  1. I swapped mine last year but the ones on the Bosch configuration were shorter on the drivers side. Found a better Bosch set thanks to this thread
  2. In the UK it’s usual that to become the main user a main dealer has to verify ownership and they then update the Škoda servers in some way. All to do with the privacy laws as the main user can track the vehicle. I guess a similar process would apply in your country too.
  3. It was Meadens in Brockenhurst, Hampshire. They have a branch in Christchurch too.
  4. From my searching early last year the main dealer had as good, or better, price than anywhere else - much to my surprise.
  5. Good the hear the MPH/KPH issue is resolved, though again wise to ask for a video to demonstrate it. As for the clock and trip data, at least it is (should) be available on the main Infotainment Screen; there are several ways to configure the displays, and multiple screens can be set up to swipe between. When the VC was replaced in mine (over three years ago now!) I seem to recall the dealer saying the car configuration had to be updated at the Škoda servers end of things before the software could be fully updated. I may be that Richmond didn't do that hence you're not getting the clock. Perhaps worth asking the question. When I saw the VC in newer cars with additional functionality I felt a bit miffed, thinking I want that too - but then it dawned on me it's just like any technology based system. I just installed iOS 18 on my iPhone but some of the new features don't work 'cos my phone is 2 years old 🙄 - but life goes on... Hope you get the car back OK and grow to love it as much as I do mine.
  6. Frustrating, but wise to insist they get it sorted be getting the car back. I have been using Meadens in Brockenhurst - they've been excellent, and incredibly supportive in the early days when Škoda UK and 'the factory' were involved. I'll attach a photo of my System Info in case it's of some help No worries. I was travelling anyway, many hours on the road in the last couple of days.
  7. Have you tried looking at the data through the Škoda App? There are two versions My Skoda and My Skoda Essentials - both show the car data but in different forms. One by date/time period (e.g. day, week, month) the other (Essentials) similar to the car (Since Start, Since Refuelling, Long Term). In theory, the latter should show the same as the car. Having said that, I speak as the owner of a petrol model not an IV but I would expect similar views of the data.
  8. Welcome to the forums; and pleased to hear you're enjoying your Octavia - I really like mine for comfort, space and efficiency. It usual that the Long Term data is reset automatically after 99 hours or 9999km (or whatever the mile equivalent is); to my knowledge there is no way to change that.
  9. @Ate_a_Croissant welcome to the forums. You may have read my experience in the KPH/MPH thread; my 2020 70 plate SE L FE had these issues early on. After months of diagnosis the VC was replaced and some s/ware updates applied - these gave me the clock in the top centre of the VC and fixed the kph/mph and satnav km/miles issues. I could not and still cannot change the digital speed display between the dials (other than switching to kph when needed). I’m aware later builds have the capability. Your car should be ‘fixable’. Could you post a photo of the System Information screen. I’ll compare with mine. Also, I note you’re in Hampshire. Which dealer do you use?
  10. I think they have. From what I have seen the infotainment system in the FL Octavia is the same (as in it looks the same) as the new mk4 Superb. Would make sense if it is as there would be fewer variants to manage updates for.
  11. So good you’ve got your car back and sorted. A real shame that the Škoda brand is [further] tarnished by shoddy workmanship & attitudes of [some of] their dealers. Hopefully the OTA updates won’t screw it up again and you confidence & enjoyment in the car returns.
  12. Could use your smartphone to video the restarts - I have proven its usefulness in demonstrating issues to the dealer.
  13. If you're buying through your local(ish) Škoda dealer then all the software updates should be applied, plus a bunch of other stuff... Being armed with the info as to what updates to expect is important. The post from @spcdust in the thread about red flags is a good resource.
  14. Sounds very much like we have been on the same road! Same model of car except mine was registered Sept 2020 (bought it as ex-management car March '21), potentially an even earlier build. At Škoda UK request my dealer had the car to use so they could diagnose faults, and then was a guinea pig for a fix(es). Thankfully Škoda UK funded a dealer provided loan car, another Octavia Estate, a 1.0 e-Tec SE FE which was faultless, for 5 1/2 months and 8500 miles! That, plus a few more updates on the way to Infotainment v1941 has given me a great car... I feel for @TheWanderer. Sounds very much like the accident repair and/or the dealer have screwed up your RS. Your frustration must be nearly off the scale...
  15. A very nice Alpha Spider 1.6
  16. Yep, what @spcdust said; spot on advice.
  17. Could it be that the on/off touch button has fingerprints or other muck on it? Or maybe the touchscreen. Perhaps try cleaning them.
  18. Welcome to the forums; hope you enjoy your Octy as much as I do mine! As @RADIOTWO mentioned, it is normal for the wipers to not wipe when the car is stationary if the switch is in the first, 'Auto' position. Bit disconcerting at first but soon get used to it. At times I find myself switching to the next position when at traffic light or similar, then back to Auto.
  19. As @Edela mentioned, I suggest you get the S/W up to at least 1941 before buying. Mine is a 2020 SEL FE Estate, works perfectly fine now (with 1941). I'm very happy with the car, comfortable, roomy, economic.
  20. There has been a couple threads on here about spare wheel kits. Some good stuff here… https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/526502-mk3-vs-mk4-spare-wheel-well-shapesize/#comment-5884929
  21. Today I tried using voice control for Recirculation. Works fine turning it on and off. Works for AirCare too. But yes, once you know where buttons are it's quicker to use them.
  22. Mine is a 2020 1.5 TSI and. I get similar menus to those in the video above; yours is a 2024 FL (based on profile info) so I guess its more to do with that.
  23. Have you tried voice control for that? I use VC quite a bit for the clima/AC but rarely use recirculation.
  24. Sorry for late reply. Yes, the 'Car/open door' is a touch button. Should toggle between being illuminated orange (lights don't come on when opening a door) and not illuminated (lights do come on when opening the door). By the sound of it, could be that yours is faulty.
