  1. Can't have too much info on the web, so please do share. Some upgrades are thought to be 'too hard' by a lot of folk if they involve wiring changes, so your info ought to be especially valuable in making one of those more accessible to more people.
  2. Maybe some photos of top and bottom could help?
  3. Any chance you've re-installed it the wrong way up? How do things look at the top mount end?
  4. Doesn't look promising based on the different shapes shown between these two diagrams: https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/octavia/oct/2006-252/8/827-827010/ https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/octavia/oct/2006-419/8/827-827010/ The two diagrams for estate versions look less different, but still different: https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/octavia/oct/2006-252/8/827-827020/ https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/octavia/oct/2006-419/8/827-827020/
  5. Seems most probable to me that something that had to be removed/disconnected during the clutch repair has not been refitted 100% right. I'm far from expert on such matters, but assuming this car is turbocharged, could the problem be a boost leak?
  6. It may well be what you're already trying, but it seemed to be a new step for him, that worked: https://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?2059-SEAT-Leon-Mk2-Setting-the-Service-Reminder-Interval-back-to-Flexible-Schedule&p=19306&viewfull=1#post19306
  7. Gary M's post 2/3 of the way down page 3 seems to have broken the deadlock for him.
  8. The Rosstech page linked talks about (re)enabling the TOG sensor, I guess that's the oil level/temperature sensor in the sump. Have you done that?
  9. Hmm, that's looking like a poor opening guess. They're a weird looking thing, second item 24 part number here, it looks like: https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/octavia/oct/2007-419/1/103-103055/#24 Which look like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/One-New-Genuine-Engine-Valve-Cover-Bolt-022103831B-for-Audi-Volkswagen-VW/273338065724?epid=26021169329&hash=item3fa437e33c:g:5H8AAOSwKJ9bPPKs Probably a 10mm socket fitment then? But could be some odder size to go with the very odd appearance.
  10. Engine code? BMM engine, I see, now that I am off phone and can see sig and profile.
  11. I'll have a look. My opening guess from that description is M6 flanged Allen head bolt needing 5mm hex key.
  12. Went off like a piece of popcorn. 😃
  13. With all the tech on cars now it's easy to get confused between which ones are primarily 'emergency event assisters' and which are just there for increased convenience.
  14. I think I might complain to the ASA about that website not being a whole lot more up front about the whole "E-marked/ road legal - No" aspect of these bulbs.
  15. I think when you set it, what you're actually doing is putting the system into a temporary 'learning mode' where it measures the relative speeds of all four wheels at whatever pressures you've just pumped the tyres to. This takes some minutes of normal driving to do, and I suspect it will indeed save some data relating to this starting point, at the end of the learning period. What it can't detect, is equal (rotational speed) changes on all wheels caused by air loss, because those data could also simply be caused by the car going faster. Only 'odd-one-out' situations are likely to trigger a warning. Luckily, for those that check their pressures regularly (all responsible drivers), this is sufficient.
  16. Did you buy this car 6 weeks ago, or longer ago and it's been giving trouble for these last 6 weeks? It's not clear to me from what you've written.
  17. Poor assumption, unfortunately. Even if you had direct TPMS it would be somewhat reckless to never check tyre pressures 'manually'.
  18. No, as in oil residues. See here for an image or two and some words: https://svsautocare.com.au/vehicle-maintenance/black-death/
  19. ^ My use of the term 'black deathy' wasn't intended to just describe the colour of the oil. Sludginess with possible crunchy solid residues was more what I was meaning.
  20. It'll be written on the bottle or webpage relating to what you've bought if compliant. Kinda critical on the PD engines.
  21. Would have to be almost empty-sump low to start making that noise due to oil lack in sump at a standstill, but just thought it was worth asking as you hadn't mentioned it. How do things look through the oil filler hole, if anything at all can be seen that way? Black-deathy, or nice and light and cleanish, for the mileage?
