That's It!!!!!!

Fuel only has to be £1.33 per litre to make a £6 gallon!!!!!

So, at the rate its going, by the end of june its £7 a gallon, and by end October will hit the magic £10 a gallon.

Food etc is already spiralling up in the shops, so how much more will we take before we all snap and revolt?

You might want to check the prices of fuel across Europe and reconsider that comment

Just checked Andorra, which is where I am referring to, and Diesel is only .83 euro a litre, .20 euro cheaper than petrol. At current exchange rate, 66p a litre.Thats about half what we pay here.:)

Cigarettes are £1.20 a pack of 20, and Jim Beam is £4 a litre, same for Smirnoff 1l.

(Makes me wish i still smoked and drank!)

In fact, they havent raised their prices much since my last few quick smuggling, sorry:O, sightseeing drives there 4 years ago.:D

Why is diesel so much cheaper across europe than petrol, but here its the other way round??? Is it because diesel car sales are rising rapidly here and the government are acting on it quickly?

How much would it cost to get there to fill up?

well i may have to give up my job and my car :(

nigh on £60 to fill her up now, and I often do 1,000 miles a week.... so I need to work for ten hours (of lessons, longer in "hours" in the real world as I live in a spread out area, so about 2 days worth of work) JUST to pay my fuel bill....

we've put up our prices by 10% compaired to last year (all the market will stand) but fuel prices have gone up by 30% (diesel) called recession:(

loosing money hand over foot.....

gonna change jobs and buy an old felly ! :)

I fill up when the light/beep comes on because it annoys me - most I've ever put in is about £47, but that is over a tenner more a tank than a year ago and still rising.

Just imagine how all the "petrol heads" are feeling? Us "Satan's fuel" users get not too bad milage to a tank, compared to petrol.

ITs a farce the price we pay, but what option do we have? I need to use my car to get to work, work to fuel the car, then fuel the car to get to work!! lol never ending i suppose..........

A lot of the garages in East Anglia are charging £1.30.9 now, so 1.20 isnt that bad.

£1.30.9 thats a blooming rip off! Where are the fuel protestors of 2000 now. Time to get back out and protest me thinks. Cos its getting a joke the price of fuel. What are they trying to do? Run us all off the road.

They can not protest now as it would be an act of terrorism, and life in jail

They can not convoy at 10mph down a motorway, as that is also covered by a jail sentence

The Guberment could reduce fuel duty but it would be pointless, as it would be instantly increased by the cost of crude per barrell the way it is rising at the moment

It is forecast that diesel will be at £1.66 pl after October

I do not know how hauliers are managing and obviously everything we consume is transported by lorry so prices must rise

Several years ago, when this was happening, the Guberment had a word with opec and they increased production, and kept the crude price the same so prices did not rise

I have personally got to the state that I am going to work to earn enough for the fuel to get me to work

I need the car to commute which is 40mins each way, the alternative is public transport

Walk, bus, train, bus, walk a total of three hours eachway so not an option

The alternate is to quit, and claim benefits, along with many thousands of others

I can not car share, with ease as I am out in the sticks, we would have to arrange a meeting place half way to work, and where we could park up safely for FREE. then all be on the same work pattern

It is not all bad, I will have to quit work, go on benefits, and have a few more kids with someone then we can claim Child Tax credits

So I live a life of gardening, have a shag and get an extra £60pw, with the SOUP Kitchen providing sustinance

I am not going to blame Gogs Brown, as it would be the same with anyone it is down to the price of Crude

National

:thumbup:I couldn't agree more.Given the finances to do it, I'd get out of this chav-ridden, over-taxed, assylum seeker filled, drug abusing excuse for a country NOW:).

A nice little cottage in the Pyrenees near Andorra would suffice, so I can fill my car up all for much less than half of the cost this hellhole charges. If I drank or smoked I'd be saving £100+ per month alone just on those 2 vices alone!! Then factor in cheaper food etc.

Plus the food, people and weather would all be better.Jeez, I'm gonna start saving - if I can afford to:rolleyes:

Be careful - other countries all have their problems too - and if you leave the UK for negative reasons you will most likely end up noticing all of the negative stuff about your destination. I've seen it a lot on immigration forums and people end up being unhappy and going back!!

Sorry to be all serious like!!

Anyway fuel is going up every week here in NZ as well!!

I'm looking forward to coming back to the UK on my hols!! Should be an education!

Point them in the direction of the robbing Labour goverment that everyone voted in but are now moaning about.

How could you all forget the

Labour = Taxes

equation.

As a nation 12 years of Labour goverment we are now paying 150 billion pounds more in tax(All taxes).

Good old new Labour...............

Drove 8 miles on Sunday to fill up SWMBO's furby at 1.22.9 (diesel) - squeezed every last drop I could into the tank! :D Local station was 1.25.9! On the way to work this morning, noticed 1 petrol station selling diesel at 1.33.9!

It's not your fault - why give you abuse?

Idiots.

i really dont kno! they have to take it out on someone, apparently we dont make much of it anyway its just its alot how its bought in, you find funny trends in people though alot of rich people that have the money are still extremely tight, even more so than a normal/average waged person. I have to try and bite my lip but often i just tell them that its not my problem and keep pointing out its cheaper to have a petrol like i have! that winds them up :D

The last time the Tories followed the Socialists into power they inherited a massive debt, because of all the misguided public spending.

Is any of this sounding familiar?

Thank you Tony, and thank you Gordon.

(4 year old thread anyone?);)

Even for me in the, less than frugal i'll admit, 1.4 MPi it is getting tough. A tank costs me about 45 quid (about 36-37 litres) and being a student i just can't afford it. I have to buy food, student stuff (pencils, paper and beer) and petrol, it just can't be done. Think it's time for something big folks....
