Mine was £401 this year fully comp with guaranteed ncb (9yrs) for me and swmbo. My insurance co did ask for 550 originally!!

Stock Fabia Estate 1.9tdi, £190 with a £150 excess and guaranteed NCB.

Holy Sheeet dan!!!

Just had a aquote on a Fab Vrs- £800 with no ncb 23 in ol2 postcade with upto 250bhp worth of perfomance mods thanking you

mines standard octavia vRS TFSi but im 21 and had my license just over 18 months. i got a quote the other day for a renewal and fudged the figures to what they'd be come renewal in october and it was around £1500, so its gunna come down significantly, that'll be the cheapest car insurance i've ever had

£492pa (higher cause of monthly installments, else it would have been £450) on an Octavia 2.0 TDi. 0 years no claims, but have been on wifes insurance with Zurich and prior to that More Than for a few years so they took that into concideration as I didn't claim on her insurance.

Thats with 14kpa business use, legal cover, courtasy car, homestart / recovery and personal injury cover. SWMBO is covered for business / pleasure too on it.

I think mine is just over £1000, thats the most I've ever paid for insurance but then I had an accident in my last car and lost three years of NCD I'd built up.

£320 no mods fully comp with business use when I bought her 3 years ago it was 600.

to compare with the quote at the time for the fiesta I had of £450 meaning it cost me £150 to jump 11 insurance groups

"Full exhaust system?" Is there a discount if you only have part of an exhaust system?

full exhaust system or turbo back as opposed to a cat back or part system

just over £400 with all mods declared, SWMBO/Full No Claims/No points/over 30 living in Wakefield

Both of ours are in the 300-500 bracket..... The silver car is insured as standard by the mrs for £320-odd..... The black modded car is insured by me for £380-odd.

Both are Fabia vRS's, both have the other person as a named driver and both are fully comp. protected no claims.

Cheers

Dave.

Duggie - How do you young 'uns not only afford to spend so much on car insurance but justify it too?

Oilburninnut - how old are you?

eidt: no offence meant by the questioning btw! ;)

Try getting insurance these days without an NCB, it's a joke :(

Feel for you mate, I had the same and it's a right kick in the teeth when they bump it through the roof. In my case driver failed to stop and police suspected uninsured. I'm just praying I can get another 3 years in without any need for a claim.:(

and no one will let you protect your no claims either! unless youve got 3-4 years

My first policy was £980 from direct line on an Astra 1.4 which I managed to write off (fault claim) back in 2005. Just before I turned 24 and just a month before I would have got 1 full year.

A year later at the end of Mar 2006 i got my Felicia

Admiral £972

Then Kwik Fit from 2007

£700 (and within a month had to claim non-fault)

This year £640

All fully comp, legal cover, with me and my dad on the drivers list with no vol excess.

Most companies won't let you protect until you get to 3 years, some even say 5.

was paying 3400 for modded octy 1 vrs then changed to standard octy 2 vrstdi, they wanted £700 for this. swiftcover offered me £250ish but looked at reviews which weren't good. spoke to flux who found me a good deal with reputable company for £400.

£400 that was not 3400!!!

and no one will let you protect your no claims either! unless youve got 3-4 years

I'm with A-plan now and they let you protect your NCD from year one, but at quite an increase to the premium.

I was dumb enough to wait until I'd finished Uni and bought my own car to get my own insurance. If I'd have had my own insurance on my Mums car when I was 17 I think I would have had a nice protected NCD under my belt by now and probably be paying £400 instead of £1000 :thumbdwn:

This going to p*** some of you off, £161:rofl:, inc legal cover and protected NCD and 3 points. Downside, it's with Saga:shhh:

£280 fully comp , mods declared on a 03 octy vrs 32 years old, protected 8 years NCB , and down as a proffesional driver! morethan

Self and swmbo, Protected NCD 13yrs, Legal, Courtesy car, All Mods declared Vocational license

£279.80

£288 Fully comp, max NCB, protected NCB, Legal cover, courtesy car, full european cover included as part of policy (no green card required), 20K PA mileage, business use.
