280 Tyres
In a word yes. They remain very quiet stable and grippy and after just over 10k miles don't seem to be showing too much wear. For reference I've also got Falken Zeix 310 Ecorun on the Swift and they have also proven good, and to me, are a much better tyre that the Bridgestone Ecopia that were fitted from new. I used to be a Vredestein or Michelin Cross Climate person but am very happy with the Falkens and would have them again, albeit with research first and the fact that I may go all season on the Kodiaq next time due to where we live.

If it was from a reputable company go back to them and ask for the correct file... Simples

TMC traffic events no longer being received...firmware update required?
Just thought I'd post something slightly interesting and potentially connected... I've had no TMC for what seems like a few months in the Swift but last week the messages suddenly reappeared and I did nothing to the head unit. I'm not complaining as they are working and showing in the sat nav but just made me wonder if it was connected in some way to the issues here.

Headlight removal
Just check the other side and compare. I have. Feeling there is a slight gap on ours between bumper and fog light on both sides as I thought it strange at first but other I've looked at are the same. As you say perhaps it's the bimler that has moved or come off one of its fixings rather than the light (we had that on our Fabia ages ago but you could see Shere the bimler had moved on its fixings. Lossening a few screws etc. and pushing it back into place soon sorted it.

the truth about electric cars
Yeah - I'm not a fan of that spiral entry lane though - it's a bit tight in a Kodiaq but OK in the Swift. I get the Apcoa which is somewhat rough and ready for £6.50 a day.

Yep that's it. I'm coming from the South West so not much better. I don't head straight in but go round the outer ring to the south east and then in form the direction of the station to the Apcoa car park.

You have my sympathy!!! I'm a born and bred Sheffielder and work in the city centre but still struggle to get to some locations given the mess the LA have made of the roads... Hope you didn't get fined (I assume the M-car is compliant?).

And a totally unnecessary jibe at me as usual... For your info drainage is different to sewage treatment. Ive done drainage, not sewage treatment and discharge.

the truth about electric cars
It's been reported a number of times in the local press but through my work I've also seen local monitoring and AQ modelling data. To keep up the 'about me' I'm a Chartered Civil Engineer with a general engineering Masters from Cambridge University. I have over 33 years experience of the design and construction of projects ranging from flood defences, water supply and drainage schemes to concrete and steel structures but mostly in highway design and construction, transport planning and environmental impact assessments.

the truth about electric cars
That is slmost what my swift hybrid seems to do... Lift off and you get a bit of engine and low level regen braking, touch the brake pedal and the lights come on with a higher level of regen braking, press harder and the mechanical braking kicks in too.

the truth about electric cars
Just as a quick aside to these discussions, the worst areas in Sheffield for pollution are Arundel Gate and Sheaf Street - the former as it is a main bus thoroughfare (cars only allowed in one direction due to bus gates) and the latter due to proximity to the rail station and train lines. I believe the same applies to Oxford Street in London that is bus only. The M1 speed reduction for air quality mentioned in earlier posts was a trial to see whether it had an impact - the results are still awaited but data I have seen suggests the impact has been minimal. As for the Sheffield CAZ it is quite clear from its geography and the business case that it was taken forward in preference to other options because of the money it would bring in through charges for the Local Authority - the business case shows huge dis-benefits associated with the scheme in multiple assessment criteria.

So surely you should be welcoming Graham's interrogation of the data and news items? There are clearly many false statements being made on both sides of the fence... so a balanced discussion is needed, as opposed to a one sided evangelical 'do as I say' approach. Perhaps you should try to convince Graham rather than belittling him for his point of view and for not sharing your personal opinion on the matter??

My mx5 is 28 years old now and Euro 2... I have no doubt it'll still be around in 2030 albeit probably not doing many miles...- Cannot refuel!!
Ok im confused now. If it was a third full and you then put 43 litres in it should nowbe full... You said your gauge was showing one big division below half full after filling. If so its way out.- Cannot refuel!!
Should be about 65litres so filling with 43 should have taken it to two thirds full... So that gauge is reading wrong- Rear propshaft coupling
Mine went on our Octavia 4x4 at about double that mileage but started as a distinct droning noise under load in high gears. Does yours exhibit that sort of noise? If not how have they determined it is failing as I've seen a number of people suggests that it can look in a bad way with the rubber showing some cracking but not actually be failing... Just showing wear.- Cannot refuel!!
For reference the Octavia 4x4 we had definitely had a saddle tank with a 'hump' in the middle and a transfer pump to even out the level across it. However i understand it was a sngle tank that was connected at the top so when it was filling up fuel would naturally flow into the far side. Not sure if the Superb is the same but if it is that upper link would mean the level in the filler would drop as fuel was used... So im still betting on a blocked anti Syphon arrangement- DieselMontes BarnFind Subaru Justy
I'd be surprised if it didn't... I used it on pretty much everything black on both cars and that would have included the roof bars on my FILs tourer. I think i have a tiny bit left still so if i get the chance I'll try it on a hidden part of the bars on the kodiaq- DieselMontes BarnFind Subaru Justy
On the bumpers try some GTechniq C4. I used it on the black trim on two Civics (my old Mk8 and my FILs Mk9) and it brought them up a treat from that sort of condition and lasted a few years. It's expensive but if the trim is cleaned with isopropyl alcohol before the C4 is applied it seems to work and last really well. Plus it's a nice matt natural finish rather than false shiny black like some stuff is.- Tyre Pressures
I'll stick my hand up to that - yes I do - I generally run the Eco (2.7 bar I think) pressures on a daily basis but up them to the loaded ones (3.0 at the rear from memory) when we're doing long fully loaded runs (eg holiday run to Belfast and back or a run to and from Lancaster to Uni with my daughter - both fully laden). There is a noticeable difference when laden as the back of the car is more stable, presumably due to less tyre squish)- Tyre suggestions
Thanks for posting that test... I have the Falken 310s on my Swift and reckon they are pretty good... Which that test backs up. - the truth about electric cars
