vRS - Pulling to the left

Featured Replies

test drove a vRS tonight and its pulling to the left slightly, only really notice it above 40mph, at 60-70 its more noticeable

any common cause or things to look for

mine does exactly the same too so i will be intrested to hear the answer

lots of times it can be the road camber,,,if not check tracking.

seems the happen not matter what the camber, and my tyres are not showing any signs of bad tracking after 10k mile!

What about the rear tyres - are they inflated properly? And does it definitely pull, it's not the steering wheel off centre?

Agreed.. its fun to see how long it takes to hit the hard shoulder... sometimes you dont need to pull back in :D

genius :D:thumbup:

Mine drives straight - it would drive me nuts if it pulled any way other than straight ahead;)

Mine pulls to the left, sometimes combined with camber I can take bends without steering ;-)

Same here :)

Me too, took mine back to the dealers couple of months after i bought it, but aparently its just what they do. Somthing to do with the set up means that any slight camber will pull it over. If you drive on the wrong side of the road, ie when overtaking, you will feel it pull the other way.

I've got this problem too and when I think about it, it's kind of annoying. I took the Furby to a local dealer recently for a pre-warranty expiry check up and mentioned the steering predicament. They noticed it too so at least I felt vindicated. Reasons for a drift would be camber, but it was a definite pull. I had it tracked a while ago and around 2 days later it was back to it's old habit.

But he said that it should be tracked only when the tank is full or thereabouts as 'the suspension geometry changes dramatically when its empty'. I've to put on a new set of front tyres and will heed the advice and let you know the outcome.

:)

Been having similar problems and after taking it down to JabbaSport last week they discovered my steering rods are knackered so having them replaced on Wednesday so I will let you know if this cures this problem.

ok cheers, thanks for all the replies, excellent !

Mine has always pulled to the left, despite a couple of suspension changes, tyre changes, bushes, geo setups etc. Just one of those things. AFAIK - the only person to have cured it is Basil with some rear axle shims.

very strange this, you would think Skoda might have noticed this when developing the car !

Camber of the road runs the other way in the EU ;)

thats my guess anyway

Mine also pulls to the left but that could be down to the **** roads down here .

and I thought it was just me. Can be quite bad sometimes. I've had alignment checked at dealer a couple of times and always been fine, although thy did adjust wheel once.

Like someone said if drive on otherwise of the road pulls other way.

Doesn't usually annoy me unless I think about it, and then it f**ks me right off!

Funny that - two or three times I've noticed it ,but can't say it consiusly causes me any problems ,but then I've done 30k+ in mine in two years in it

Its almost safe to say that all VRS pull to the left................

Its almost safe to say that all VRS pull to the left................

Agree

And it''s not the road camber to blame 'cause here it's LHD

It's a Fabia vRS developping issue, somehow linked to the rear axle

Its almost safe to say that all VRS pull to the left................

Almost

Mine doesnt. It used to, mind you. Quite a strong pull too. Got really annoying on a long drive

I fitted Eibach springs, cupra console bushes, and a 4 wheel laser alignment, and its perfect ;) Think it was all down to the 4.W.A personally, as i doubt springs and bushes would make that much difference...

If your thinking of buying a car that " pulls to the left ( or right ) " dont

It could indicate crash damage or an alignment issue with the vehicle

The " standard " dealer reply of " they all do it " is rubbish , as if they cant back it up with written confirmation from SUK , then its just their "opinion" - and leaves you with the problem to fix - at your expense
