Ive got what is probably a very stupid question - all the pics of MkII octys I see have square plates in the front bumpers - mine doesn't.

Are these simply the washers for people with Xenons?

Yes.

Yes, below the headlights they will be the washer covers - got them on my L&K with xenons and I believe Elegance have them to (I think, not sure model year or options but I'm sure some Elegance owners say they have them).

Headlight washers are the law with factory fitted xenons.

IIRC standard on elegance from 2004

Pretty sure they are on my 2008 Ambiente.

Perhaps a regional options, but for DK its an extra option. (Wouldn't mind it myself)

Have them on mine, but only because I have Xenons. By law, all vehicles fitted with Xenons have to have washers. In Portugal only Octy2 with Xenons comes with washers. Elegance without Xenons doesn't come with washers.

Anyway, I found them so anoying and useless that I've disabled them.

Not an import, but I am located in Denmark so maybe thats why. Just as bosnjo says.

my 2005 / 55 plate has them. Bit annoying at times, and can't say I've really noticed the difference. Probably will once winter sets in up here though

I have these washers on a 2007 L&K ( ordinary headlights ) . I don't think they do much apart from use a lot of washer fluid !

Am I correct in saying that the Elegance has Headlight washers but not Xenons headlights, ( Xenons are an optional Extra ) The're projecter lights but still have washers according to the spec list as it states internally headlight adjusters......you can't adjust Xenons from the inside of the car

Standard on 4x4 even without Xenons.

Can be a bit of a pain, as they wash the lights every forth time you wash the screen and the lights are on.

My off-the-peg, bog-standard, no extras 2006 Elegance has the washers but no Xenons
