The MG 4 and 5 EV and Maxus vans - Game changing cars & vans from SAIC
Honda tried that with the Civic Mk 8 many years ago... and even reckoned they'd shaped the rear end so that rain etc. would get blown off by the aerodynamics whilst driving (as MG claim to have done with the 4). They soon learnt and the Mk 9 replacement had a rear wiper...

Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
Wow - the hybrid element of the Arkana is hardly worth having at 20Nm - even the one on the swift kicks out 50Nm and only adds 10Kg to the kerb weight (it is a tiny battery though).

I know you keep referring to Dinosaur Juice but you do know that oils doesn't derive from dinosaurs don't you? Oil is actually derived from plants and animals, such as algae and zooplankton, not dinosaurs... As for mpg claims - the difference to actuals is more to do with the types of journey rather than how they are driven and the terrain. You can drive like a nutter but if your journey is less than the EV range you'll get fantastic mpg from a hybrid. However, if you drive like a saint on a long journey that exceeds the EV range that mpg will drop like a stone and be well below the WLTP claimed.

Sounds like a bit of a mare overall though... and a reminder that Vauxhall's maybe still aren't as god as they should be post-Stellantis take-over?

Diesel Monte's 2001 Skoda Fabia "Project vRSDI"
Re that notch you've cut in the console I'd seriously suggest you smooth it out and radius the corners, otherwise you've created the ideal conditions for a fracture starting and propogating through it, potentially with a fast fracture failure (I'm dredging my memory re materials and failure modes here from years ago but...)

Lining glove box
I've done this on various cars and cubby holes etc. Mk1 Fabia, Mk2 Octavia, Kodiaq, Civic, Mx5. My favourite go to is speaker felt and double sided tape... Works a treat at stopping things rattling around in there. If needed you can make card or paper templates to get the correct shape first.

I prefer a real tint
Pretty much... Yes... They have to allow 75% of the light through by law which is pretty much the level of the OE tint, meaning no more can be added.

Red oil light intermittingly flashing
Can I suggest you check / replace the oil filter. I had similar on a 1.9tdi Fabia with the oil pressure light coming on intermittently on the motorway and it turned out to be a faulty / old filter that had either been missed during the servicing and was starting to collapse.

Removing body sealer from the Firewall.
Given what you've said I'd be drilling the hole in the sdi firewall...

The Kia EV6 GT - supercar performance - well done Kia/Hyundai
I think you'll find the EV6 low sales numbers are down to a lack of supply as last time I looked they had a huge waiting list.

Hi
As above you may need to adjust your driving style... These small capacity turbo engines seem to be more economical if you give them their head and let them rev a bit rather than using low end torque like you would a diesel (says the man having gone from two 1.9 or 2.0 pd TDi estates to a 1.4 tsi kodiaq...)

Yeti rear Diff - which one?
MandT are a decent bunch... They are only about 10 minutes walk from me and I've used them quite a lot over the last 10 years or so for tyre changes, MOTs and servicing. They may not look like much from the outside but know their stuff and charge reasonable prices.

Tweenster's 2019 Suzuki Swift Sport
Good stuff. Spotted the wheels but it also looked like it had lost a load of lacquer off the paint and side skirts...

Tweenster's 2019 Suzuki Swift Sport
What's happened there? Has it been in the wars?

iPhone 11 won't charge or connect to Apple CarPlay via USB A port on 2019 Kodiaq
Is the one that did work still connecting? I only ask as I know we've had an issue with our USB socket and it needs replacing.

Diesel or Petrol
You do have a point there... 🤣

Diesel or Petrol
We have the 1.4tsi 150 petrol 4x4 and I worried similarly but have been impressed... Its coped very well with 4 up and the boot loaded up to the gunnels travelling from Sheffield to Belfast over the Pennines and likewise up to Lancaster. OK it's no rocket ship and I'm sure the tdi would pull better but it does us and is very quiet and smooth. As for mpg we get about 40mpg on a long run like the above but a bit less if hoofing it or really loaded up heavy but only about 30 on short runs round town.

New Karoq owner
Strange as Carista has the option to enable them on a Kodiaq (or at least did for our 2018 one)
-
Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
I do like that blue...

UK Stickers for France
Indeed - I have a friend who has lived and worked in France for many years and is married to a French lady but still got caught out by this - his car was written off and it was deemed his fault when a 'local' exited a T-Junction from the right in a Priorite a Droite area. He had no sightline to the junction so was unaware of the local approaching the junction and, when the other vehicle emerged it was far too late for him to stop, or avoid them...
