OD Filter
I'll take a guess at cabin/pollen filter. The O might stand for odour, not sure about the D.

Brake shoe kit
When I last visited the drums on the missus's Fabia, I ended up replacing only three out of four shoes. The fourth was probably only 25-50% worn, TBF. The genuine Skoda kit o'shoes I'd bought from ebay was flawed on the basis that two of the shoes were identical instead of being mirror-images. Unfortunately I started on the O/S of the car where the parts were correct, and hadn't performed the wise 'pre-check' to make sure everything was correct in the parts I was aiming to fit. So when I moved round to deal with the N/S only one of the new shoes could be fitted. May well have been two years ago. Could have been more. No issues reported or experienced when I've driven it. She's quite a reactive driver, so does a lot of what I'd consider unnecessarily harsh braking. May revisit it in the spring if I remember...

fabia steering angle sensor needed please ?
I misunderstood your previous post, thinking that it was referring to a communication problem between G250 sensor and PAS module. Now you've clarified it that it was between module and 'car' I'm less perplexed. Cheers. I still don't know for sure what comes out of the G250 sensor, cos although it appears to be able to infer the steering wheel position/angle, I'm not sure why it would need to. Possibly something lost/added in translation from the German. I've not seen reference to PAS 'strength' being related to what angle the steering wheel is at, only to how fast it's being turned and vehicle speed. The hydraulic mechanisms nearby automatically sort out the direction the fluid should be pumped to give assistance the right way. Also, in VCDS you can see 'angular velocity'/turn rate in a measuring block, but I'm reasonably sure I've never seen 'steering wheel angle'. So I think the output of the G250 sensor is probably a simple PWM signal of 'turn rate'.

Is my Superb a 1Z, 3T, 3U or 3V?
Mk2 Octavia, I thought! I think these two characters are to be found as the 7th and 8th in your VIN?

fabia steering angle sensor needed please ?
SSP doesn't add much to my understanding about what comes out of the sensor except that it claims to send angle as well as turn rate info, where I thought it was only the latter. It says this: The power steering sensor G250 is located at the top in the steering gear and surrounds the input shaft of the steering gear. It detects the steering wheel angle and computes the steering angle rate. It is not an absolute angle sensor (steering wheel angle proportional to steering wheel lock)! Later it shows a diagram of the capacitive sensor: I guess, looking at that it can tell angle by which of the 9 plates in the semi-circle on the left are covered by rotor, given an initial lock-to-lock calibration or something, Was any such calibration done by you after installation? TRW systems use the above capacitive sensing technology, Koyo systems use completely different hall effect technology. Was the pump brand new? (Where from?) Good to hear you're up and running anyway.

fabia steering angle sensor needed please ?
Wiring diagram doesn't help.

fabia steering angle sensor needed please ?
I'll try to research this a bit, cos I'm not 100% sure, but I wouldn't expect the signal that's coming from the turn rate sensor to be 'communication' as such. It might be though. I'll start with wiring diagrams to see how the connections are labelled, then the relevant SSP.

Can a Fabia be used without the alarm module?
Just bin the alarm, it'll be fine without. Or you could try removing its fuse (no. 20 in cabin, top row 4th from right) to see if that suffices.

Happy birthday to... us
I'll raise a glass to that. Thanks Colin, and team of volunteers, for helping to make this place rather special.

Retrofit heated screenwash jets?
To do it as per factory it's as described here, on previous page: Would possibly require enabling via a coding change of the BCM, but easily tested without that to see if it's just 'there, anyway'.

Good luck.

Biceps tendon rupture, anyone 'been there'?
From an insider, the medical stance is along the lines of "How vain are you? would you prefer a bulge or a scar? Cos you'll have one or the other. Function will probably be fine without surgery. Some risk of cramping if nothing is done". Seeing my sports massage guy tomorrow morning, should be interesting to get his take on it. @J.R. I watched one of Sam Webster's excellent anatomy vids on youtube yesterday that did mention a role for this tendon/muscle in keeping the shoulder joint 'in' but it was mentioned in passing rather than as the only thing that does that job. Learned of the existence of the brachialis muscle which is underneath the biceps and does some of the same things, which helps to explain the relatively minor loss of function/strength.

Retrofit heated screenwash jets?
I checked 2016, which is as recent as 7zap goes, and part number is the same, so I'd be confident.
