Plate holders
You shouldn't need to drill the tailgate as there are usually already blind rivnuts in place to hold the plate

Superb iV TCS / ABS / Engine dying
That sounds more like a duff battery or loose battery connection to me!

Bah! Engine management light on!
At a guess you've got a knackered glow plug that isn't heating at all... Based on the assumption that the ECU monitors current draw and hence can tell if it's open circuit and not heating (hence static)?? If you can get at them you can measure the resistance across them between the contact and the engine block to check.

Leaking washer reservoir
Yes it can be accessed from the wheelarch as I did that on ours years ago. In our case though it wasn't the bottle that was leaking but the diverter valve on the pump that directs water to the front or rear screen depending on which way the pump spins.

Prefl questions.
Thinking about it I think the boot floor was at a higher level in the 4x4 than normal FWD cars though as it didn't have the variable level and underfloor storage arrangements.

Prefl questions.
Our 4x4 still had a full size wheel well...

Some idiot threw a pound coin into aircon vents under windscreen
I'm trying to remember if pound coins are magnetic... As some coins are .. if so I'm wondering if you could remove the vent and fish it out with a magnet on a piece of string or similar...

Kodiak towbar without prep
That seems crazy but then I guess they might be quids in refitting one if a new buyer wants one.
-
Kodiak towbar without prep
That certainly seems to be the case these days. Our old Octavia 4x4 bought at a few months old was different though and had quite a few options as well as a towbar.

Kodiak towbar without prep
I get what you are saying but when we were looking second hand there was very little to choose from in that was suitable, regardless, and even less with a towbar fitted (I recall maybe 2 or 3 vehicles on auto trader full stop) so for us going aftermarket was the only choice.

DieselMonte's 2012 Monte Carlo Project.
Pah... That's no excuse! If it's not raining the roof should be down... And only takes about 30 seconds to put back up even if it does start to rain... And if it's light rain just keep driving and you stay dry!

DieselMonte's 2012 Monte Carlo Project.
What was wrong with the roofs of the MX5s... Broken?... There were at least two sunny photos there where they had the roofs up!

Alarm temporarily disable - Ferry mode
You should also be able to disable it from the touchscreen in the car too under opening and closing settings. But beware that only works for the next locking cycle, as soon as it's unlocked it reset and you'd need to untick the box in settings again.

Time to say adios to our gas uzzling Subaru
Think I paid about £750 for a detachable swan neck with 13 pin dedicated electrics on ours.

VOTE NOW - the UK decides - rubber mats or carpet in your Skoda? Take part in this important poll...
You just need to be careful with the rubber ones when taking delivery... when we got our Kodiaq second hand the dealership had 'valeted' the car but whatever they had used on the mats had made them slippery as hell - they were lethal when trying to get in and out the car as your shoes just couldn't grip them - it took a number of washes with fairy liquid / shampoo / snow foam to get them sorted.

Can I vote both... I've got rubber in the Kodiaq and carpet in the MX5 and Swift...

Irritating vibration noise
Sorry... Spellcheck stepped in... That should have read 'OBD port' below the steering wheel on the underside of the dash near the door.
