Mine vibrates a lot and takes away al the fun of listening to the music the moment you play a little louder:mad:

Impressive! ...a very brave upgrade So is this uprated sound system available as an option in UK. I've never noticed it? I did notice on the pics of the facelifted octavia the extra speakers in the doors and thought it might have been a new addition - obviously not? I'd definitely spec it if I was ordering new...

I remember it was on the dealer demo I drove. But I thought they stopped offering it around the time the Stream Mp3 units came out. In Ireland it was part of the Audience Upgrade IIRC

Its not just extra door speakers, they are better speakers and you also get an amplifier. Its actually very well priced.

Nice work fella and would consider fitting them myself if i found them the right price as my car currently looks like the the pictures half way through fitting (drivers seat is out, both drivers doors are bare and centre console is also out) so would be half way there already.

But im thinking im going to put it all back together first and then decide on which way il go with the sound system (got a few ideas) as the standard HU has no preouts :(, but after fitting systems in every car ive had i would rather have the standard HU in this one and possible a half decent set of components.

Just a quick question in regards to this setup. Is it an optional extra across the range or was it fitted standard to any models?

Almost certainly 4ohm. Rule of thumb - domestic audio 8 ohm, car audio 4 ohm

But the bass speckers for sound system (it is visible in picture) have 2 ohm while the standard bass have 4 ohm. The middle speckers have 4 ohm. i understand the amplifier for sound system had a protection that verify speckers impedance and shot down if not right impedance.

so i want to be sure for right impedance.

Just how easy would it be to fit rear speakers to the classic??? I already have the ones next to the door handles but not wired

If you have a Bolero or Columbus you can use the speaker outputs as pre-outs for an amp, you just need to change the coding with VCDS which drops the output levels.
