I wish I could arrogantly make assumptions about other member's finances.

I'd also like to see your face after you 'chewed and spat out' my Fabia :D

You may have a nice car, and a Subaru, but personally I think you need to come back down to earth a little with your attitude.

P.S. My mate's Saxo vs a 330 bhp Evo 6

but look on the bright side he probably has a really nice blue rally jacket.

It doesn't matter what car you drive there will always be something faster.

Unless you own a Bugatti Veyron  :P :D

it must have either been knackered or driven by a numpty, fwd will never handle as well 4wd especially if your pushing a shed full of power through the front wheels.

Er not true.

4WD is the worst handling between FWD RWD and 4WD. The only time that 4WD comes into its own is in the wet.

Topgear once did a handling test where they took 3 Cars of equal power to the MIRA test facility. Cant remember what models they were but one was a BMW (RWD) Audi (4WD) and cant for the life of me remember which was the FWD car. they did a series of handling tests one of which was putting the cars thru a series of S bends and seeing which car was fastest and which held the road the best (they put cuddly toys on the track)

The order it came out was

RWD

FWD

4WD.

So 4WD isnt necessarily the best. dont get me wrong its good. but it only shows its benefits in the wet

Isnt that the on that Clarkson drove and it kept falling to pieces and going on fire?? or was that a different car?

Nah different car.

thats rubbish though mater as a skyline gtr will be massively better than something else, its down to an individual car rather than a sweeping statement like that.

gary you say that a wrx is overrated? well you couldn't keep up with mavis, which couldn't keep with my skoda which couldn't keep with a standard wrx so yours will have no chance at all :)

Hmm i still reckon the veyron will beat any car on the road. Ive seen a lot of videos of the veyron and never seen anything with in gear acceleration like that car

I said cars of equal power and thats the reason Topgear tested cars of equal power so that they could get a true reflection of which drivetrain is best

Borrax the popcorn smilie is playing up.

If you want ultimate performance buy a bike.

You buy a car over a bike for 3 main reasons:

Safety

Practicality

Comfort

Of which a citroen saxo is none of.

End.

but power isn't the be all and end all is it?

and well done to paul for posting a completely useless video  how about we see a video of a veyron Vs that F1, wanna put some money it?

how about

or

or

or this even with a carrera GT

as said its not the engine/transmission etc thats is the be all and the end all its the entire package that makes a fast car.

its ok, i got a whooping off a tatty looking vectra 1.8 the other day, it just happens he went to the same place i was going and when i asked what he had under the hood he popped open his boot and revealed a massive NOS bottle!! :(

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: Good Point! That goes for most French cars.

Dunno. Renault's are pretty comfy and safe, if not made out of very nice materials.

Fast car does not make a fast driver.

Look at how fast the Stig can whip a bog standard car round a track?

Any idiot can go fast in a straight line (near enough) throw corners, road conditions etc then it all changes.

Forgot to ask was this girl quite good looking?

tell me why most rally cars are 4 wd then?

she was in the passenger seat her guide dog was driving:)

but it can't be as simple as given the same/similar power rwd>fwd>4wd; wasn't the 4wd R32 quicker than the rwd 130M Sport on both Top Gear and 5th Gear? and when they did old racing cars vs new sports car on Top Gear, didn't the fwd FRS beat the rwd Escort rally car?

tell me why most rally cars are 4 wd then?

traction? pretty much everything else that gets raced is rwd
