It does not. Been to France and back in the last couple of days - had to manually set the time zone and units for speed and distance.

I’m just about comfy enough in my SEL FE Estate; at a tad over 6’4” I also find the usual problem for me is that the seat is too close too the steering wheel which results in stretching for the wheel or poor leg support at the front of the seat - or both. As I say, I’ve found a reasonably good compromise in mine, good enough for a 400+ mile journey today; and as good or better than my 14 plate Superb mk2 before it. Most other cars I have tried are worse, especially non-European brands.

I’ve always treated the ‘Except for access’ as being only to get to properties in that zone - residents, deliveries.

The file I've used was actually a .m4v filetype with MPEG-4 H.264 CODEC - screenshot format red QuickTime Player 'file info' pane... Hope that help.

I’ll check the video format I used and report back.

I have done it by putting the mp4 file on a usb stick, use the media player to browse to it and play. Video is only shown when the vehicle is stationary - but the audio plays continuously. Massively distracting!

Thanks, but that’s where looked… Not the only thing ‘missing’ on the early builds, they don’t have lock/unlock through the app (not sure I’d use that feature anyway).

I think that might only be on VRS or recent models - no menu setting for it on my 2020 build SEL First Edition ☹️

For the mirror to dip the dial needs to be in the L position for UK right hand drive cars (not the R position).

Given you have two eyes and a brain, why do you need Google Maps audible warnings of speed cameras? Sorry, cheeky question, not a serious one! (And no doubt a controversial topic, perhaps for the roadside hotel…) But personally I find camera warning infuriating, especially in urban areas where directions can be lost amongst the camera warnings.

Ah yes, I stand corrected, thanks. I did all that at the same time at the dealers three years ago - my aging memory merged two 🙄

Here in the UK we need the dealer to verify ownership before being able to set up as primary user (tracking and privacy issues I think) - presumably similar in other countries.

I’ve had no issues with the app forgetting my SEL FE over the last three years. For info. I’m running the app on iOS, currently v17.3.1

I had the variable floor in my mk2 Octavia in which the rear seat bench folded forward and then the backrests on top making a fully flat load area. Unfortunately the mk4 seat does not tip forward so a flat floor is not achievable.

I got the spare wheel kit for mine. Full size with a decent tyre on it. Comprises a replacement foam insert for under the boot floor, jack, tools etc. Well worth it for peace of mind, especially for long journeys in continental Europe. On the other hand, I wouldn’t bother with the variable boot floor. In the raised position the boot is too shallow for my purposes and I never use the void under it. In the lower position it’s a pain to get the storage below it and a waste to carry the extra Kg around for no reason. If you ain’t got one, don’t get one.

There are drain holes in the gutter at the bottom of the windscreen, check that they're not blocked (we get loads of birch tree seeds round our way, total nightmare!).

Frustrating indeed! Especially as I can swap from one iPhone to another (mine and my wife's - CarPlay to CarPlay) - one is CarPlay connected the other with 'simple' bluetooth for hands free calls. In mine, CarPlay reconnects the last one used in that mode - sadly not remembering which iPhone is associated with which [car] User even though the key association brings up the correct User and seat position.

That must be very frustrating for you, but as you say, hopefully the dealer can update & fix it for you.

Two thoughts here... It sounds like the car is offline (no Internet) and it is trying to synchronise your user settings with the Škoda servers - but can't, hence the error messages. I can't think of a way past this one other than taking it to your main dealer and get the technicians to sort it. A corruption in the profile of the system User that is associated when you unlock the car. To test it, perhaps create another user which should prompt you to set the privacy settings.

A reset should only take the settings back to factory default, shouldn’t undo any s/ware updates, worth a try but could be tedious depending on how much you’ve changed (favourites (radio, satnav), lock/unlock, etc. In the thread I linked previously there is the TPI for the update to v1941. It lists the faults fixed so worth you having a look and go to your dealer with knowledge of the issues. From memory the TPI is somewhere near page 12 but may be a few either side of that.

I’ve done it through the dealer; AIUI some of the latest build cars are able to get these big update OTA, older ones not. Some on these forums have done it themselves (see the infotainment continuously rebooting thread). It’s a thing done at own risk as there is a small possibility it could fail. Personally not something I would try myself but I do have a good rapport with my dealer and they are (have been for the last three years or so) very good.

I’d start by doing a force reboot of the infotainment system (ignition on, then hold a finger on the infotainment on/off button until it starts a reboot). The updates info has never displayed under ‘show all updates’ - a useless menu item in my view! Somewhere there is a System Information screen. That should tell you the latest version of the major components (but not the many sub components and apps). It should 1941.

Yep, that’s what I use the voice control for. Only problem I have with it is for navigation. Invariably it can’t find my destination - or I can’t find the right syntax to use. End up resorting to asking Mrs Steve to type it in or use my phone, CarPlay & Siri (but I prefer the built in nav system to any of the phone apps - yes, you read it right 😂).

Good to hear they’ve finally updated yours to 1941. I had no problems during five weeks in France with 1941 installed in mine. Hopefully yours will be fine too. Have a good time…
