Featured Replies

For anyone who wants to see what Steel Grey is like. It's an Elegance CR170 DSG with Black Leather. It also has Sunset Glass, Park Assist, 3-Spoke Wheel & Paddles, Floor Mats.

I think it looks cool! If anyone is local to Epsom today and wants to have a play with the new car, I'm here at the garage today and tommorow. Oh and I'm pretty bored so you can take it out for a spin just to give me something to do!

Now that looks better now the wheel is on the correct side.

Thanks for all the pictures James. I can't quite see from the photos, but does the RHD car have left AND right foot rests like the Octy II?

Here's one.

Thats a nice looking car.

The only thing I would find a pain is the lack of km/h on the speedo. In this day of euro motoring only having mph will make continental motoring interesting.

Here's one.

Can see the left foot rest, but does it have one for the right foot also for when running on cruise control

Looking at the picture above, it doesnt look like it.

Just check 1 of ours, deffinitely not!, just the left foot rest

The right foot rest in the Octy is a god send, think would really miss it IF I ever changed to the Superb

That is the same colour as the one in my local dealer - LOOKING GOOOOOOOD!!!!!!

where's the pics?

EDIT: ignore above they just took ages to appear!

Now I do know - I want, I want, I want :D:D

Just hope my local dealer gets one soon.

Defo a big car , looks like lots of room in the back , do the rear sets fold down flat as in the octy , or are they fixed .

They drop, plus the parcel shelf slides into the back of the upright part.

Check my last photo in my original post, there is a kp/h read out on the maxi-dot between the 2 dials. Not having both kp/h and mph on the dials makes them look less cluttered and the read out is handy.

If you drive abroad alot like myself you'll be pleased to hear that gone are the days of putting stickers on your headlamps (now illegal) and rather than coming to a dealer to get your lights adjusted. New Superbs fitted with AFS technolodgy (STD on Elegance) have the ability to self adjust to LHD countries by going into the maxi-dot setup and look under light assistant. Very handy!

Is that a digital display between the rear seats?

Yes- Reads out the exterior air temp and the time. I also was lead to believe that you can make it tell the rear passengers time/miles to destination according to the sat-nav. But I can't seem to make it work, so maybe someone could enlighten me?

One annomoly - Why does the Park Assist read in KMH when the Maxidot is in Miles?

Looks very nice

Not heard any mention of this. Was always told that it was just temperature and time.

On a totally unrelated note, why is the park assist display on the Columbus in German? I'm guessing there must be a language setting somewhere? That probably also explains why the park assist speedo is showing in km/h.

Thanks for all the pictures. I'm very much looking forward to mine arriving now. Still wishing I could have afforded the DSG, as that 3-spoke wheel looks so much nicer than the 4-spoke. Oh well.

I'm getting a bit worried that steel grey is going to be the new race blue, as lots of dealers seem to have ordered this colour. It does look good mind, so no regrets here.

Bagpuss.

The km/h readout on the maxi-dot screen is always there. No matter what your are doing with the screen even if it is park assist/audio/nav/phone it always has the km/h readout is always there.

The columbus unit is stuck in German at the the moment as we are having trouble getting the code.

Steel Grey is nice, but I now wish I ordered a Mocca Brown with Ivory leather.

What a stunning looking car!

What code do you need for the Columbus, surely you just need to change the language.

I think you'll need maps installed to do that so stick a map disk in the slot and then into the settings and you should be sorted.

We don't have the radio code and our crappy 5052 has been playing up since we updated it. Plus elsawin won't recognise the serial number of the columbus unit for some reason. Really annoying.

It looks utterly fantastic.

looks great, just wish the fabia had the same look !!
