just an idea ive thought of has anyone successfully managed to get discount on previous trips for bulk bookings of the ferry etc?

ferry is cheap enough. Complicates it too much trying to bulk buy ferry tickets really. Hotel can probably be bartered down - I'm sure Steve bartered the Hotel Mars.

Not much scope for saving money in other areas really.

If I might make a suggestion, given that Jason as very kindly offered to book the accomodation, liaise for Doksy and factory, then it should be up to him to say what limit he wants to put on HIS trip, if it is oversubscribed there is nothing to stop another member organising the same trip, AT the same time, maybe to a different hotel, factory at a different time etc)

I would also suggest that if Jason isn't interested in organising a big meal out ( and last year 1 of our meals didn't happen even tho it was booked/organised, because it was deemed not worthwhile) then if whoever is interested get names and numbers when they know whos going and organise it themselves seperately.

ATM it would appear to anyone looking that there is 134 posts of bickering about wether its a car club outing and who should go when and do what, If I was Jason I would quite frankly be saying sod it

Something will be done but given it's the 1st October I can't even contemplate it. Let me concentrate on exams and stuff. If I pass my next 2 I'm all done and will be qualified, so will have no worries in 2009.

i know what your saying mr pat, so sorry to jason if he feels im in the way, just want to make sure this trip goes ahead for 2009. the idea of limiting spaces comes from a post from mr fish who has good knowledge of organising CZ trip's so ive followed his advice and tips as well as use previous trip threads for information and research. At the end of the day we have a good few on this thread who are all willing to help out on organising the trip in some form or another and hopefully this will be the best trip to date.

I've driven from Wakefield to Ibiza in just under 36 hours ! Not much sleep but a whole cracking bit of fun !

I'd Love to take Skoda "back home" always promised myself to take a car over to the continent..... but the rosyth to zeebrugge route has gone (replaced next year with a "freight and passengers only ferry" which i assume doesnt take private cars....) so from where i live (near to inverness on the moray coast) its out of the question :(

Very true mate, we have the same problem coming from edinburgh, suppose we could us the one in Newcastle or travel down to London where a few days before.

Depending where we're staying your more than welcome to stay the night at ours if for example we left from newcastle.
