underlay.

@tosois Autohold enabled? When you are parking I assume you are pressing the brake pedal. Are you pressing hard enough that Autohold actuates? Then as you move that goes off, as happens when you go to P and the e-brake activated target than Autohold.

My bad. At the Athletics Arena chargers the charger cut out on me. So most likely had on the cars plugged in and the guy that pulled up and stated charging and left after a few minutes. They must be waiving the £5 minimum charge at the moment with the chargers being so crap. E-volt chargers, e-volt owned by Swarco who administer Charge Place Scotland. Who also do the maintenance for most of the 32 local authorities in Scotland in Scotland. Surely the Power Capacities and common issues being so well known over the past 13 years of CPS and a common denominator on the equipment and management should have by now raised concerns over the spending of public money and a Monopoly with Public Charging and who is doing very nicely out of it financially. Yet the set up not fit for purpose in many regions.

The car park was jam packed full as something on in the Big Top in the Athletics Arena. The cars plugged in and not charging might well have drivers and passengers coming back and expecting the car fully charged for heading home. This is the issue at many park and rides. Even the AC chargers cutting out and no charge as the driver expected. Phone Apps a necessity to check cars level. Not that that is any use when a train, plane, bus journey away. Just a warning that you are going to have to get charging when back at the car. Somewhere.

Easy Ayrshire EV Charging tariffs are going high in January 2025 and then higher again later in the year. Last night the charger cut out on me so now i know why the other cars sitting were not charging. I was not charged the £5 minimum so did not report to CPS as i have when several times this has happened in South Ayrshire. CPS Call handler says report to the Council, the Council have ignored my Emails. This morning the charger cut out after 6 minutes and 3 kWh charged. Today i read this. Welcome. They do not really creep but you touch the accelerator gently and they move. Touch the brake gently and they stop. Enable Autohold and if you press the brake pedal harder Autohold is holding the car with your foot off the brakes pedal, still in drive. Touch the accelerator to move.
