  1. Are the OEM Fog light / Bulbs not actually any use in Fog when Fog lights are required for being seen and maybe being able to see the side of roads? & Not causing you to be less able to see by lighting up the fog. (Outdated but the 21 watt max for the fog lights still applies does it not?)
  2. ^^^ Best to be clear where and why. There must be a market for selling 'Snake Oil', but somebody probably has that trade marked.
  3. @Floop I think you have won the lottery in having a Euro 5 emissions 1.8TSI from 2014 without issues, excessive oil use or any timing chain / tensioner issue.
  4. @fr1nklyn where are you adding anything, into your fuel tank?
  5. Owners of Mk2 Fabia vRS 1.4 TSI Twinchargers with 180 ps as standard have remapped to Stage 1 or 2 and 210 ps or more with standard DQ200 DSG,s, so 320 Nm or so and greater than the 250 Nm max as VW / Skoda gives. But the thing is. ? Has your DQ200 DSG had the Recall in Australia for the Software Update '34H5', Preventative for the Pressure / Heat issue and cracks / leaks / accumulator failure? Recalls has been done 3 times now, has your car needed it carried out, and is it done? The other issue is the DSG is 10 years old and you might get Clutch Pack failure or selector fork. There are Upgraded Clutches and Software Updates available in Australia, Harding Performance.
  6. An Owners manual will tell you are cars specification / capacities, online manuals.
  7. Welcome. What has it got now 180ps?. I would recommend leaving the 10 year old car alone and trading up. Your are looking at too much of an increase. Remap, upgraded spark plugs and coils, air filter higher octane petrol and 210 ps is enough is it not. What ever tyres you want for the roads you want not to be spinning tyres on if grand Prix starts are what you are after. ? Is the car a manual or a DSG,? Brakes and suspension upgrades.
  8. VW Group guidelines, recommendations, advice is to not use additives. VW Group and Dealerships sell Additives in containers with their Logo and Dealership offer Fuel Treatments / Additives. That is how they roll.
  9. The Driverless bus Service Stagecoach run the 14 mile route across the Forth Bridge from a Park & Ride in Fife to the Edinburgh Park Transport Hub is being ended in February. A lack of passengers. The 5 busses require up to 2 drivers at all times. They are proud etc etc having demonstrated...... Demonstrated that they can blow money very easily.
  10. @DarrenG How long is between Service Intervals, 40,000 mile / 4 years for plugs. How many years or miles did the original coils last? How many miles do the Hella last? Just interested and waiting till someone comes along and can answer your question.
  11. Someone will be along. ? How long do the Spark Plugs last?
  12. The 1.4 TSI engines that VW Group / Skoda went to 0w 20 FS IV with were in the PHEV,s, and oddly they are supposed to have Fixed Servicing. 12 months / 9,300 miles according to VW Group. Yet people are running these on only Petrol and not charging them, so Long Life oil might well be appropriate.
  13. The OP shows a 2014 1.4 TSI, So a Euro 5 petrol, and the VW508 00 / 508 00 oil has nothing to do with that engine, and should not be used. 'Higher Spec' is not what VW508 00 / 509 00 is. It is what VW Group started using with GPF,s and for the WLTP. It is not backward compatible with earlier engines. The 1.4 TSI with the Fixed Regime of 9,400 miles / 372 days car use VW 502 00, which is 5w 40 FS usually as used. Or for fixed it can be VW 504 00 / 507 00, Or also for Variable / Flexible, and that was usually, 5w 30 FS III. (Now some might use 0w 30 FS III.) Do not use VW508 00 / 509 so 0w 20 FS IV on the engines pre 2018 or so when VW Group started using for the WLTP Certification, and when they started fitting GPF,s to TSI,s / Petrol engines.
  14. Use the Long Life oil if you want. 5w 30 FS III, but in 2010 Skoda gave the car / engine the code OG2 for Fixed Oil & Filter changes. 12 months / 15,000 km. (VW were already using the code 0G1.) You can use VW 502 00, 5W 40 FS oil instead of the Long Life oil. I would on a 14 year old engine. It was the Spec of oil for annual oil and filter changes.
  15. Guest_ replied to Stonekeeper's topic in Skoda Enyaq
@Stonekeeper Is that 1 service now and the MOT next year? Not 2 annual services? Is it including the Brake Fluid change now and the Pollen Filter? The FREE Wash and Vacuum likely takes longer than the service. EDIT. I see now. So Brake Fluid £75 maybe. Pollen filter £45. MOT £55 quid with 15 pence back.. = £175. plus £130 labour plus VAT, £366.
  16. Sir Keir Starmer MP / PM is speaking right now in Norway and signing agreements. Maybe he will learn more about things, and that the UK is not Norway, and neither is the UK London or just England.
  17. He has done his sums. Maybe not watched 'Dave's Video though.. just
  18. Look at the Air Filter, see the condition. Apples and Pears as far as a DQ250 DSG and a DQ200 DSG. . Your Fabia had Twin Dry Clutches and 2 oils in the Box and MCU, and was subject to Service Campaigns, Oil changes for the MCU under these, or software updates. The Wet Clutch DSG,s are 1 oil in the box and MCU. The wear issue is very small if anything. If DMF or Clutches need replaced they need replaced.
  19. Tesla Charging (Tesla non Tesla) in Inverness and Aviemore & Perth just simply clever. There are a few cheap 50 kW DC chargers around Inverness but i am not going to say where. They are my 1st choice when there. We will see what he does at Falkirk. There is AC charging available at the Falkirk Wheel or at the Kelpies, and no issues as far as getting 50 kW charging, or paying more for Ultra Rapid charging. Falkirk Charging Hub near the Kelpies. Tariff now. 69 pence. £20 overstay after 60 minutes. & £20 an hour there after. Falkirk Wheel. 4 Ports up to 22 kW, so 11 kW if lucky. 40 pence a kWh. CPS, or ElectroVerse card / Apps.
  20. When were the spark plugs replaced, when was the Air Filter replaced?
  21. Sorry i edited the first post i made. I some how thought i was reading about a Fabia. IMO, Stick to the 40,000 mile servicing of the DQ250, oil and filter, it is not made of chocolate. Not to save money, just because this inteval is fine.
  22. DQ250 DSG fine at 40,000 mile intevals. (There is no DSG servicing for a DQ200 @ 40,000 miles. ) Any Skoda TSI or TDI engine recommendation is not about 'Severe Conditions', Being used like a TAXI. Just why a Fixed Oil & Filter change should be used, 9,400 miles / 372 days or less and not a Variable Service Regime. 24 months , 18,000-20,000 miles. You can use VW 504 00 / 507 00 for fixed or Variable Oil changes, or just do not use Long Life oil, use the VW502 00 for fixed oil change intervals. 5w 40 fs.
  23. Likely they genned up the 2nd MCU fitting on the correct refit procedure. It is different for a NEW MCU compared to a Refurbished one.
