You can leave anytime. You just pay to go in, park on the Brisky club stand, wander round, buy a disgusting sausage if you dare, then leave if you want or go on the drive or whatever. Best way.

I think the suggestions of not planning anything at all, just all happening to go on the same week and doing our own thing is pointless - may as well just get on Jet2 and go wherever the hell you want for a week with your family, mates whatever.

I think the idea of two trips is also ridiculous - again, whats the point of a brisky road trip if we're not all going together? Just go on your own holiday! Also then everyone would have to pick who they wanted to go with, and which week to go and blah blah, just makes it all the more difficult!

I think the trip should be arranged with 3-4 "group events" one obviously being the factory, one maybe a brewery, probably a trip to the airfield, another Doksy and another possibly one night everyone going for a meal, I really enjoyed that night we all went to that restaurant as I mentioned before.

All of these should then be optional - most people will do at least two of these I would have thought and at least it doesn't leave everyone wandering round wondering what the hell to do! If there is an organised trip at least it will motivate people and get a proper brisky meet atmosphere going!

The rest of the time can just be free to fill how you wish. Theres plenty to see in the city. I feel this approach worked well last year and at least makes it feel worthwhile going as a group.

You can be quite coherent and logical when you want to be Loz, you're not just a pretty face and a nice pair of jubblies afterall ;) :P

I Like to think that being coherent and logical are two of my qualities, but I don't object to the other two either  lol!!

Not at all Loz, i think if there is enough interest of say 30 places that some might not want to do doksy while the other half will, this would then create two trips to CZ as 30 cars on one trip will be quite a headache compared to 15. this is why a cut off at 15 has been made. if another 15 are interested we could run a second hitting CZ on the day of the first trip ending and have a huge brisky meet up for the day there.

At the moment its a case of everyone running ideas through on this thread. you have stated your view about how you think the trip should be along with others. I have no qualms about what anyone has got to say, rather everyone gets it into the open now what they want and dont want so its clear in advance and not in the middle of the trip in CZ.

So who's going to organise the second trip? Or the first? Or whichever one the person who organises the trip ISN'T on?

i guess you havent read this thread then?

Some of it, but at 6 pages long, most of it just babble I have better things to do.

As regards number of people, there were about 40 people on the last trip, compared to 12 on the first one, and it went without a hitch. I maintain that splitting it into two groups kinda dampens the whole idea of the trip.

i know what you mean. but basically i personally not interested in the dorksy side of things, the air field yes, the factory tour yes, around CZ yes. i want to explore the country and prague and get to see things. the pics from last year was enough to buy me. However like yourself and others we not interested in walking around a forest of cars. trax was ok for a few hours but i myself got quite bored by the afternoon as there wasnt much to entertain the mind.

Therefore if we can get enough to run two trips those wanting to do dorksy can go on the first and those who want a slightly more relaxed trip can go on the second, its just an idea as Cz is a popular brisky trip and as we planning in well in advance it gives us time to toy with many ideas.

It's Doksy Paul, it's also a place so starts with a capital letter.

Anyway, how's your orxford meet coming along? ;) :P

Paul, having never been on one of these trips, you are perhaps misunderstand the 'Doksy side of things'. It's literally one day, well, a few hours. It wont have any significant effect on your trip if you go over this weekend. It seems that quite a few people aren't interested in going next year - a few cars will probably attend and those who aren't bothered will no doubt tram surf into town - it really is that simple, and certainly not a good reason to start dividing the trip. I'd rather everyone was there for me to have fun with! If we go over that weekend then all it does is open up another option for those who WANT to go. There may well be people who don't want to go to the factory again. I like the factory, and now I'm at uni I will get in for about £2.28 again, bargain!! Some others may choose to go into town that day, up to them. The only thing that gets c0cked up by everyone sticking together is the travelling. Regrouping at a couple of points, like Aachen and CZ border worked perfectly well. As did the rest of the trip, and there was a hell of a lot of people! There was no pressure on anyone to do anything, but the options were there and so were all the people!

Tbh, I'd be surprised if you got the numbers that high you need to think about 2 trips. As seen on both last years Prague trip and this years Euro trip, many people say they are interested, but when that comes to paying out cash then suddenly reality sets in and they pull out.

I agree Alan, it's not the sort of thing that gets overrun with people, it's a long way and costs alot more than the usual Brisky day out lol

Do the 'ring instead... :D

Do the 'ring instead... :D

Oh yes! That's a date for April - Just waiting on the opening times. In many ways I'm more eager to get something sorted for the Ring than I am Czech. :o

Yep.. Czech is a long way to go for a semi-****up..

I might go, but ill be flying :D

The journey by car is all part of the experience imo :rally:

The journey by car is all part of the experience imo :rally:

But ive done it once....

and this time round it will cost more than double considering fuel costs and the fact i have a proper engine now

However you look at it its definately not a cheap holiday!

and this time round it will cost more than double .....

and the rest, the Mazda3 MPS engine is not exactly renowned for its efficciency as a petrol engine.

It would probably take me 2 tankfuls to get there, but like Colin I would be more disposed to just fly there and do a few days in Prague rather than do the driving stuff.

If I had a turbo powered fridge like Colin's car, I'd fly too. :P

Well can get 35odd mpg on a run... but for my current useage im getting about 250mpg out of a tank.. about 25-27mpg indicated.

so for me, 1000 miles door to door looking at 4 fillups each way... bout 200quid each way just in fuel.. plus would no doubt do at least 1 tank at the airfield.. and another 2 just driving around like last year...

So yeah.. expensive

Share the fuel and you are looking at around £250 each (but I think that is WAY over the top, I spent around a total of £350 last year on fuel) OR about the same as a return flight and hiring a car to get around

So as I see it, it just boils down to whether or not you can be bothered to spend the time with your friends driving there and back and putting some extra milage on the car + having a bit of fun in the process! :rubchin: ;)

Well, I'll be driving.

But then I should be able to do the whole trip on around 5 tanks of fuel. 1 tank set-aside for runway action, and possible Ring laps on way back too.

not doing an orxford meet mate as its at Abingdon and its called Oxon to us locals :P

Loz im not looking to get into a petty arguement over it, it was an idea discussed early on about the logistics of 40 plus cars. i beleive jason (or maybe someone else) suggested that we limit the places. a few moaned about it being limited so i suggested a second trip IF it was fesible to cater for more. You also need to remember the problems mentioned after the last one with things like resturants etc. At the end of the day its an idea i have suggested which like Alan has mentioned probably wont even need to be considered when it comes to paying up the first deposit. Its not dividing the trip at all, you can go with whoever, its just giving choice to those who want to choose.

Sounds like it'll be 'fun and laughter' all the way on this trip with you Paul!

In the words of Dragons Den "I'm out" ;)
