Yeti owner's previous 'cars with character'
We had a Morris Marina too (predecessor to the Ital) - now that WAS crap! That was in addition to a succession of Ford Cortina's - one of which regularly needed the spark plugs drying out on the kitchen hob after it failed to start due to the variable venturi carburettor flooding the engine...

the truth about electric cars
You mean the EU are trying to be protectionist?

the truth about electric cars
The battery passport things sounds like a 'jobs for the boys' project that no-one will really care about other than some legislator that came up with the idea... And the data within it sounds like it'll be very spurious anyway.

Yeti owner's previous 'cars with character'
We had an Allegro and its predecessors the Austin 1100 and 1300s - they rusted faster than we could repair them but they never let us down and were great in the snow / bad weather. I know they had a bad reputation but our experience was somewhat different.

Skoda Felicia Headlight Adjustment
Not in my experience of Osram Night breaker +150s

Skoda Felicia Headlight Adjustment
Yes - I regularly check to see if they are certified for my Kodiaq (they are now in certain countries) and am aware the list of approvals is getting longer all the time - all of which suggests to me they will be a good replacement for halogens in many reflectors, even if not currently certified.

Koni Street rebuild.
Touche re the diversity of comments. And no I have no personal issues or problems at all but clearly I touched a nerve and, by your response and your argumentative and aggressive tone in many of your posts, you do. There will be similar issues to those I mentioned in OE classic (Felicia / Favorit etc.) car parts so my points are still valid (I note you've chosen to go on a personal attack rather than address the points I made - shame)

Skoda Felicia Headlight Adjustment
If the light concentration and pattern isn't good then that probably points towards poor quality LED bulbs. Good one from the likes of Osram and Philips that is street legal (Osram Nightbreaker LED / Philips Ultinon) should give a virtually identical pattern and cut-off to that from a good halogen.

Skoda Felicia Headlight Adjustment
I believe that just relates to HID or above 2000lm. A Halogen-based projector won't exceed that so won't need self levelling and washers.

ISO9001 is a quality management system standard - it relates to how you manage your quality management - as opposed to how you manage the quality of what you produce.

You are kidding aren't you...??? If you believe that you need certifying as slightly mad... Sure some will be much better than 'ebay specials' but there are many, many OE parts that are 'engineered' down to a price and nowhere near as good as aftermarket parts from other manufacturers. Skoda brake discs and pads come to mind as one immediately well known item... made of lower quality materials and poorly finished. Turbo hoses are another well known OE failure item where aftermarket items are far better. There will be many other examples too - not everything but enough to categorically disprove your comment.

Can I ask what the apparent obsession is with OE parts? The OE process is a balance of cost Vs performance and often the cost side wins meaning OE is not always the best and better non-OE parts are available that perform better, last longer etc. In addition certain OE parts for older cars are no longer available so there's no choice but to go aftermarket non OE.

Windscreen wipers.
Just get Bosch Aerotwins they work great and are far better than OE ones

Brighter and Better Headlight Bulbs?
I switched to osram night breaker +150 on our Kodiaq and they are an improvement but the biggest improvement was getting the lights aligned properly as they were set too low to start with. I guess the alternative might be Thier +200 bulb or even trying one of the better LED drop ins that can be used in Europe but unfortunately still aren't street legal here in the UK.

Blimey... 5 pages and this argument is still going on. At the end of the day it is one person's car and he has chosen to fit aftermarket parts from a quality supplier to improve the characteristics of his car. There may be geometry changes as a result but suspension is about far more than just geometry. The change is his choice and his choice ONLY to make... Some people want to keep their vehicles stock and OE and others don't. So why argue so vehemently?

Any idea what this represents?
I'd completely forgotten about that but now I've seen it's position on the full screen I recall it - you're spot on!

Any idea what this represents?
Daft question but does your car have a driver alertness system or area view system. Could it be associated with that? Ie an internal eye tracking camera failure?

Any idea what this represents?
It's the eye in the sky... I'm sure Alan Parsons wrote a song about it... 🤣

Any idea what this represents?
At a guess it might mean the camera is obstructed by frost?

Headlight glare.
I know what you mean I just wonder whether things are starting to get better as I've seen a few reviews now of the ewer compact H7 Led drop-ins that seem to suggest the beam pattern is very close to Halogens. There is also the Osram Nightbreaker LED that is street legal in most EU countries as a retrofit for a lot of vehicles.

Skoda kodiaq sportline door
As above I'm pretty certain the Kodiaq door is much longer and a different profile

Aftermarket Easyguard alarm system installation
Having looked at that alarm I have a few queries... The first is why? If you have an Octavia III then it will already have an immobiliser and may even have alarm depending on spec. I certainly haven't installed an aftermarket alarm system on a car since the mid 90s as the inbuilt ones tend to be decent and anything aftermarket tends to bugger the car up and cause faults. The second is to note that that particular kit seems to be for older cars which don't have a Canbus system. So it's unlikely to work without an additional interface between it and the car.

Headlight glare.
This is true but you need to be careful when checking that any lighting up of signs is direct lighting and not just the latest retro reflective sign faces doing Thier job as recent changes to specifications has increased the performance of the latter. I know my Kodiaq headlights are aligned as I've checked them, as has a garage but the new sign materials still reflect back very brightly
