£20 for the pair including o-rings, blanking plug and coolant temperature sensor.... happy days:D

the pipe on the far right in the pic needs to be blanked off becuause of the mk3 gti bottom end this goes to the water pump, and on the mk4 bottom end the water pump is internal so it's not needed

i've chopped down the coolant transfer pipe

A: not needed, going to be blocked off

B: bottom of expansion tank

C: heater return

  • Author

yeah i was the dipstick that broke it :o

well that didn't work, so i've been to see the fellas at serck cooling and they are making me a custom radiator, it should be ready for tomorrow:)

Hope you don't get a stone through that one, would be most annoying :(

Going to be good to see this finally going :)

how much will this project of cost you all in all when completed?

That really wont matter when you sail past those GTI boys at the traffic light grand prix.:rofl:

:ne_nau:

don't know really, not much, tbh it just gives me something to do in my spare time, but if you wanted a garage to do it it would cost a fortune for thier skills and time what with all the custom stuff that i've made etc.. i'm only doing it because somebody on here said it couldn't be done

Last time someone said that he and the Transaam got chased all over America by Sheriff Buford T Justice

Classic film though. :D

new radiator in place, now the alternator magically fits again:) but i have to extend the wiring for the fan switch because it's on the other end of the rad now

you may also notice in this pic that i have removed the oil cooler

Making good progress there Tom, almost on the road then :D

big thanks to the guys at havant motor factors for helping me find some radiator hoses that are the right shape for this..

100_0380.jpg

the bottom hose is off a 2003 honda civic, and the top hose is from something else :o, also i've blocked off the oulets i'm not using with rubber bungs :D

Looks like it's coming along nicely!!

Looking the "DB's" Not long till you "kick the tyres and light the fires"?

If you're using pre-moulded hoses from "an other" make/model, I really would keep a note of which hose came from what, to save time when/if they need replaced!

  • Author

yeah, they were only 4 squids each anyway

  • 2 weeks later...

This moved on at all Tom?
