There is nothing wrong with my £200 MFD2 now that a very good member has sent me a Nexus map.

It will do nicely until I save up for the Columbus, and hopefully after trying 2 of them that did not work I will get a working example.

Funny that though??? I have read that the classic is not set up for them, and the car need to be set up for them to work???/

a question i do have is the fact i dont own an Ipod, so dont want to have the icon on screen. Can the icons be removed?

Loadsa people who have bought one of these Chinese cheapo Witson type units has flogged it on due to incompatible wiring or lousy interface & spent a bit more to get a stolen Columbus off ebay.

That’s not the same unit as 'Andehh' has bought.....

I have the 'timeless long 7501' {which is the same one that Andehh has just bought off ebay} and its 'ok' for the money....

The sound quality is very good, freeview tv channels, the sat nav running the latest igo8 is just superb....

the only issues i have with it are, the radio reception could be better and it the usb/sd card interfaces are not the easiest to operate, very fiddly to select and change folders but could be possibly down to the fact i have large fingers ! there are better units on the market but they are quite expensive £800+

So overall, quite happy with it considering what i paid for it

Pleased to hear it, I paid more for the 7" screen and Windows CE 6, looking at the youtube videos it looks usable enough for me.

he is a UK seller, with a warranty with him and very good feedback. Spoke to him on the phone a couple of times and he seems knowledgeable enough. I cant wait for it to arrive.

Couple of questions though, what is the bluetooth phone quality like? How big SD cards can it take? and finally can any of the icons be removed/hidden...I dont own an ipod and dont want it rubbed in!

bluetooth connection works fine, you may have to turn the sound up slighty though when a call comes through..

not sure about the size on the sd cards, but they have to be fast running cards or they wont play

as far as i know you cannot remove the icons, but why would you want to do this, as you cant see the icons when wotever you are playing/watching....

i have played music videos off the sd card, with no problems {not sure what format}

not sure about mic....

yes it mutes when the sat nav is talking

you will find a lot more info on the vw/audi forums about the units, if you search for 'timeless long 7501' or '7501' you will find a lot of info

also its a doddle to fit......

im using 4gb sdhc mem card, the sd cards dont work for some reason, the music tracks seem to get stuck , dont know why...

you can also play audio files off your mobile phone via bluetooth, which will stream to your car speakers
