Any way of disabling this auto braking?
The Accelerator is pressed is it not if driving and not just 'Coasting' when the car decides to do an emergency stop. If it does it on an icy road then even ABS is not going to be making things any better.

Karoq 2023 juddering
The Brisdgestones as fitted OEM are just the same ECO bias tyres as any others Skoda / VW Group fit. Come the much colder roads or snow just poor. ? What was done at that service, just the OIl & Filter and a look see?

Service Question
@andypandy1961 What engine and gearbox has it and what service is coming up? Was the Service indicator reset to fixed servicing and 9,400 miles / 372 days, changed from variable 24 months / 18,000-20,000 miles, or is it a PHEV? (Fixed Oil & filter changes.) EDIT. I see now a 1.5 TSI. So is it a MHEV ?

Any way of disabling this auto braking?
Not progress or regulation really with a Mk3 model, not legislated to have Auto braking. just set over sensitive maybe. ? Can you set it to be less sensitive rather than totally disabled? They "do not all do that". & it is not "a characteristic." Reports of happening with Brand new 2024 Vehicles, Kodiaq Mk2,s. Skoda never got the brief on Vorsprung Durch Technic!

Karoq 2023 juddering
Sounds like loss of grip, so tyres. Surely a mechanic would be aware. Best not only to say what gearbox as in Manual or DSG, but what engine because there are different DSG,s. ? Is it a 1.5 TSI ACT. Try turning off the Traction Control and see if you just get wheel spin and no Nipping of the Brakes which can fell like 'Axle Tramp' did with cars with Axles. No Service Handbooks. Online Service Records. But a Skoda Approved Used Car should have a Service Record / Certificate. ? How many miles on the car and any servicing done so far? Fixed Regime. Cam Belt and DSG schedule NA.

Service Question
What age of car and is it an Interim Service between the Required Variable / Flexible Services? What are you doing more than changing the Oil & Filters. If the car is in the Manufacturers Warranty period then Serviced with the Correct Fluids & Consumables and a record of this and done by a VAT Registered person / Establishment. NO PLACE DO THEY SAY THAT... Garage / Mechanic, not Plumber / Electrician. To the Manufacturers Guidelines, Recommendations, Advised, Specification, Schedule. *If only they were clear about that and Service Desk staff knew,* Read the Warranty T&C,s. If only he could act less like a nutter.- DSG, P, brake and acceleration pedal
Press the BRAKE pedal. There are only 2 pedals and you are using one foot. A green foot / brake symbol shows. Press Brake and select what ever. Autohold enabled, Press brake and then what autohold function your foot can come off the brake. Touch the accelerator or brake to disengage. Then there is Stop / Start, are you using it.- Oil
The Spec has not changed to 0w 30 FS III for a 2016 TDI. The Spec is VW504 00 / 507 00, so 5w 30 FS III, **or if you want 0w 30 FS III. ** It was when the VW Group went to VW508 00 / 509 00 so 0w 20 FS IV that some TDI,s stayed at VW 504 00 / 507 00 & get 0w 30 FS III That was for the WLTP Certification.- the truth about electric cars
We are now where a new EV need not cost more than a new ICE car of the same interior size. Be that the RRP, or the 'Cost to buy' price. I think we know now that depending on the BEV size, battery size that they need charged every 2, 3, 4 5 or maybe 6 hours of driving, assuming going 50 miles in an hour or so, As to those that can charge at home or work and return trips with no public charging then same thing. What car / battery and how far you go, No brainer financially if you can charge and go each 100 miles for maybe £2.50 or less cheap tariff electric. Or the HMRC / Government / General Public are helping you be taxed less on a company / business use car. If it does not suit your lifestyle or temperament then surely it is as with any vehicle / transport, use something else that does suit. Unless you are a delivery driver, or employee landed with what you are given.- DSG, P, brake and acceleration pedal
Welcome. Be stopped when you select P. Foot on Brake Pedal. Then engage the e-Brake or the car does. Pressing the accelerator once in P. ie out of gear makes no difference. Handy if you say what the Octavia is, Petrol, Diesel or Hybrid. Makes no difference really to the DSG though. other than which DSG.- Jonny Smith Late Brake Show youtube vids, some are Interviews and many will be on other stuff transport related.

- Tyre check indicator
Not on all cars / models. But if it does on all Skoda Superb then good that you are here to tell people. A big difference in the Circumference / total diameter. % as you show...- Tyre check indicator
It really does not make a difference if one wheel / tyre is a little different size / circumference / total diameter / pressure because if you fit a spare wheel and reset the TPMS you should not get a warning. As it is the 4 tyres do not need to be at the same pressure, just the TPMS set and registering. ? Is the odd 1 tyre left on the car that much more worn than the 3 new? ? Is the car a AWD / Haldex. You can still have a spare on but some do not like it, CC or ACC can be disabled.- the truth about electric cars
HMRC hopefully. He is like Lorraine Kelly. Not playing herself, playing being the entertainer. So Lee Davey, Journalist / food - travel reviewer, Graphic Designer. Publisher - vlogger. There are expenses involved in that work self employed. Overheads a plenty including your vehicle. Tool of the trade. Worth a mention.- the truth about electric cars
He says it how he sees it. Which is odd sometimes like his 30% battery use. 25*oC setting in the car, toasty toasty, and heated seats and his swimming trunks maybe. No idea what he drives. He is just the Anti to MacMaster and his anti. MacMaster sets up to fail. But gets the Video made, gets it posted, earns the pittance and keeps on keeping on driving the Taycan. PS Or is the beardy man playing a character like the MacMaster is, for Entertainment reasons. There was a member from this forum says he knows Lee Davey and he is not really like in the videos. So less of a plonker, or more!- Winter roads, ice, snow and wet or dry driving in an EV..
- LED Front Fog lights
In Fog if that is what you need to see and not blind yourself. There are muppets that think side / position lights and fog lights is what to use in Fog and have posted such on this forum. Well circumstances, and location and needs must. The lighting can be tried to see when best you can see. Stylee and Fog Lights to match the Headlights or Sidelight colour is just for dafties IMO. Yellow Fog Lights /lenses can work well, or have done. The UK Highway code still has Sidelights on in 30 mph limits where there is street lighting as being OK. There are tw-its around with just Front DRLs, on in lighting up times in towns, and out in poor visibility. Often because they trust to Auto lights, or are just clueless. - England EV Charging points, a proposal. & location & news on new charging hubs in England & Wales.
