  1. I doubt that there’s very much advice anyone can give. You’re buying a nearly new car, that’ll come with a decent warranty. Apart from reading some of the relevant Mk4 topics on here, if you like it…. Gaz
  2. Might be time to have a diagnostic scan to see if there are any tell tale fault codes. Another thought - do you have a silica bag ‘Mit Silikat’ in your header tank, and if so, is it intact. When they fail, they can gum up the heater matrix. Gaz
  3. Diesel or Petrol? Might be timely to raise the post about my woes back in 2018 with my 2015 vRS TSI, which started with no cabin heating: Gaz
  4. Unlikely as it may be, should we ever meet, please remind me to lay on the floor and admire the paint job on yer sump 👍 It’s nice to see the love you’re giving this little Scooby 😎 Gaz
  5. No, not normal. Our Polo GTI (2015) has the DQ200 7 speed dry clutch, and doesn’t do this. Needs checking out IMO. Could be mechatronic issue, or accumulator pressure, although that wouldn’t explain why it only does it in sport. A friends 1.2 Fabia had this, in all driving modes, and it was the accumulator. Presuming yours is the DQ200, a google of DQ200 accumulator pressure should bring up some useful reading. Gaz
  6. My Dad did it once, shutting a rear door. Didn’t slam it, but it was a really hot day and the car was baking in direct sunlight. Didn’t half go off with a boom 💥 Gaz
  7. Hello Simon My first Skoda was a Superb V6TDI 😎 As a first port of call, have you checked for water ingress? In the plenum chamber and under the carpet in left side (UK passenger) footwell - wet in these areas can cause a host of odd electrical issues. Gaz
  8. Sadly not my day 😕, but I remain ever the optimist… somehow…. Someday…. Someone 😁 We’ve got a Tipo for sale in a garage I cycle by. Tbh I didn’t realise what it was, but I thought it looked a nice enough little car 👍 G
  9. That’s not my understanding. Can you elaborate please, as I thought they are allowed, in the right circumstances for them to be used correctly. Gaz
  10. It’s item 27 (and quite possibly 64) on their Approved Used inspection checks: Appalling service indeed. I’d certainly be updating the review to (factually) downgrade it if it were me. Gaz
  11. Gaz replied to davoxx's topic in Tyres & Wheels
What’s your current wheel and tyre sizes? Gaz
  12. Power steering unit or steering rack? There’s obviously more pressure on the power steering when turning at low speeds. Can you detect it when stationary with the bonnet up? Gaz
  13. Currently £3.30 Clubcard price for 2.5L at Tesco until the end of the month: Gaz
  14. Is the hose long enough to cut 1/2” off the end and re-seat it as a makeshift repair? If not, could you cut it and add a section of copper/metal pipe on jubilee clips so you can get a clean inner section of the hose reseated? Again as a makeshift repair? Is the hose straight (ish) and simple enough that a generic coolant hose of the same bore could be suitable? But before any of that, if the hose isn’t damaged, have you tried releasing the clip, getting the hose moving, and then putting the clip back on, but rotated from its current location? Might provide an easy fix. Gaz
  15. Stone the crows! 😁 You'd done well to escape it for so long. Think I've had it four times now - it gets easier (IME). Hope you're feeling better. Gaz
  16. I'm 🤏 close to pulling the trigger on a Nextbase 622GW front and rear, for all our cars. Currently at £299 for the full package. Was looking at Road Angel and the Viofo A229 too. Gaz
  17. Very broody sky about 40 minutes after sunset up Beachy Head tonight. Proper windy too: Gaz
  18. End of an era indeed. Healthy old mileage too 👍 It’s ten years since I replaced my 2005 Mk1 with an Octavia Mk3. Hope the new one does you proud. Gaz
  19. I realise it's not a photo, but I got buzzed 😎 (Needs sound): IMG_2972.mov Gaz
  20. I was outside the front of my house this afternoon, saying hello to my 18 month old neighbour and his Mum. He's very cute, and although he'd just eaten a banana, I let him play with my phone When I went back indoors to finish my cuppa tea, he'd somehow managed to activate my camera. And on the photo's he took, there were a couple of bright red things in the sky over our houses: Like I said, I was only outside being neighbourly 😇 No other reason Gaz
  21. Buy it, buy it!!! 😁 G
  22. Whopper of a Hoverfly on our Buddleja earlier: Gaz
