  1. A different issue I reckon. What you describe is the same behaviour I experienced from day one in my mk4 Octavia when using CarPlay; have never thought of it as an issue.
  2. That sounds like a combination of ACC and Collision Avoidance along with the regenerative braking. A lot of tech 'happening' all at once, and potentially not talking to each other (as it were). I'd suggest getting the car checked to ensure you have the latest updates to all of those control system modules.
  3. Yes, it can be fixed - my car was one of the first in UK to get the fix. As @Ate_a_Croissant mentions, it has to be done by a main dealer and it's a legal requirement to display both or switch between them. What is frustrating is that Škoda are not proactively fixing these early build cars.
  4. You may have gleaned from this forum that the earlier build Mk4s had more than a few software issues along with some hardware ones too. My 2020 car is a prime example - after initially feeling like a Beta Test vehicle all has been sorted - to the point where I can barely remember the frustrations of old. It's now about to tick over 55,000 miles and is a joy to drive (just back from a 300 mile run from North Wales). You ask for ideas - I suggest you get it to a local dealer or good VAG independent and get all of the modules and Infotainment System updates that are applicable to your particular car. Updates cover all sorts - from SOS module to parking sensors to ACC.
  5. A visit to the heart of Snowdonia yesterday…
  6. Be aware though that some faraday pouches don’t last. I bought two when I got my Mk4 with KESSY (March 2021); the pouch I use is now completely ineffective. I assume over the time it has developed a few cracks which permit the signal to pass through. Other pouch is fine. A replacement is on order…
  7. Looks like your tyre is a lower profile than mine (205/55-16) so presumably you have a larger wheel diameter.
  8. IIRC, in the bottom of the wheel well there is a plate into which a threaded post (supplied with the kit) is clipped, and a nut of sorts which hold the wheel in place. The foam tool holder sits on top of that.
  9. Just been out to take a photo of mine (excuse the assorted stuff I lug about with me!)
  10. There isn’t one, only a foam insert to hold the tools which sits inside the wheel itself (that’s with a full size 16” wheel I mention earlier in this thread).
  11. Either that or an old bed sheet folded to the appropriate size. Helps keep the boot floor clean and is free.
  12. Interesting… That option doesn’t apply to my car - must be an iV thing 😉 Anyway, good that it’s now working.
  13. I’m wondering if some of the data associated with the app is corrupted which hasn’t been cleared by reinstalling it. On both iPhone and Android there is a way to delete apps and their data, but buried in the settings. The quick easy way to delete an app doesn’t always clear all data.
  14. Welcome to your new motor. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am mine. Lots of tech stuff to get used to, spend hour or so with a coffee sat in the car working through the menus with phone & search-engine or the manual by your side (just in case). It will be time well spent. The internet connection in the car is primarily for the Škoda Connect services (Remote Access & Infotainment Online); the use of those services is subscription based after the first year. For Spotify etc. you'll need to use your phone and CarPlay or AndroidAuto; so either stream the music with your mobile data or cache the it on your device/app. There is an option to by a SIM Only package from Cubic which adds mobile data to the onboard eSIM - the car can then become a WiFi hotspot for all the phone & tablets you and passengers take in there. It is not necessary as most folk have an excess of data as part of their mobile package anyway.
  15. Mine sometimes takes a while to come online, as per this info screen. Try resetting or uninstalling and reinstalling the app if it persists.
  16. 😉 I'm sure 6C would be a shock in most of Australia this time of year 😉 That aside, earlier this evening I had a fiddle... 6C outside set passenger side to 22C set driver side to 16C Clima on Auto my feet got cold; Mrs Steve's feet nice and toasty. In my car, the Clima system seems to behave as expected, so maybe @jimtheslim's car has an issue
  17. Yes, it has the Smart Clima, but you can select 'Classic' for those non-Smart controls. Similar to what others have said, I set mine to 21 or 22 all year; rarely anything different - it's best 'Set it and Forget it' clima I've come across in a car.
  18. I would go for the Mk4, a much nicer car and, in general, more fuel efficient too (though I guess if you're looking at the RS version, then drivability and handling will be your priority). Having good relationships with your local Škoda service area offers reassurance should any infotainment issues arise; the latest versions fixed them, and the seller ought to have them installed already. Rear space if OK, I am taller than you (6 feet 4 inches) and regularly drive long distances with 4 adults in the car. Mine is the estate version - lots of space in the boot 👍
  19. I pay up for the subscriptions to Care Connect (driving data, alarm notifications, parking position, etc) and Infotainment Online (online voice control, map & traffic updates, etc). Whether they are considered value for money or not is an individual thing; for me, they are.
  20. When I set mine up (nearly four years ago) I had to get my Škoda ID account verified by a dealer before I could do anything like see the vehicle location etc. even though I was the Main User in the car. By "verified" I mean that the Dealer had to confirm to the Škoda system that I was the legal owner of the car, and thus had the rights to see all the car details and information through the app. I assume (but don't know) it is still the same.
  21. Also, you'll need a subscription to Škoda Connect services - https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/skoda-connect (or the equivalent for your nation)
  22. I searched for 3397014871 instead. Good ol’ Amazon eh?! 😉
  23. https://amzn.eu/d/8GeSdJB - any good?
  24. Yep, a pre-FL car in what looks like Petrol Blue, same as mine. Enjoy…
  25. Not tried them (yet); I need another replacement set soon so it’d be good to get a set specifically for the car. If you get some please let us know how you get on.
