Keep up the good work, Ross. PS: Dad liked his Xmas pressies. Fronts are getting low apparently ;)

Wiebo do one thing when you get it back on the road, drive it a bit more carefully as there is a lot of work (by ross) gone into it.

Yet again been labouring away up the unit (depsite -2.5 degree temperature) on the Estate. Todays task was do swap all the comfort door wiring and locks etc etc over to the vRS stuff. This meant removing all the regulators and windows etc.

A few pics from today..

As the doors were stripped out bare...

Knowing Wiebo has a bit of a thing for sound deadening I sound proofed all the doors before rebuilding them. Also got a whole bunch of pics to do a how to in removing the carriers.

Rears were a right pain as they have been sealed up with silicone so I had to cut the carrier and then clean all the sealer off before fitting the vRS carrier (51 plate Comfort with no rear lock buttons now ;) ).

Still a fair bit to do but another chunk done.

Nice Ross, but no real need to swap the rears!

I've swapped them as I wanted to strip the doors down anyhow, the wiring looms have different part numbers but I wanted to fit all the later and new door locks as they are well known to give problems,

The pics couldn't have come at a better time - hope to tackle a dodgy regulator tmrw am. Wish I had the time to remove all the cards and carriers and sound-proof the doors. Lucky WW....

The guide is done, have a read and let me know if its any good.

nice one! and that view of the clips for the window glass - all is clear now...

Think that mine has rivets, but pretty obvious to drill them out and re-rivet later...

Yeah thats it.

Looking totally awesome :)

It took me 20 minutes to get this page to load up today for some reason, brisky kept giving me blank pages but BIG thanks Ross

Looks like however whomever fitted the Powerflex wishbone bushes cross threaded the bolts that go into the console, they are jammed in there good. .

i found when i did my Cupra bushes , one of my bolts ended up like that , even though i started it by hand etc , and know its not crossed , it went in ok but when i tried to loosen it slightly , no way was it going to move, luckily it went tight

good work on the car

Might well be due to the corrosion then (steel bolt in aluminium housing), thats why rally you should replace the green coated bolts. I dont normally as a rule but never had one stuck like this before.

They were fitted about 10k into the life of the vRS IIRC by CC HQ, couldn't comment on how well that was done but no doubt a bit of Ross' persuation has been used to get them out? ;)

i know, but you never know

I always drive carefully :P:P:P

That stated, it would be rude not to try out the power ;)

of course but with a bit more care this time ;) how about something like the IAM advance training?

If I had money and time I'd go for it, still got a few things to sort out with regards the past that will probably cause both those things to be scarce to say the least unfortunately :(

The incident I had was not related to the use of the power anyway ;)

The soundproofing adds to the weight of the car a little, but it makes the car a lot nicer to drive over long distances - my recent clients have been in Holland and Belgium in addition to the UK so it is worth it (plus the derv is cheaper on the continent) ;)

Hopefully it will warm up a bit so Ross does not end up with frost bite :D
