Replacing Yeti
Funnily enough I had a petrol T-cross dsg as a courtesy car this week. I didn't rate it at all. Quite 'tinny' with a hard plastic interior that creaked over every bump until it had warmed up and a jerky DSG box that made smooth starts and general driving virtually impossible. Its certainly not somewhere I'd be putting my money given the other options out there.

Mud Flap Dilemma
We have them on our 2018 Kodiaq and have had no issues with them catching on ferries between the uk an Northern Ireland, including those with steep ramps to the top deck. I can take some pictures or measurements if you want and im pretty certain they are a very straightforward fit.

Laptop upgrade from Windows 8.1 and thoughts on Chrome OS Flex...
Afternoon all, Just after some advice please – we’ve ‘inherited’ a 17” HP Pavilion Core i5 2.6Ghz laptop that runs Windows 8.1 and, apart from driving us mad with it’s user interface it’s also just gone out of support and is deadly clunky. So – any suggestions to breathe new life into it at absolute minimal cost… According to the website below I should be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free using the 8.1 product key. How to upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 - Pureinfotech Is this correct… ??? Any other thoughts?? Also whilst I’m on has anyone any experience of Chrome OS flex for breathing life back into a couple of old Asus Eee PC’s? Cheers

MK1 vRS - Stage 2 R-Tech Tuned
Looks like you bought a whole new mechanism? I just bought the plastic runner that had broken. A bit more faff but cheaper.

Replacing Yeti
Daft question byt have you looked at the new suzuki scross?

MK1 vRS - Stage 2 R-Tech Tuned
Yep that's how they all let go eventually... Our fabia did the same just before a long motorway trip so it was 'fixed' by a piece of timber for a few months. The eBay replacements were fine though.

Rear parking sensor intermittent fault after parked for 3 months
Had this on the MILs Jazz. A quick rub and a few taps with a finger and it was working again so i can only assume it had got a bit 'stuck' over time. Got to be worth a try??

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Not as a 4x4 though - they are all DSG... so that rules those out as well as we need the 4x4 element. Ah well - I guess they call it 'progress'...

Best Diagnostic tool?
I have a T55 and have used it pretty extensively on older Skodas and other cars. It's a bit clunky and worked well with our 2001 Mk1 Fabia and 2007 Mk2 Octavia but doesn't want to work with the 2018 Kodiaq we now have... presumably because systems have moved on. I spoke to Gendan about this as the T55 comes with a USB update cable and I'd hoped to get it to work but they said they had no updates for it. I did find one from the manufacturer some time ago though but haven't yet bothered to try it as recently I've used Carista or similar for the Kodiaq.

Really???... That rules another Kodiaq out for me in the future then as we need manuals (SWMBO simply couldn't get on with the DSG when we were looking a couple of years ago). Shame as the rest of the car suits us well.

Used Car Prices
Aha - good choice that man!!! Of the few on Autotrader that was the one that stood out for me as the pick of the bunch -hope you like it!

Used Car Prices
Tell you what... Those quattroporte are cheaper than I thought. Just looked on auto trader and there's a nice low mileage one in Dundee in that dark metallic blue... Makes you think... But then it probably wouldn't be as good as the Kodiaq at lugging wheelchairs and crap around...

Used Car Prices
Great looking car... Just hope it's reliable...

Doppelgänger
Where was each firestick purchased? Could they be regional, a bit like dvds, and both be 'uk' versions hence the block regardless of account?

Centre console USB dropping connection
Just checking to see if anyone has had issues with the USB socket in the centre console? Has been fine recently but today it decided it wouldn't connect to my wife's phone via Android Auto. Charging is on and off as well and having now tried multiple cables and different phones it seems to be the socket. I've had a go at tightening it up but has anyone had to replace one? Presumably the body section of the workshop manual will include instructions for doing so... Cheers

Help me with Enabling passenger mirror dip on selecting reverse
You could do it the easy way via the Carista app...

Help me with Enabling passenger mirror dip on selecting reverse
Likewise on our Kodiaq... It helps and isn't a hardship to correct every now and then

NIP received from average speed camera
That's a result then... Sounds like they forgot to change the cameras to reflect the changes in restrictions
-
NIP received from average speed camera
Challenge the NIP then and ask for furthe evidence and clarification.
-
NIP received from average speed camera
Often the cameras are located just outside the speed restricted area not within so that could explain the pictures. In addition the restrictions usually extend some way past the lane closures and well into the normal lane arrangements so are you sure that is not the case? However each picture should have the camera reference on it which should show which camera was used for the calc. And you should be able to ask for a cross check of those against the Not in use ones

Subaru rival (Haldex and general skoda modding advice)
Yep dpf off and mapped to 185bhp. No other changes.
-
Subaru rival (Haldex and general skoda modding advice)
Torque limit is 500nm if I recall correctly. Fuel economy was pretty much unchanged on my dpf off stage 1 2.0pd but then that depends on how much you use the extra. No issues with reliability other than it bursting the flexible turbo to intercooler bend every 7 years I didn't bother with any other mods

AnnoyingPentium's 2006 Fabia 1.2 12v Ambiente-ish
oops - looks like new spring / exhaust needed and a bit of adjustment on the handbrake cable to take up some slack? Not ideal but could've been much worse!
