P.D.I'd my first MK6 Golf today.

Featured Replies

Had the honour of doing the pre delivery inspection on our first MK6 Golf, a 2.0 CR GT that is going on demo. I really like the look of it and the colour really suits it. New lines look good and somehow seem to date the MK5 a fair bit. Interior is nice, like the cluster arangement. Only got half way through this evening but even at a quick glance there are a fair few changes under the skin over the MK5. Knee height airbags are interesting..lol.

Coolest feature (not fitted to this one sadly) has got to be the reversing camera, the rear badge pivots up on a motor and the camera is behind it, awesome...lol.

Looks a bit plain to me really

I saw 6 in a row going down the road yesterday morning, the back end looks like a Touraeg thats been in a hot wash. The car looks OK as a whole but nothing more than ok. The GTI in white would look quite special though. They've also gone a bit mad with chrome inserts on the interior IMO.

Just what I was thinking :rubchin:

Is the Jetta getting a facelift too?

Is the Jetta getting a facelift too?

Its more than a facelift really with alot of mechanicals being changed, but havent heard of the Jetta being done.

Looks a bit like the scirroco from the front, the rest is a bit dull IMO.

Do like the dash though.

Thats the idea, its the new family face.

I wonder why does it take so long to get new VW cars to UK? As far as I remember we've had a new Golf VI for some time in the local showroom. I once tried to fit myself behind the wheel and felt really awkward. Maybe because someone really really really short had sat there before me...

But the new Golf looks fine for me. Wouldn't buy it though.

We have had one in our showroom (not this one) since late Novemeber IIRC but we werent allowed to put it on the road.

I really like the mkVI, edgier which i like, design evolution.

really like it

Externally, it's the rear where most improvements have been made. The lights are more sophisitcated and doing away with that black plastic valance is going to make the gti a very good looking car indeed. The interior feels very classy when you are inside. It feels a cut above Skoda now that's for sure. You certainly have to pay for it though.

Looks nice. Like the dash pod. Is that the new VAG pod, or VW/Golf specific?

Remember not to align the xenons, and leave the suspension blocks in place. ;)

I think the front end is much nicer than the mk5, but I think the rear end is a bit boring and the rest isn't changed that much... but saying that, I didn't like the mk 3 / 4 / 5 when they first came out either. I've a feeling we might get one at work to replace the mk4 this year though.

As for the Scirocco - I'd buy one tomorrow if i could afford it :)

No Xenons to worry about, chocks out.

Golf specific pod but looking more like the SEAT one really.

I like it :)

The GTI looks nice, but I'd rather have the 'rocco!

Quite bold for VW really, and about time. I like it a lot.

I like it. I loved the Mk4, but the Mk5 has never left me feeling excited. The Mk6 looks great imho.

It looks like a mazda...imho

Looks a winner to me. I would agree it makes the Mk 5 look very dated

I really like it :D

A test drive in a GTi will be needed when they are available :D

Saw my first one the road this morning, really like the look of it, the wider, squatter rear end reminds me of the MkV W12 concept.

I can't wait for the GTI....
