I doubt it, but he's a wily old fox, he makes you think he's agreeing with you but never is...

It's the mind-altering effects of Dynamic Blue paint you know ;)

 ...............very similar to owning a Fabia vRS ;)

Again, the test track "race" was on a wet track, with 2 total muppets doing the driving. Neither car is going to show in its best light on those standard tyres and wet (just look at how the GT40 was spinning in the wet). If it had been filmed/done in the dry, it would have beem a much better comparison. The only thing the event proved ,was that the Fab vRS suprised the show with its grunt and pull. Because lets be honest it was dismissed out of hand, before and even after the race as well.

Think Manny's bandwidth limit has been reached as I can't sem to download the vid now! :(

Has anybody got about 15mb of spare webspace I can send this file to, that should help no end. I would use the office webserver but I think someone would notice.

Graeme, I am downloading to work. I'll try and make the file smaller, if you pm me an email address, I'll send you one thats about 6mb in size.

Why was it not fair? Drivers were about equal and the conditions were the same for each car and each car was factory spec, I assume?! Had the Stig been behind the wheel of either one, I suspect it would be a significantly different outcome. ;)

Also thought it was interesting how after the race, there were no real comments about the Fabia or the future of "hot" hatches....

Chris

Downloaded it - thanks Manny! :D

Ah, but the drivers are not equal, are they? Look at the politics of the show...JC is *never* wrong, and any of these competitive things (look at the "race to the south of France", the "cars for

...I've not managed to download it either. I would really like it - please!

erm, I'd say that JC is the lesser driver of the two (Hammond has dabbled quite a bit at racing, and look at JC's best lap time). And he also gave the Furby a considerable weight disadvantage. Clarkson has been known to loose, just not very often!

Just been to mini2.com, and they seem to be taking it quite well. As an ex-Cooper, and prospective Furby owner, I found the article very interesting!

(Oh, and I have injected a few comments over on mini2.com that should get that debate moving a bit!)

Also Clarkson is probably a more experienced driver than RH...

He may be more experienced, but RH (by his own admission) is a driving god ;)

For all your top gear & 5th gear torrents.

Clarkson 100Kg? Hammond 50Kg? makes 50 Kg lighter for Mini that corresponds to about 6BHp extra available on direct comparison so the Fabia is even better. ( despite being a short revving diesel ...biased Octy view!!)
