Door warning and interior lights problem
The wire that is earthed when the microswitch responds to door opening is a thin brown/yellow one which goes into pin 2 of the brown 6-way connector at the A-pillar. Unplug that 6-way connector and use a test meter to see if that wire does or doesn't get connected to earth/chassis with the door open. Pin 5 of that same connector is one of the earth connections to the door, so you can measure between 2 and 5.

Brakes
Wow, what a rubbish way of saying "thanks Chimaera and Wino for setting me straight".

Brakes
Brake calipers/systems tend to be described in terms of the smallest wheel they can fit inside; which isn't necessarily a size of wheel that they are used with on a given model. If you look in the parts catalogue for wheels for Superb 2, you'll see that 16" is the smallest listed @Carlston, unless I'm being blind.

front passenger door wont open! help!
Some people have success by clouting the door near the lock repeatedly whilst trying to unlock it. If it is a bad connection somewhere, you might just get lucky and the thing happen to make the connection at just the right time with your mechanical 'input'. I've not had personal experience of this 'door won't open' situation though, so probably not the best person to advise on solutions.

Front Hub Carrier
You'll have 288mm discs, I would think, on a vRS, so you'll need bearing carriers with part numbers 6Q0 407 255S or 6Q0 407 256S, for left and right sides respectively.

Straight up the page from where it's drawn. In that bit with vertical ribs, and the shape of the filter shown at a slight angle.

Which is what happens. The flow originates engine side, then turns downwards through the fan, horizontally to the filter, FORWARDS through the filter, then horizontally across to the evaporator housing, and eventually out of the vents. I'll do you a more heavily annotated version tomorrow.

So the side facing the rear of the car is the side that the fan blows air into, just as my diagram shows?

Is your car LHD or RHD @KiNeL? Front of car in that diagram is in the top right corner, rear in bottom left.

Engine knock + rattle
I don't feel I can help you much from here. Looking on the dark side, it could be neither tensioner nor alternator, as you've removed a side load on the crank nose by taking the belt off.

No, I have not heard of VIKA, but that doesn't mean they are bad.

In the links I supplied ^^ The answer is yes, different cam part numbers. PD TDi ones have extra duties after all.

Front Hub Carrier
Nope, there seem to be three different versions depending on brakes fitted. (The 1Lx or 1Zx codes in the 'data model' column) View link on a computer if you can't see all the info on a phone: track control arm, complete; wheel bearing housing... - Fabia(FAB) [EUROPA 2011 year] (7zap.com)

You can probably take a set apart and service them, instead of replacing. Rebuilding Hydraulic Lifters - YouTube

Cabin (pollen) filter for RHD Yeti - it's backwards!
A bit over £20 for genuine here in UK, I think? Cheaper ones on ebay.co.uk. Where have you seen that price?
-
About hydraulic lifters
Well they don't have the same VAG part number, and neither number is superseded by the other, so I would say there is probably some difference. camshaft, valves - Fabia(FAB) [EUROPA 2002 year] (7zap.com) camshaft, valves - Fabia(FAB) [EUROPA 2002 year] (7zap.com)

I'd suggest buying genuine ones from a dealership, unless they are silly money. Then you should get the right part with the airflow arrow correct.
