iced windows inside

Featured Replies

went to my car this morning at break and both the front and rear windscreens were iced up on the inside.

is this normal ?

no its not normal,

have you checked your rear footwells, you could have leaking doors which leads to more moisture in the car, and given the current temps that could be freezing,

No its not normal but very common, I'd hazard a guess you've got wet rear carpets from leaking rear door! Easy to sort out and very cheap, bottle of sealant and some new interior trim clips. There's a few guides on here including mine. I also read somewhere on here about water collecting just below your wipers which if you have your air vents open allow moisture to get in overtime, not sure how valid this is though, hope you get it sorted soon as its well annoying.

As well as already mentioned, check pollen filter is clean, a dirty filter will hold a lot more moisture than a clean one. Check plenum chamber is not blocked up with leaves etc. Close air vents when leaving car in cold weather. Give windows a thorough clean with Nil Glass and a final clean with IPA spray.

mine has no leaks..i washed it yesterday and this am the front windscreen was completely iced over inside..

it was -11 it can happen when its that cold, my previous car got it nd had no leaks whatsoever

basically your car has had mositure in it when warm and as it gets colder it gets to the glass and freezes, not always a leak but one of the things that causes it. also have you had a blanket over the windscreen with the corners slammed shut inside the doors as this causes it too.

even if its switched on?

I get this regularly. It's because my rear doors leak. Problem is I can't fix the rear door problem because I can't get the blasted door cards off!!

I sealed the 2 rear doors in June the hardiest thing to come off was the first window winder handle i broke a bit off it:rofl: my windscreen froze on the inside also it was bloody cold
