Annihilated by a Saxo

Featured Replies

same goes for Redbaron vs whitelightning... the supra had almost 3 times the power to the octy.. but the 'baron.. stripped and on slicks was carrying far more speed through the corners.

That was some sight to watch. Shame I dont have the video anymore.

  • i do find it funny how some of you rave about how good the 106 gti was yet slate the saxo vts, such comedy.

Take heart that if you to both hit a brick wall at 30mph head-on, you'll be walking out the car - Same could not be said for the saxo driver. ;) (in all probability)

about right watched one (saxo) plough into the back end of a people carrier at about 25-30, dunno about not being able to walk but i'm sure the front end halved in length!

My mate's not long written of his Pug 106 GTI. Head on at 40 with a Izuzu pick up.

Surely you mean oversteer?

My car is totally stripped, as a result even more nose heavy. You just adapt your driving to suit the car - not the car to suit you ;)

I don't feel the need for a diff myself, good rubber and big cherries with the all eibach setup and jabba arb and minus ALOT of wieght = adequate :), unless face with a Megane F1 on roundabouts :(

If I stay in the UK, and keep the car, battery will be relocated to the boot, and A/C will be coming off to try and help the nose wieght.

It actually handles better with seats in etc, and a boot full of tools, but slows it down.

no i definatly mean understeer, the trick is to go in way too fast and wait for it to break traction, and understeer towrds the outside of the corner, under normal circumstances you would back off the throttle and let the nose grip and tuck in,but with a diff equipped car at this point you give it some beans and watch the magic happen as you suddenly find more grip and head for the apex,it takes a bit to get used too,but its good when you finally get the hang of it:D

It certainly went well around the 'Ring :D

Yet another reason to go again in October.

I saw a bmw M3csl in my mirror once just going down the slip road of the M40

He overtook an Audi TT and a Merc, just on the slip road

I put my foot down, now iv got a standard octy Mk1 Vrs,the speedo was indicating 149mph

When he caught up he went past me like a bullit train,as if i was stood still

I dont know what their top speed is but it had to be more than 155mph

Imagine doing about 115/120mph on an autobahn to have a Veyron shoot past you literally like you where stationary and it was doing 90mph. Funny thing was no engine noise just wind noise, nearly blew me off the road and I was in a heavy S500.

Errrrr.... I only did physics for one year in uni, but were you or the Veyron in reverse at the time? That's the only way I can see this making even a little sense! :P :rofl:

good job you only did it for one year cos you would have failed.

if you were doing 115 and it past you with a 90mph speed differential it wqould mean it was doing 205....

:)

The post stated "it was doing 90mph" while he was "doing about 115/120mph on an autobahn"

I would like to point out that no differential speed was noted.

The only way that someone doing a constant velocity of "115/120MPH" could have been passed by another car "doing 90mph" would be if they were going in different directions

You would have failed for not reading the question properly. So na-na-ne-na-nah! :P

... anyhoo, I'm a computing geek not physics, so this may not be precisely right!

I hereby apologise profusely to RedBaron for being such a pernickety pain in the bumhole. If ever we meet in person I'll happily buy him a pint!

Fail!

James equates the Veyron passing him as the equivalent to him being stationary and the Veyron doing 90mph.

So not only a physics fail but english as well. :P:D
