Seeing is believing...
Looks great but would be even better without the aero covers on the wheels

diagnostics help needed Cornwall
Have you driven it? After a flat battery those lights usually reset and go out once the car is driven for a short distance.

Fuel cap compartment drain plug
It just runs to an outlet to ground in the wheel arch so the best bet is to poke some strimmer wire down it

Personalised Plates... Cool, or Sad?
I always think they look a bit sad if they are just like a normal plate trying to spell something or repeating the vehicle type... but then that's juts me so if you want to - go for it. (this from a man who quite likes his Northern Irish plate... in Sheffield)

Skoda Fabia MK4 Estate cancelled ?
we had a 1.9Tdi Comfort from new and did about 130k miles in it before we sold it. The subsequent owner then put another 50k miles or so on it before finally started to give up the ghost.

Skoda Fabia MK4 Estate cancelled ?
That's a shame... We had a mk1 estate and it was great. Really good packaging and loads of space for a small car.

What car to replace Superb?
Was going to suggest something like a Vitara but the towing limit is 1200kg... What about a Sportage or Tucson? They would fit the bill in terms of capacity and I had a Sportage as a hire car not long back - absolutely full of toys and very comfortable and well built but shorter than the Superb. As an aside we went from a 4x4 Octavia II to a Kodiaq and my wife has no issues with the Kodiaq but did think the Superb too big...

Hifi of Yesteryear vs Today's effort!
Yeah - currently scouring Ebay for options but it may be that a new one goes on the Christmas List... Good point and reminder on the DVD player though! I do have one in the lounge already but it would need a looooonnnng cable as it's on the other side of the room but also have a Tesco's basic DVD player in the kid's room that I could temporarily re-purpose until something crops up!

Hifi of Yesteryear vs Today's effort!
Well I had another CD player die last night... It's the Teac CD-P1260 and is only 5 years old so not too happy really. Not sure if it's related but the CD jumped and then continued playing so my daughter took the CD out to clean it and that was it - it refuses to read the CD with a 'No Disc' error... Annoyed as with the current electronics shortage as the cheapest replacement I can find is a Tibo (never heard of them) at £180...

Thinking of buying either a VRS Kodiaq or the L&K
Hmmm... Having seen the issues with panoramic roofs on other models that would be a big no-no on the VRS for me...

Thinking of buying either a VRS Kodiaq or the L&K
Wish I could afford either... ended up with a 1.4TSi SE 4x4...

Diesel Monte's 2001 Skoda Fabia "Project vRSDI"
HID's in our Octavia with projector lights were perfect so LED's might work. The Kodiaq is reflectors though so not really worth the risk.

Yep they are very yellow... I had some in a Mitsubishi years ago for a trip to France when they were needeed and left them in when I got home... I did find them better in bad weather though! Interestingly I was out in the kodiaq again tonight and noticed how much worse the lights were than the OE LEDs in the Swift so have decided I will invest nin some new bulbs... Either the night breakers you have or the twenty20 equivalents. I'd like to try some of the twenty20 LEDs but am wary of the legality (or lack of) and the fit given the Kodiaq uses a specific bulb holder arrangement...

No hot or cold air blowing from vents at all
If you have the climatronic try resetting the flaps... I think it's ignition on then press and hold the Econ button and the bottom left (or possibly right) button of the direction buttons between the two rotary controls

Seat belt chime
Or just unplug the connection for the buckle under the seat. Two minute job and no issues afterwards

Windows 11
Thanks... And yes I hate 8 on the laptop we inherited earlier this year even if it does help having a second PC around.

Windows 11
I've no intention of updating but just to confirm @robt100... The pc you built us last year... You'd suggest not updating to W11 and to stick with 10?

DieselMonte's 2012 Monte Carlo Project. (175hp 6 speed swapped)
Thanks for the pictures... Those night breakers look good... Definitely whiter and they seem to be a lot brighter than the fogs for example... So I'm convinced!!! Thanks! Also those wheels look spot on... You've done a great job with them looking back at how they started.

DieselMonte's 2012 Monte Carlo Project. (175hp 6 speed swapped)
Only if you have time... Might be interesting to compare to the michiba photo.

DieselMonte's 2012 Monte Carlo Project. (175hp 6 speed swapped)
Any pictures of the difference? Am thinking of these for the Kodiaq given we've got the Halogens rather than the LED's

Rear interior lights
Check the switch on the front roof console that operates the rear passenger lights - chances are it's been pressed accidentally.

European Road Trip Car Advice
Hmmm... we never had a gearbox issue but the rubber driveshaft couplings did start to fail...
