  1. Google maps and Waze can both work fine over CarPlay; I think you may need to customise which apps are displayed - useful as it can reduce clutter. It's over two years since I set up mine so can't remember the exact step, but this link might help... https://www.lifewire.com/customize-carplay-4159194
  2. During the autumn I get it fairly frequently caused by dew over the sensor. Where I am I often get moisture settle on the windscreen etc over the first few hundred meters early in the day because the car is parked in deep shade and cold in the morning so drive into warmer moist air.
  3. Mine is the same, SE L FE registered Sept '20. Honk & Flash is fine but not the Lock/Unlock. The buttons don't appear in the app; a 'feature' of the early builds.
  4. The two USB-C ports in the centre console are charging and data; the two in the back are charging only.
  5. It should have the latest updates applied - but prior to collecting it you could ask the dealer to ensure it is fully updated.
  6. I’ve done it through the Škoda Connect services; awaiting a dealer response is a good call! There are a few other Octavia owners from Australia on this forum, hopefully they’ll see this thread and be able offer further comment/assistance. In the meantime, enjoy your new car…
  7. Not that one. Login to Škoda Connect (not sure if the url for your region) in there you’ll see the same stuff as through the phone App, and a link to a shop. You can also access it through the My Škoda app.
  8. As I understand it, if you log in to the web site to order the additional lighting, and use the same account in the car, the lights should be activated/synchronised by the Škoda systems. Pre-requisites are that your user in the car and the internet login are the same account, and the car itself is linked (via VIN).
  9. Welcome to your new rs. I use the voice control a lot for climate control; things let “set temperature to 20 degrees “, “my feet are cold”, or “the passenger is too hot”; also can use things like “my seat is cold”. Radio and media playback works well too. I still haven’t got the navigation voice control worked out so I usually get my passenger to set it or do so before driving off. The additional ambient lighting can be bought through the online shop; easier using a web browser on a PC or phone.
  10. I'd always considered the sound system OK, and plenty good enough for me; perhaps one of the best I've had in any car I've owned (putting it down to the assumption that these things improve over time). Reading some of the comments here I started thinking, even though I'm happy with it, so I watched the review shared in an earlier post - which is pretty positive : "...I really do like .... and it gets our overall value award". Yep, I'm happy with it as is.
  11. A see where you’re coming from but I’d rather have sound upgrade as an option - so I don’t have to pay for it. Whilst I like a quality audio system at home there is too much other noise in a car that gets in the way. Perhaps you could share your best settings.
  12. Yep. Been round that loop a couple of years ago...
  13. Mine has the latest s/ware so I think there is a hardware generational thing too. Mine won't even lock/unlock through the app, not can I send a route to it from the app. The joy of a First Edition model - do get electric/memory seat though.
  14. @xhala take at look at the information earlier in this thread (around page 12) which has the TPI attached/embedded (ans I can't remember what TPI stands for either🙄). When you contact the dealer, make sure you mention things wrong with your car that appear on the TPI as problems fixed. Often dealers in UK are reluctant to do work if there isn't evidence of the problem, so a video of the reboots for example is also beneficial (though can be tedious to capture). As mentioned by @SkOmk4, the car will likely need to updates to get to 1941, mine did and it took the dealer three days in total. If its under warranty still, you should be able to get a free loan car.
  15. That is now available on recent Octavia models in the UK. My 2020 build can’t do it but it was there on a 2023 loan car I had for a couple of days. Personally I found that display too busy, but nice to have the option.
  16. After turning off the ignition flick the wiper stalk and they move to the service position. It also shows up on the infotainment screen when turning off the ignition and before opening the door.
  17. In the UK, they are used to warn that the central white line is changing from dashed to solid (continuous) - you’re not to cross a solid white line (eg no overtaking).
  18. I reckon in this scenario the Lane Assist could be reading the arrow as the lane narrowing so the centre line moves right. Something you’d want if indeed the lane did actually narrow down. Knowing it is likely to happen means it can be anticipated and adjusted for.
  19. An update to 1941 should sort some of those things but the SOS problem may require a replacement unit, mine did. Hopefully the dealer will get it sorted for you though it may take a few visits. Push for a no-cost loan car as they might need it for a few days.
  20. There is a discussion here…
  21. This might help… https://www.wheel-size.com/size/skoda/octavia/2023/
  22. Mine only functions above 30mph, so rarely in most urban areas. Can’t remember exactly when it kicks in, but pretty sure it is well below 40mph. At a guess it would be 50kph, so ~31mph.
  23. I got one of these, price has gone up though... https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07RBPRM2W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  24. Yeah, frustrating - big time! I'm pretty sure somewhere in the thread I linked above I mentioned the structure I use, and that works fine. If you can't find it let me know and I'll have a look on my USB stick and see how it's set up (I can't remember 🙄).
