WW VRS - Fabia vRS Combi

Featured Replies

I've certainly noticed that they looked lower after a drive when I had Eibachs fitted to both Fabias I've had. First with just the spring change, and this one when FSDs went on as well.

  • I've stripped both cars, cleaned the estate and today i got the engine loom, abs pump, brake lines etc swapped. I had a mechanic friend over doing the clutch, timing belt, water pump, hybrid turbo et

  • Tell me about it, i'm always fixin them. So far in my house he has fitted a dimmer switch, something is wrong here.

  • You excited yet?

Let's hope so :) - There will be a few trips to come I have a feeling, probably I'll find something to load her up with :D

Nice wheels! They really suit the car well - Good job boys!

Only just noticed the side strips are off too ;)

Excellent work Ross..............when am I coming around to finish it off..................:D

I'd love to, but as the money for that does not exist, it won't be happening anytime soon unfortunately. Based on some the pics it is likely to drop a bit anyway though, I'm pretty much convinced of that now :)

I reckon it'll be fine mate, and you'll get better ride compliance with the FSDs :)

I love my FSDs, was a good replacement for the Eibach shocks as they were too bouncy IMHO :)

It drove out today under its own power :)

Still requires an ABS bleed as the brakes are very soft but at least it has some fluid in the system and the clutch works. Dash is lit up like a xmas tree, most of that is coding issues and shouldn't be too much hassle. PAS isn't working which is a little concerning. Maybe due to the ESP etc not being coded and set up, maybe due to the fact the pump was on the corner that got thumped in the accident. Need to look into this but that can be treated as a seperate issue when everything else is done and dusted.

Of course a few pictures...

Got a fair bit of work on and the weather has been awful recently up at the farm so progress has slowed a little. But im doing what I can when I can.

Brilliant stuff :) Still a fair bit of snow/ice there though!

excellent news ross

Good stuff.

WTF is going on with the crazy ride height though?? Top mounts on upside down or something?

Don't forget the 'W8' dome lighting mod and footwell lighting to add the final 'classy' touches

Oh hush up you.

:P - it will drop a bit more, no doubt :P

The W8 light mod may be possible, but for now the aim is to get it running again as Ross needs the room, and I need a car ;)

The first thing now is to get her up to Ross high standards and after that, we can see what is possible ;)

Yes that ride height is CRAZY. I mean, it might get over a speed bump? Hell, who is going to impress the unemployed teenagers???? Dammit Ross, just take the springs out...

Ross - your work is great. Congratulations on this now being a 'car' with a few issues, it's a significant phase. I have a similar motor in ATM, the difference is that it was just broken in every possible area, not a conversionl.... ugh... :-\

The front of the vRS was pretty messed up suspension wise, but I'm sure it will be a lot better now ;)

The Estate had done near enough 250k miles, so although it drove pretty well, it should feel much, much nicer now :D

Height wise, it will drop a tad more probably but to be fair, it was low enough to hit the towbar on the concrete in our work car park (multi-storey) so much lower will only cause problems in reality.

Should be a great drive once done

looks good!!!

Great work Ross and I think that the black wheels suit the black touches elsewhere on the car............

ESP/ABS lights out, bulb warning light out, boot open light out and the engine management light out, falling one by one :)

Also had the not so small task of a full service and removing a turbo on an Octavia vRS this morning before joing my wife and daughter for some lunch then other tasks this afternoon.

No rest for the wicked.

Brilliant stuff  - also the plate looks good :)

Hope you have a nice afternoon with the family!
