WW VRS - Fabia vRS Combi

Featured Replies

It will be a night and day difference between the 100bhp original and the 2x that (at least) with it looking better than new (IMHO) and expertly put together and cleaned. It is incredible how 'new' she looks now :)

On the towbar side, IIRC it has pulled the black vRS a few times to various places and back again LOL, Bengie's car, also the shell for Ali's project car :)

Money well spent that, as having to move those about would have cost at least 3 times as much :)

  • I've stripped both cars, cleaned the estate and today i got the engine loom, abs pump, brake lines etc swapped. I had a mechanic friend over doing the clutch, timing belt, water pump, hybrid turbo et

I was stood on the bench..lol

Sits to high IMHO not sure why. Maybe this is how the Eibachs are, seen so many these days dropped on coil overs its hard to remember.

It is weird how high this car sits on the Eibachs, I'm so sure it normally sits lower on the vRS - still, the wheels look great

It looked like the wheels had white spots on them in one of the pics  guessing that's the shine of the camera?

She's looking good :)

Having just rechecked - I am 100% positive it sits higher than on the vRS, there was about 3/4 inch max gap at the front at least, and the back was flush IIRC, not sure if I have any pics of it though :(

What dampers is it sitting on?

Love the wheels. :)

Maybe some spacers on the back wouldn't go amiss? :P

They are Eibach Pro springs (from the GB at the time) for the vRS though, not for the Estate, and Koni FSDs (ditto). The bent one was replaced by one new one (definitely the right one). It is weird though, but to be fair, even though perhaps it should be lower, the ground clearance is needed :)

I had S3s on my first vRS, on Eibachs and std dampers, and it did sit lower than that. I'll dig out a pic...

Steve

Thanks Steve

I initially thought it would drop more as the vRS engine/gearbox combo is much heavier than the PD100 with 5 speed box that was in there before. Also the vRS front bumper is of course lower. That said, the front bumper seems about the 'right height' for what I was expecting.

The only other thing I can think of is that the wheel arches are higher up for some reason on the estate. I know everything has been fitted expertly by Ross, refitting what I had fitted up front before Ross started his magic ;) - that was at Bengie's place and we at that point thought it was a tad heigh too.

Not a lot can be done about it though for now, other than perhaps fitting larger tyres hehe :P

Slam it! :D

Slam it! :D

Would be nice, but as that costs money and the Koni FSDs are virtually new (3x) and brand new (1x) that will have to wait until they are worn out unless they're donated :o

Found one...

Standard shocks and Eibach springs. :)

This any help? I do have more shots, but thought these showed the arch area quite well.

LOL - same wheels on both as well (although mine have had a lovely paint jobby & a Skoda center ;))

Both look lower to me, what do you guys think?

By some coincidence, they're actually exactly the same set of wheels :) - I bought those from Kenny on here, when that vRS was sold

I think both look a little lower than yours currently. Could it be that as the car's not been moved about or driven, that they still need to settle on the car?

Steve

i was about to say what wardy did it might just need to settle with a good drive and loaded with a few fat arses should do the trick and then compare:thumbup:
