  1. Totally agree. I was one of the early purchasers and experienced many a frustration as @Greezy56 may recall. And yes, very pleased with my car now - a great blend of space, comfort and economy.
  2. Ah! OK, I got that wrong then 🙄. Thanks for posting the correction.
  3. Take a look at the Nextbase ones, my 522GW works fine with the USB-C power from the port by the mirror. They have options for rear cameras too, but they’d obviously need to be powered independently.
  4. Is the eTec you’re getting the 1.0 or 1.5? I had a loan 1.0 eTec for five months. Was absolutely fine for two of us even with a reasonable load in the boot. Having said that I think four up and the boot rammed with holiday paraphernalia it might feel a bit underwhelming on long motorway hauls or big hills. The DSG ‘box worked well too. Noise levels similar to my 1.5 manual so no worries there. I use CarPlay but I know that my 2020 car supports wireless Android Auto (sons phone) - think wireless was an added feature on one of the many s/ware updates.
  5. I wonder if this a software issue. I note from other threads (matrix lights) that your car is going in to the dealer next Wednesday. Probably worth pressing them to look at updates for all components in the car. The SEL FEs had a shed load of issues early on, all fixed in mine now, so hopefully they can sort yours.
  6. It will need some new side panels in the boot space as well as the floor itself. Also worth noting that whilst the floor would raise the floor to the level of the tailgate opening the seat backs don’t fold flat like in my old Mk2 This thread has some more discussion…
  7. That's right. I ended up sending two lots back to Amazon 'cos they were either too short or the fitting too wide. In the end, I got Bosch AP26U and AP19U for the front. A bit more money than buying a set but they fit well and are the same length as the original blades fitted to my car. The thread I quoted earlier has more background.
  8. Sadly I couldn’t get consistent results doing that, hence a bit of trial and error - see thread I linked above.
  9. Apart from stability, the only other thing I noticed about v.1941 is that it seems a little more responsive with apps loading a little quicker. Hardly earth shattering…
  10. Tinkering with the native monochrome modes on my new(-ish) Nikon Zf - taken in Cam Idwal, Snowdonia
  11. Yeah, a different cable is worth trying; both my iPhone & Mrs Steve's work fine wireless or wired.
  12. I’ve never seen an option to display the altitude; would be nice though, especially when transiting an alpine pass.
  13. Welcome aboard! Hoping you enjoy your new (to you) motor. if you haven’t already, it’d be worth asking the dealer to ensure all s/ware updates available for it are applied.
  14. It does not. Been to France and back in the last couple of days - had to manually set the time zone and units for speed and distance.
  15. I’m just about comfy enough in my SEL FE Estate; at a tad over 6’4” I also find the usual problem for me is that the seat is too close too the steering wheel which results in stretching for the wheel or poor leg support at the front of the seat - or both. As I say, I’ve found a reasonably good compromise in mine, good enough for a 400+ mile journey today; and as good or better than my 14 plate Superb mk2 before it. Most other cars I have tried are worse, especially non-European brands.
  16. I’ve always treated the ‘Except for access’ as being only to get to properties in that zone - residents, deliveries.
  17. The file I've used was actually a .m4v filetype with MPEG-4 H.264 CODEC - screenshot format red QuickTime Player 'file info' pane... Hope that help.
  18. I’ll check the video format I used and report back.
  19. I have done it by putting the mp4 file on a usb stick, use the media player to browse to it and play. Video is only shown when the vehicle is stationary - but the audio plays continuously. Massively distracting!
  20. Thanks, but that’s where looked… Not the only thing ‘missing’ on the early builds, they don’t have lock/unlock through the app (not sure I’d use that feature anyway).
  21. I think that might only be on VRS or recent models - no menu setting for it on my 2020 build SEL First Edition ☹️
  22. For the mirror to dip the dial needs to be in the L position for UK right hand drive cars (not the R position).
  23. Given you have two eyes and a brain, why do you need Google Maps audible warnings of speed cameras? Sorry, cheeky question, not a serious one! (And no doubt a controversial topic, perhaps for the roadside hotel…) But personally I find camera warning infuriating, especially in urban areas where directions can be lost amongst the camera warnings.
  24. Ah yes, I stand corrected, thanks. I did all that at the same time at the dealers three years ago - my aging memory merged two 🙄
