Furby vRS on top gear

Featured Replies

As I suspected. :)

So now for the real test - the Civic Type-R, at 4,155 euros additional cost over a standard Fab vRS... And yes, you may spend all that extra money on performance upgrades. :D

Or add another 1,500 if you're adamant on having aircon in your CTR!

Hmm, i think the CTR would win there... they are very fast cars when driven correctly! but then again, you get much better economy and a comfy ride (in comparison) in the furby... tho dunno how good quality the road tarmac is over there! :D

Usually very good... so yes, the CTR's still number one in my book.

But I'm more worried about the driver not driving it correctly!

Or alternatively just buy a REAL vRS ....................job done !!!

For all our Furby owning friends , a REAL vRS is an Octy ;)

I missed TG tonight, who was doing the driving ?

Clarkson in the Furby and Richard Hammond (hamster) in the Mini....

Oh great, professionals then

Skoda Wins :D

The Fabia does need better brakes.

Really? Both my MINI Cooper S's had worse brakes than my Fabia vRS.

i bet there'll be be a few posts in the next few days from robmawer!!

evening rob btw :)

PLEASE DON'T START THAT AGAIN! I AM SCARED FOR LIFE!

saw two ctrs being driven in-correctly last year.

came round a corner one morning to see one that had been into the undergrowth and back again at speed - what a mess

then saw one loose it - big time-he was pushing it at speed on very wets roads at hit a shogun so hard it spun the shogun

I was sooo glad to be on the other side of the dual carraigeway!

Really. Had many heart in mouth moments when the ABS has kicked in and refussed to slow the car down

A standard vRS would keep a cooper S honest in pure straight line performance...

I can vouch for that. MCS's aren't at all what they are creacked up to be - in a straight line atleast. Corners? Dream on Skoda. Sorry. They're light-years apart. The MCS walks it.

Sorry.

The single pot brakes on the Furby are much better than the 2-pot setup on the Scooby (stopping from similar speeds)! Have also found that now the suspension is sorted and there is practically no nose-diving under braking, the brakes are far stronger and more effective. :D

Have to agree with this - went out in a mate's Cooper S as a passenger (he wouldn't let me behind the wheel! ;)) and the handling is sublime and the chassis is so stiff. However, I would say that a Fabia with 500 quid's worth of replacement springs and dampers should easily keep up with it......... :D

I've had that too, but the same is true for many production 'sports' cars though.

Fade I believe.

I know that when I sprinted the fab at ty croes last month I was quite astounded how well it both handled and braked on STANDARD equipment.Did go off  for a bit of lawn mowing however, but that was me just trying to find the limit  ...........of my life expectancy!

Cracking car. Future classic?

Now with the eibachs on, nose-diving is reduced but still not confident with the brakes. (Now thinking its my driving  Well my last car was over 300kg lighter)

It seems to me that the ABS kicks in too early and when it does it goes ape ****.

Brake fade, now that was heart in mouth time when i first incountered it on the furby:thumbdwn:
